Take Ancheta for THEO 13 if you want a light, A-able core with posted slides, chosen groups, and a lecturer who accommodates async and extensions, and you can tolerate monotonous lectures plus memorization-heavy objective items. Lean away if you need engaging in-class teaching or expect every test item to have been discussed. Sample is two writeups, so this is lean_take rather than take. No student voice on THEO 12.

i took her like first sem last year pa but i think during my time her A was a 96 na... di pa orals yung finals niya tho
- she's nice, but she's rly confusing at times
- don't use her class as an easy cut, at least listen and take notes sparsely (di naman need super effort) kasi kulang ppt na pinopost niya sa canvas. u lowk have to beg HAHAHAHA but i just think you'll have a wayyyy easier time with her written exams if u listen kasi minsan yung ppt niya puro quotes + i needed to wrap my head around some terms lang bc i didnt receive catholic or any religious education HAHDHSDHND
- agree sa posts na minsan may lumalabas na parang di naman diniscuss pero ewan ko ba if i just missed it. pero u can definitely answer them i swear intindihin mo lang
- everyone keeps saying to get good groupmates but ngl i don't even think you don't even need amazing groupmates you just need decent groupmates who do their work HAHA 😭 if you wanted to, you could finish her tasks in one group meeting ganun siya kadali
- i got her 8am class so at first medyo walang nagrerecite. i would recite bc i felt bad for her but i think bc of it, she ,, not necessarily liked me but she seemed to view me in a good light idk feeling lang
- if u have questions, ask them right after class na lang hehe. it also makes her recognize u e
studied only for one hour sa exams niya, catholic but have never read the bible, never read a single reading, took only a few notes, tulala palagi sa klase niya. got an A 🤷 ginawa ko pa siyang backburner among all my other subjectsmore

hi! i just got her for theo 13. i personally didn’t like her teaching style especially since her lectures weren’t very engaging and she can get quite monotonous. but she gives the powerpoint on canvas for the exam coverage and the info needed is usually there naman so it makes up for it! pretty wordy powerpoints tho so try not to digest them all in one sitting since it’ll be info overload.
her exams are okay lang. true or false (sometimes modified), multiple choice, and essay. no orals naman! the non-essay questions were very memorization heavy tho and some weren’t actually discussed in class so it left us a bit confused but it’s also guessable to a certain extent i guess. she had us do discussion boards and a few minor indiv and group requirements. tbh the workload was light and she graded relatively generously for those!
overall, she’s motherly like the other reviews say but that’s only sometimes and in real life. she’s nice but can be passive aggressive in emailing and can be unclear also in giving instructions or asking questions in exams (we had to keep asking her to clarify different questions in the exam since we didn’t understand what she meant by it especially for essay). nonetheless tho she’s still motherly and very approachable! she’ll always say hi even if you see her outside class.
grading wise i think she’s a pretty easy A but i also know a number of people who got B+. she considered the grade on canvas to be our final grade since she weighted the requirements there so just keep an eye out for that.more

In terms of teaching style, okay naman! Very direct and gives copies of her powerpoint. Though you have to listen talaga cause she includes some concepts that she just said so you have to listen and take notes. The first exam was kinda okay but the second one was a bit harder. Not sure about finals since I’m gonna take it palang!
For grading, she grades high. As long as you do your requirements and meet what is required of such, then you are just fine! Make sure din to clarify some specifications about her requirements para on par kayo with her expectations.
For workload, light to moderate lang naman. Though accdg to some of her students, THEO12 is heavier talaga but i think it’s the subject/curriculum. For THEO13, halos lahat groupworks per module and some discussion boards then three exams.
Also, as I’ve said, Ma’am Rica is very considerate. You can ask to move deadlines if talagang super heavy but make sure to communicate lang with her. Do not abuse lang her kindness!!
Overall, would take her again! A-able (sana) as long as you do everything!!more

yup since her A is a 95 i was in the range of 92-94 at the end of the sem but i think she curved a bit since she kept changing our scores on canvas (i think that’s weighted na yung sa canvas) so i got an A in the end,, pretty light workload so definitely A-ble just get good groupmates coz we also did a lot of group presentations but this is for theo 12 thomore

erm… for quizzes if u have a catholic background and are an avid reader of the bible then madali lang siya otherwise ipupulot mo talaga sa kawalan yung ibang sagot (for ex. what was the vocation of saint x?) pero syempre other items are objective naman and are discussed

hi currently taking her right now, and yes she truly has a light workload! we took i think around 2 online quizzes (recorded in kahoot lol) but its done asynchronously. i think we also had more online/asynch sessions than onsite 😆 her midterm exam is written onsite but it wasnt hard, you can pass it even without studying. she is also a very motherly figure and kind! so yes you have nothing to worry abt when taking hermore

Unless you’re the beadle, you’ll be surprised nalang “oh may output today hehe”- no clear rubric breakdown, grades would just be a surprise at the end of the sem.
