SIR ONG IS A SUPER COOL PROF!! Class discussions are always a blast and he also cares a lot about his students and will approach you if he thinks you're having any trouble! Great teaching style, super insightful discussions. His uno standard is quite high though (97). Getting a 1.5/1.25 shouldnt be too hard if youre actually interested in the lessons and if thats fine with you, you wont regret taking his class! :)more

I promised him to make his review a solid 10/10 to have the *bonus* point in the exam. It's worthwhile taking his class--a must if you're in UP. If you want a prof that always blows your mind, pick sir. He's funny and "brilliant!". Most of all, he's appealing. Work hard with your analysis to get the uno, but he has high standards on essays.more

Sobrang insightful lagi ng discussions. Kahit tapos na yung klase iniisip mo parin yung discussion ninyo. 'Di naman ganun kahahaba yung readings, and he doesn't expect you to analyze it talaga haha kasi during discussions gina-guide talaga niya yung students para maintindihan. Gwapo pa niya and witty sa twitter. Take him!more

Mahirap ang exams pero sobrang galing magturo ni sir. The required readings are fun too. High standards pero kung nag-eeffort ka, wala kang dapat ikabahala. Plus ang cute ni sir =)))more

I've taken him in both Eng 10 and Eng 11. In Eng 10, his standards are quite high, but he gives specific constructive criticisms regarding your drafts, so it's really up to you if you want to pull it off or not. In Eng 11, you need to learn how to understand and delve into (also *feel*) the readings, not just stare at it for hours. Go, you potato!more

One of the best profs I've ever had!!! He gives a lot of readings and pop quizzes based on them, so make sure to read bc he can tell if BS lang yung essays tungkol sa topic na bibigay niya. He's one of the profs that really loves and knows what he's doing. He gives both interesting and relevant readings and the workload is fine, some quizzes every now and then and 3 major papers. Gives plenty of time to make them too. Don't believe the easiness rates - you CAN get an uno-1.5 if you work hard for it.more

Super underrated!! You'll learn so much from this class and you'll also learn so much about how other people view things! Sir makes it a point to let the class steer the discussion. Exams are super "kaya" as long as you listen and as long as you form your own opinions about the novels. Enlist na!! You won't regret it!more

His teaching style is very compelling and thought-provoking. You will always leave the class mesmerized with how he and the class discuss the readings. Very approachable and hands-on when writing your researchpaper. 3 papers, a few surprise quizzes. p.s. he has high expectations so don't get frustrated when you get a lot of red marks in your draft.more
