My favorite prof in the whole world I swearrr, not a fan of Theo but this was one of my fave classes For the Final NSTP presentation, my major tip is to connect personally to the experiences you were exposed to. Don't just give the objective facts; reflect on the social reality and show that you genuinely care about the community and their life experiences For the orals, I actually enjoyed it! She gives 6 thesis statement then makes you bring a 3-page (max) outline for all of them and you pick a card number for which one you'll talk about. 10 minutes presentation, 5 minutes Q&A (simple lang naman as long as u rlly understand it) Ma'am said the people who got an A in the orals were usually those who connected the thesis statement assigned to them to the other thesis statements as *her whole class, all the lessons throughout the sem, are all connected.* Mahalaga 'to. As a general guide, this is the outline I based all of my thesis statement presentations on: I. Dissecting the thesis statement (explain *EVERY* single concept mentioned, and explain what the thesis statement is trying to convey and why all those concepts are relevant and tie together) II. Connection to other thesis statements (doesn't have to be all, I usually just connected it to 2 thesis statements, but just show that you understand that her lessons tie together) III. Application: what this means to me personally (experiences and examples) (this is very important to ma'am in all our outputs, including the annotations) IV. Deepening or Critique (display a deeper understanding of the thesis statement; you can apply it to our society ganern but sometimes I would critique it by questioning the validity of the statement in the real world or questioning certain concepts by saying it can be a dangerous lesson as people can use it for bigoted purposes) Para sakin, def manageable naman yung workload (not light per se but not heavy at all) and I wouldn't necessarily say easyy A pero hindi ako nahirapan as long as you always pay attention in class (id space out for 5 minutes and that would hinder my understanding of the entire lesson lol i'd have to ask for notes), take notes always (please), and follow ALL her guidelines/tips she mentions in class + rubrics A-able with a decent amount of effort ! DM or reply lang if need nyo ng tips or more info on her outputs/lessons :>>more

ok serious and long review incoming: ms. bl is genuinely one of my fave profs i took! im someone who was intimidated with theo 12 bc im not religious but she’s very open to all perspectives talaga which made the class im in super interactive! she doesn’t force people to recite but a lot of people get encouraged to do so (our class was very engaged 🫡 ) in terms of workload we didnt have quizzes but we did have annotation homeworks that might be quite heavy on those who dislike reading but my tip is to really take notes during class bc ms. bl does comprehensively discuss the readings, which you can use as reference with annotating (work smarter not harder HAHA) i think the heaviest are the groupworks that go along with nstp talaga 😭 but i think that applies to all theo 12+nstp classes naman ?? HAHA being in a good group with good groupmates in an nstp sector you are passionate about makes it all fulfilling though ! pero i agree with another commenter that the oral exams were quite intense … 😭 though she did give us a very big leverage kasi of having an outline of notes we can use during the orals so thats probably why she was more strict during orals! just follow the rubrics talaga and prepare with personal experiences and reflections on top of the theories and concepts in class! i dont think ms. bl is easy A (i remember how she said sa first day namin how all the reviews of her in profs to pick is easy daw siya so tataasan nya standards nya HAHAHA) but you’ll definitely be encouraged to study harder and listen during class talaga ! ✳️ TLDR: ms. bl is an amazing prof that’s really passionate about teaching. not easy A. A/B+ able with effort but you’ll definitely be encouraged to study and finish the class with a lot of knowledge and insight!more

shes a really good prof with a pretty light workload! shes really great at explaining concepts and meeting students where they are in her discussions as for assessments, its pretty light also! you have to give 3 annotations to a reading around every 2 weeks, and as long as theres substance thats usually a 10 then other than that you only really have the midterm and oral finals + the nstp presentation the orals are super chill! she explains concepts really well and will guide you naman if you get lost, plus she lets you bring 3 pages of notes to serve as an outline during your orals! super chill and best orals ever, and probably the orals that i actually was motivated to study for the NSTP presentation is partly graded by your nstp prof, but on maam BL’s side her grading is also super chill! as long as u can apply the theo concepts learned and show you actually immersed and learned, shes pretty ok with grading! i got an a with minimal effort, and i know a few people who missed assessments and still got b+:))more

Hi! I took Ma’am BL’s (Lanot) class last Semester. What she does is that she would integrate our lectures with Psychology and Social Sciences. I would say that its a good balance between Theology, and the Social Sciences. If I remember, we had many readings that were not from the Bible. We had two readings from the Bible. What I really liked about her class is the balance that we got, the Theology, social issues, and the social sciences. It was a space for me to integrate personal experiences and social issues with Theology.more

had maam BL last semester onsite! she’s super engaging, kind and approachable. I absolutely enjoyed all the lectures because she’s open to her students’ insights. For workload, she doesn’t do quizzes, instead the class is divided into 2 learning groups and you will be doing reading annotations. For midterms and finals, we had an oral exam. overall, A-B+ with effort :)) had such a great and meaningful time with this class!more

Took her onsite. The workload was a little heavy for me, but the class was suuuper meaningful! Orals are chill naman. No surprise quizzes or anything, but taking notes will help you a lot! A-able with effort. Also, be sure to get good groupmates!more

had maam BL last sem and ive learned so so much in this class!! she's the type of prof who welcomes all perspectives and helps you understand the lessons when you're confused!! in terms of reqs it was manageable. she grades fairly based on how much you learned: had 2 oral exams (midterms and finals) 3-4 perusall annotations 2 shared output in collab with nstp overall, it was pretty enjoyable especially if you want to get something out of the class!! but definitely NOT an easy a...more

Hii I don't think she curves, the grade you get is the grade you deserve :) but she's fairly easy naman, totally not impossible to get a B+ with little effort and A with enough effort!more
