My #1 advice: always attend her classes, listen very well, and take note of what you understood after. ALWAYS. Trust me. Hindi required umattend everytime pero mas dadali buhay mo. Most of what she wants to see in your paper (or at least the key points) will already be said during your synch classes w/ her. All you need to do after is expound on it.more

It was quite difficult but I managed through! I really suggest you recite as much as possible pero make sure to think it through. She doesn't like meaningless recitations, kailangan may new insight talaga and examples such as from her given readings.

Mataas siya magbigay here. Tip ko lang lang na highblood siya pag marami ka sinasabi and may pabackground ka pa sa report mo, brief lang sa readings then answer the guide question na straight to the point. (given naman ang guide qs weeks before your turn)more

never ata siyang nagbibigay ng uno sa final grade and assessments HAHAHA pinost niya yung grades naming lahat sa fb group (although student number lang naman) tas nakita ko na wala talagang naka uno sa amin sa mga assessments. I have a classmate who was excessively criticized by professor by his/her presentation. He/she struggled. However, throughout the lessons, I saw him/her improve and took notes of what professor said. He/she started to recite with points from other authors, and coherently made more sense. He/she is literally a good example of development.more

Samin kasi dati 8 reflection paper, final project (1 written, 1 video), reporting (i suggest namagvolunteer na kayo sa mga unang mga topics para di kayo mapressure sa mga mauunang magreport). Hello! Took fil 40 under ma'am for a mid year noong 2021 and okay naman siya. She just expects you to read in advance and to answer her questions/contribute sa discussions. Medyo intimidating siya sa una pero masasanay ka rin naman. Hahaha! And, i agree with the comment na nauna: galing ni Ma'am mag-explain kaya marami ka talaga matutunan.more

Sa class namin, pinareport niya kaming lahat. 80% samin ay nasigawan during the reporting. Mahirap siyang masatisfy at madali ring magalit. Ma'am isn't as bad as the other ratings here! Just be prepared for your report and do well in your research paper (min. 15 pages and has to be about wika/kultura). Yes it's true she can be moody (you can see it in her face talaga when you say something she doesn't agree with) but don't mind it nalang and you'll be fine haha :-)more

Halatang matalino talaga si Mam, kaso woman of few words sya kaya hindi nya masyado nash-share ang kanyang knowledge. Pag may sinabi sya, dapat na take note mo yun kasi hindi mo na uli maririnig yun. Ma'am can be downright terrifying at times, so you have to learn to be on her good side. As much as possible. That shows that you took the time to read the readings and it fosters discussion. If you fail your exam, don't worry. There are a lot of ways to pull your grade up. I wouldn't recommend her, but if you're stuck, be smart about it.more

Done with all my GEs, fil 40 nalang kulang and I took her class out of desperation. Can I just say na sobrang galing niya, her class is not for the weak heart. The best prof ever, sobrang dami mong matutunan. It's not uno-able, but I swear, worth it. TAKE IT AND DO NOT CANCEL. Just the best class I've had sa buong stay ko sa UP. :)more

okay wow. I think I have PTSD pa HAHAH. Mam is really good, in terms of her students will really learn something from her, but boy oh boy this class really tried me. All I can say is I survived her, this wasn't a mema GE, and I got a pretty high grade.more

Actually, may kagalingan si Ma'am Wilfreda. Tinake namin siya Midyear so by default mabilis talaga. Siguro sinwerte lang din ako sa mga naging kaklase at the time. Hindi pwede sa klase niya ang conyo, and tbh gets ko siya. You can't come to a Filipino class and not know even 'basic' Tagalog or even other PH languages, essentially 'yan moda niya kaya strikto siya. Hindi siya ma-handholding na guro.more
