My favorite prof in the whole world I swearrr, not a fan of Theo but this was one of my fave classes
For the Final NSTP presentation, my major tip is to connect personally to the experiences you were exposed to. Don't just give the objective facts; reflect on the social reality and show that you genuinely care about the community and their life experiences
For the orals, I actually enjoyed it! She gives 6 thesis statement then makes you bring a 3-page (max) outline for all of them and you pick a card number for which one you'll talk about. 10 minutes presentation, 5 minutes Q&A (simple lang naman as long as u rlly understand it)
Ma'am said the people who got an A in the orals were usually those who connected the thesis statement assigned to them to the other thesis statements as *her whole class, all the lessons throughout the sem, are all connected.* Mahalaga 'to.
As a general guide, this is the outline I based all of my thesis statement presentations on:
I. Dissecting the thesis statement (explain *EVERY* single concept mentioned, and explain what the thesis statement is trying to convey and why all those concepts are relevant and tie together)
II. Connection to other thesis statements (doesn't have to be all, I usually just connected it to 2 thesis statements, but just show that you understand that her lessons tie together)
III. Application: what this means to me personally (experiences and examples) (this is very important to ma'am in all our outputs, including the annotations)
IV. Deepening or Critique (display a deeper understanding of the thesis statement; you can apply it to our society ganern but sometimes I would critique it by questioning the validity of the statement in the real world or questioning certain concepts by saying it can be a dangerous lesson as people can use it for bigoted purposes)
Para sakin, def manageable naman yung workload (not light per se but not heavy at all) hindi ako nahirapan as long as you always pay attention in class (id space out for 5 minutes and that would hinder my understanding of the entire lesson lol i'd have to ask for notes), take notes always (please), and follow ALL her guidelines/tips she mentions in class + rubrics

learning under his tutelage is a wonder best left to experience than description. so, i will make the effort to share what is essential but also leave room for you to discover exactly what makes his class special.
pros:
- ez assessments with more than enough time allowance
* i mostly just had to write 1-2 page letters
* most difficult assessment for this course was the integrated NSTP output (paper, presentation, infographic) that serves as capstone
- responsive to communication and consultations
* expect quick replies to your emails with detailed feedback on your drafts (give a day for him to get back to you)
- open to negotiation
* can readily extend deadlines within reason or cull certain requirements altogether
- NO FINAL EXAM!
* just a capstone described earlier
cons:
- only allows the first three rows to use gadgets
* he believes gadgets hinder student engagement due to a tendency to browse unrelated material but he only allows gadget use for first 3 rows bc iirc he said he can still observe ur gadget use
- A is 96
* the median score for most outputs typically fall within A or B+ so just be diligent
do i think you should take him?
- if you want a prof that approaches your ideas with sincerity and is sensitive to your positive learning experiences (ie light load and fun sessions), i say yes!
sir dagmang has been a personal delight and i would choose him as my instructor in future courses if given the chance.
getting an A might be a challenge, but the light load and his undeniable charm, which others in the thread have discussed in length, make him a highlight in my sophomore year.
i make this review as a tribute to a person who contributed to a positive experience in this term, but also because i did well enough to feel strongly about my time in the course haha
enjoy his class! im certain you won’t be able to avoid that in as much as i feel compelled to write about how fun this was for me and potentially to you too haha

It's 5% of the grade accd to syllabus. She doesn't call on people and I didn't see her physically record recitations, so maybe it depends on if she remembers you, but I enjoyed reciting in class:>more

also his classes are fun if u like adorable old people humor. he’s super sweet. down side lang is his voice isn’t the loudest so if u take him, avoid rooms na walang aircon HAHAH my classroom was in faura when i took him so the windows were open and there were times i had a hard time hearing him
ALSO he doesn’t really “allow” the use of devices in class. i’m using quotation marks bc the way he explained it is basically he won’t disallow devices, but there’s a higher chance of him curving ur grade if u don’t use devices HAHAHAmore
