introductory course tas maglalagay na pala ng cs 12 content (according to some seniors) ano to? Expectation daw beginner pero what the hell pano ako makakakuha ng points. If ur gonna take cs 11 sya tagagawa ng mga problems usually, so be prepared. Have lots of programming background before going into this!!! Had to drop but I'll need to retake this course next sem, good luck :)more

I had some programming background before taking CS11. IT WAS DEFINITELY NOT AN INTRODUCTORY COURSE. The problems are tough and it's expected that you just figure them out on your own. I understand that students should be challenged, but this class was all about surviving, not learning.more

Hindi na nga lecturer, sobrang hirap pa siya magpaexam/lab problems. dalawa lang sa batch pumasa sa exam niya with 200/1000 average score.

Pang MIT level yung exams pero yung lec hindi naman kaya nakakafrustate na ganyan ang ineexpect nilang skill level saamin. if gusto ni sir ng MIT level students sa MIT nalang sya magturo, if maaccept sya.more

ever since he came into the department, literally ang tumaas lang is yung difficulty ng courses, not the actual quality of education itself. to set high standards + give out intense and difficult work to the students but not extending the material / teaching what’s even expected to be able to at least answer the assessments is a huge middle finger to the dcs community. he smiled seeing us suffer.more

AHAHAHAH THE WORD VOMMIT ON THE EXAMS 😭😭 as in masakit na nga ulo mo sa difficulty level ng exam niya papahirapan ka pa mag comprehend ng question. as in short story talaga per question. tapos tangina 3 hours lang for the exam. eh pag basa palang ng tanong siguro 5+ minutes na, tapos iintindihin mo pa. Tapos sasagutan mo pa. Tapos ma-rerealize mo sobrang vague pa ng hinihingi. Wtf?more

Unfortunately kung CS (or BS Math) student ka, hindi mo talaga siya maiiwasan. Hindi siya yung naghahandle ng mga lec pero siya naman gumagawa ng lahat ng exams / labs na kahit 6 hrs ka pa diyan JUSKOOO ni isa wala kang masasagutan kasi ang layo ng tinuro sa lec. Gets naman na gusto nya ng higher standards pero hindi naman lahat ng tao gusto maging part ng top 0.15% programmers in the world.more

Feeling ko talaga may superiority complex to. Ngumingiti ba naman nung CS 32 exam namin eh halatang hirap na hirap kami tapos 6 hours na lilipas. Rinig ko din sa upper batch na ayaw niya dati magpa-curve kasi “kahit mag curve naman tayo wala parin papasa”. The f*ck? So accountability isn’t a thing na in dcs. Lol. Of course fault ng students! #DCSNewEramore

the way the whole department in the faculty side is fan-girling over him is WORRYING. do they not see the state their students are in? The numbers regarding their grades and drops and standing? the department wasn’t doing well with profs na nga and their solution was to introduce one that just gave out ridiculously difficult assessments. do better dcs.more

There’s an obvious shift on how the department does assessments ever since this guy came around. However, DCS fails to improve their lectures / along too. This is what you get: Strenuous courses with a mediocre (and embarrassingly insufficient ) teaching style. Yet the department acclaims itself for this. “Yay! We’re difficult! That means we have high standards!”. What a joke.more

Definitely the prof that will push you to your limits. Sa totoo lang, sobrang time consuming yung mga pinapagawa niya (post labs and LE preparations). But as much as his approach makes me want to jump off a cliff, pushing myself that hard to meet his expectations made me see the beauty of comp sci. P.S. aside sa aral & sipag, kailangan mo din ng dasal pag siya yung prof mo HAASHAHAHAHAmore

He was only my lab sa CS 12 and 32, and I admit at that point sobrang layo ng level ng lecture sa lab. He was my lecture prof sa 33 tho, and that's where the lab and lec became kind of even. His lectures are the most interesting for me and I actually enjoyed it, hence got an uno sa CS 33 despite having 2.50 sa 12 at 32. I think if he'll be making the assessments, he should also do the lecture.more

I hate that CS 11 is exceedingly difficult that about 60% of BS Math freshies last yr dropped the course. DCS claimed there never was a mastermind yet, after he arrived, the course didn’t feel welcoming ever since. The high workload. The boring pedagogy. The high expectations (seriously, how is 96+ needed for 1.00 in this day and age?). I even freak out at the slightest glance of the material.more
