About profstopick

profstopick, said out loud profs to pick, is where students work out who to take before enlistment: real student comments, the section schedule for the current term, and an advisor that answers one enlistment question at a time.

Why the name

Every enlistment season opens with the same question: which profs to pick. The name is that question with the spaces closed up, so “profs to pick” and “profstopick” mean the same thing: one is how students say it and the other is where they type it.

What is actually here

• Comments. What students wrote about a professor, on that professor’s own page, with a rating out of five where enough students gave one. A professor with too little to go on shows no score rather than a made-up middle one.
• Sections. The registrar’s meeting times and rooms for the current term, per course and per professor, so the question is not only who to take but whether their section fits the week you already have.
• The advisor. One question, one cited answer, built on the comments and sections above. It is not a chat and does not pretend to be one.

Which schools

Comments exist wherever the site is live. Section schedules need a registrar that publishes them, so not every school has both:

Nothing about a professor page assumes a single university, and profstopick is not affiliated with, and is not endorsed by, any university named here. If yours is not on the list, request your school; a student who can point us at where the section schedule is published moves their school up the list considerably.
