As someone who really sucks in math and had to take 30.23 in intercession, Sir Dayao is pretty okay! His exams aren’t super super hard as long as you practice since he usually gives hard examples in class to prepare you already. As for the long exams, usually I only got minus 2 in questions as long as he sees the “right” equation from the start. Since he grades based on your steps, if your final answer is wrong then you get at most like a minus 2 lol but overall he’s pretty okay!more

In my experience, Dayao had relatively easy tests for math 21 and whatever he teaches naman in class will be the kind of stuff that shows up (sometimes lang nga with a twist). Same goes for departmentals. Just listen to his review sesh!more

i havent experienced a dayao class, but sir lester is absolutely one of the kindest, sweetest, and competent profs out there. maybe his quizzes and exams wont be as easy as dayao (but still manageable since he will teach you well), i think he will better prepare you for the departmental exams :) bc if your math profs give you easy quizzes, you will most likely struggle in the departmental exam which was designed by multiple professors and not just your prof. but an A is not impossible with sir lester, i got an A for my calculus with only medium effortmore

Had both sir Dayao (Math 30.14) and Hao as well! Sir Dayao makes the math concepts very digestible and straight to the point, and doesn’t shame his students who have difficulty understanding the concepts behind the process. He stated in class na mas mahalaga na alam mo kung paano magsolve over the theoreticals since this can be learned over time. His assessments are relatively easier compared to other professors. Do your best in the quizzes and problem sets, and consult! Sir Lester was my grade 7 Chinese mathematics teacher when I was in my previous school and similar to sir Dayao, he is very kind (he helped me translate Chinese terms I couldn’t read and understand during exams), simplifies the lessons, and is open to consultations! Both professors are very good options so you’ll be in good hands!! 🫶🫶more

Had both Dayao and Hao for math. Dayao- No nonsense prof, extremely straight to the point and utilizes the entire period for lectures and practices. Really open to questions and tries his best to break it down simply. Very kind though Hao- Incredibly considerate and encouraging with students. More lively dicussions and really understands how to make math more approachable for non-math majors. Has academic interests in math based education so he has that layer of mindfulness i think. I'd go for Hao but Dayao's great toomore

pick dayao! no experience with hao, but i took dayao for MATH 30.23 before and i'd say his tests are easy as someone who also sucks at math + his teaching style makes concepts easier to understandmore
