Anonymous member 397 yeah halos walang reqs but that means ur grade's gonna SUFFER. as in capital SUFFER. got a C sa kanya because the main source of grades is his quizzed/exams which are all so formatted poorly as if your priority is to memorize all the encyclicals n shit rather than actually understanding them. it's worse when u realize that theo 12 is about using theo for social justice and yet we left the classroom understanding nothingmore

hi! iirc that question was never raised in our class so i don't know for sure; maybe someone else might have a definitive answer. but what i can say is he's the type to rarely give exemptions or special treatments. very conventional in terms of how he conducts his class (but has progressive views regarding social issues for the most part) so don't expect unli cuts even if you're a dl. hope it helps and goodluck!

nope, hes also quite strict on attendance. every late and absence is recorded. he checks the attendance pretty early on sa class. on the plus side, one time i arrived halfway thru class & he still counted it as a late instead of an absence so take with that what u willmore

No, and he asks beadles to help with attendance so hopefully you have a beadle like me na makalimutin and bad at recognising faces

In my experience nagdagdag siya ng flat number of points sa lahat bilang curve, parang 13 points, I assume so that some of the lowest scorers would pass. Pero may mga bumagsak pa rin so pumayag siya na may make-up oral exam din.more

I suggest Ibera if you hate doing reqs kasi kaunti lang talaga, papasok ka sa class niya for boring monotone lectures tbh and 1.5 hrs ka na lang magg-google snake or wikipedia rabbit hole. Which is fine. He's a decent guy and he's actually funny. But his exams will have vague questions like "It is necessary to sustain human life" in an identification type test and each question is 3 points so yeah lol. He curved though so it's fine.more

u'll be better off with a different theo prof he only has a few requirements but the requirements were so heavy sa final grade 😭 - 2 exams - orals - presentation our orals were optional to those who passed the first test but are required to those who failed. he'll conduct his class by lecturing then have small group discussions then you'll have one person recite what yall discussed. his lectures were so HUH? and 💤 like you would understand the lesson more if you didn't attend class. and magulo siya magbigay ng instructions so goodluck sa beadle + hindi daw siya nagrereply sa emails oh and last na, get ready for eye contactmore

Finished his final exam today. Vouching for Daryll and Kevin's reviews! It's refreshing to have almost zero theo reqs for a heavy sem but at the same time the very few requirements are...terrifying, to say the least His midterm exam had a 3 points all or nothing identification portion that made up the bulk of the score plus a relatively easy essay. Vague questions like "It is necessary to sustain the possibility of a good life" which you won't know the answer to sapagkat hindi niya ibabalik yung exam hanggang magf-finals na ta's hindi pa nga nakasulat ang tamang sagot. In our section around half had a D/F result and thus had to take a remedial oral exam. Mataas na sa amin ang C+ and maybe low Bs at may curve na yun (standard +12 for everyone). The final exam was really easy, pure essay. I don't know why or what this means for future students. Baka natauhan siya na masyadong nakakaloka yung exam niya the first time? I pray na oo. Nakakaantok yung lectures niya. I usually did reqs for other subjects or read articles while in his class but just be careful kasi passive aggressive siya if he feels like people aren't paying attention at ipapasok niya talaga sa discussion hahaha, it's a social sin kasi. Also be prepared for his death stares and for him to just tap your table and ask you a very pointed question PS yes ang labo niya magbigay ng instructions and deadlines at sobrang nakaka-stress maging beadle niya! Hindi niya sasabihin kung kailan ang deadline kung walang magtatanong at pag may nagtanong bihira pa naman siya magreply 😭 Worth it? Maybe. If you really hate doing reqs and want 1.5 hrs of just being on your computer half listening half doing whatever. Medyo sugal ang grade but it may be worth it if you want to feel like hindi ka nagtheo this sem. Will update this w my final grade when I get it! EDIT: I got a B+! I don't believe he curved but I believe he really chilled out with the final exam and presentations (joint with NSTP) to raise the class average. And beadles beware, gusto niya akong kitain sa January para ako raw magbalik ng final exam papers...for classmates I may never see again 😔more

he’s good for ppl with heavy majors cuz his reqs are pretty onti lang tbh.. tho they’re a big chunk of ur grade get ready to sleep during class though HAHAHAH his teaching style is pretty monotonous (as mentioned by the other comments) his lectures are pretty boring, to the point na it would just make u wish that u cut the class entirely as mentioned by daryll, get ready for eye contact 😭 if he remembers you in class, he’ll probably ask you to recite every time…more

Overall, he's an ok prof, but his lectures don't really have much energy to them since he always speaks in a monotonous voice. As for grading, he does curve in exams; but based on my experience last sem, the highest grade he'll ever give anyone in a group output or in terms of class participation is a 92. If you're aiming for an A, take note of everything he presents, including the verbal inferences he gives during lectures since even the smallest details are included in his exam questions. As for the exams themselves, they generally consist of an essay segment (which is pretty easy) and a fill-in-the-blanks segment (not as easy, you really need to review hard even if you just want the bare minimum to pass). As for oral exams, he doesn't really have any. The closest thing he'll require you to do are group presentations Basically, so long as you put some effort, you can easily secure an A or B+.more

He was my Theo12 prof. Overall, Theo was very light in terms of requirements and deliverables. There were only a couple requirements needed and they were mostly bola-ble. The most you need to do is study for his exams. We had 2 through out the sem (midterm and final). His midterm exam was mostly identification and two essay questions. The essays were easy pero the identification was CJSJHFJSJKK. All I can say is that use his pptx when reviewing and familiarize yourself with the concepts he'll discuss. Wala siyang orals na required but he gave our class an optional make-up midterm na orals. Moving on to his lectures,,, LAWRD HSUDHAUHDJAHSH good luck na lang. His lectures are kinda messy. The way he teaches is very monotonous so it actually helps if you recite para wag kang makatulog. In conclusion, if your majors are kinda heavy na, I think he's a good choice for Theo. Pero beware kasi minsan he'll make u wna 😃😄.more
