TLDR Good prof, funny guy, grades generously, and upholds integrity. Everything you want in a prof. Early drawback would be he seems unapproachable but then he's just tired with all his other commitments (full-time job, family). Given the chance, I'd retake his subject to relearn the things he taught. ## Teaching style and vibe He likes to walk through the slides he gives. It's very comprehensive. It's all you really need to study. No need to study from any book. He would talk about the slides and inter-/extrapolate based on what was needed. What worked for me is to transcribe the slides into my own readable format during the week before the lecture, then just have separate commentary notes for when he talks about it in his own words. It helped with digesting the lesson. ## Quizzes / LTs There are quizzes every session apart from the LT date. Just attend the sessions, they are not draggy and are usually pretty fun to attend anyway. One time, people would asynchronously answer the quiz (given on Canvas, everyone taking it in the classroom), but they'd be absent. He notices when a lot are absent, then the quiz will be super hard! Make sure to study for it! Super hard that quiz so make sure no one's absent. That one time was just the post-LT lecture, so he expected people be absent (kidding about the super hard comment, the quiz when he does a surprise quiz will be really easy... as in no brainer). Another thing, usually, he'd say "this will be part of the test." They were always, indeed, part of the long test / quiz. Most of the time for the quizzes (to be referenced later), there are just some intricacies to the questions. But if you paid attention and just retained enough of both the "good-to-know" facts and basic fundamental stuff from the lesson, you'll be fine. Make sure you know what the terms of financial ratios / rates mean. For example, I mistook Market Risk Premium as a whole other thng. Be careful with those things! ## Workload Apart from the weekly quiz, and the two long tests, you just have that valuation stock pitch thing. It's pretty alright, just make sure you know your way around cash flow statements and what the items mean. ## Grading (for the grade conscious) I got a high line of 80% ish on quizzes, a high 80% on an LT, wasnt confident with the 2nd LT, and ChatGPTed most of the insights for my part on the stock pitch script because I was graduating already hahaha. Make of that as you will. ## Personal He values integrity, just be honest and dont be afraid of him! He's overall a really nice guy, and I hope to one day cross paths with him in my career. Although, he teaches honestly. I ended up not really wanting to go the finance world hahaha. Not my thing to day trade (Technical analysis, charting etc), but I use the principles of his Fundamental analysis in my own personal investing journey.more

Hi! My experience is for the online class setting. 🙂 Sir Harley makes finance topics easier to digest naman tbh. I used to be intimidated by technical analysis but the way he explained it made it simpler for me. Good thing is that most of the modules can be learned asynchronously and he just summarizes the lessons during class hours. Though the modules are ok, I think that some of his quizzes were kinda hard compared to what he taught HAHAHA HDJDJSJS For workload, he had 4 quizzes (?) and 1 group project where you present your recommendation on a stock he assigns (financial model, paper & presentation) so it wasn’t too bad but the project is a big chunk of the grade!! So make sure to take advantage of consultation with sir for the project 🙂more

He's a chill prof that takes up around 2 hours of your time out of the 3 hours per session. You'll learn basic finance concepts, and how to do modeling and valuation by the end of the sem. Quizzes every week during class, easy enough to almost perfect, tho sometimes he likes to be sneaky with questions. He also cancels out your lowest 3 quizzes, so you have chance talaga to make bawi. He's approachable and wouldnt get mad at you if you ask him Q's. He brings up a lot of stories from his early work days on how he applied his teachings to his work decisions, and it's interesting.more

B to A is super achievable! As long as you follow his notes very carefully. Not much computation also is needed except for Module 2 (the hardest quiz among the four). 40% for the four quizzes, 10% each. The group project is worth 60%more
