Group presentations, pick your groupmates wisely

had him for ENE 13.04i last intersession SY 2024-2025. our schedule in canvas was daily but we only had classes 3 times a week (MWF). iirc towards the latter part of the sem, these were reduced to 1-2 times na lang because he gave time for us to work for our final presentation. requirements were usually by group (3-4 ppl). the group you pick at the start of the sem will be your groupmates throughout kaya choose your groupmates wisely. most of the requirements were presentations about the assigned text / media, and these were easy lang as long as you know how to analyze, critique, and apply the concepts you learn in class. just a note for presentations, he doesn't like it when you read from a script and not engage with your audience. for individual requirements, it's mostly discussion boards where you post a comment and reply to others. there are times where we have to write an essay on the spot in class. also, there's an individual synthesis paper where you have to write about a pivotal moment in your life and it's impact to your leadership journey. i'd say that his teaching style is okay. there are times where his lectures can get boring because some lessons are just repeated from enlit. what is unique and great sir JA's style is his use of pop culture and media. i remember he assigned an episode of doctor who for an activity and for me that's cool. overall, i would say he's a good and A-able prof! he grades high as long he finds your presentation engaging. tip: since this is an interdisciplinary course, make sure to reference other learnings you have from other subjects and connect it to your lessons.more

Hi zen, I’ll just copy paste haha I had him for ENGL11, so I don’t really know well he teaches for ENE. Generally, Sir is not as constricting as the other English profs, he’s very open to interpretation… For the first few sessions, he will ask you your ideal grade in an index card, so I think it is best to place an A! Sir also very engaging in discussions, and in my experiences, he’s not boring naman. He usually does a lot of group works and DBs, again, it might differ because this is a different class. For written outputs, always refer to his syllabus for the formatting. Cut-wise, he’s very understanding naman as long as you give a valid reason. This is the part you’re waiting for, he’s B+ able with effort. I don’t like saying profs are easy A (lalo na from english department), because you might experience their teachings very differently. In my case, I fortunately got an A for his class!more

he was my enlit prof and i’d say that he’s one of the profs who made me more interested in literature! his requirements are manageable, and as long as you show that you understood the reading, you’ll get a good grade. some readings also have sensitive topics, but iirc he offers alternatives if you’re uncomfortable with them. overall, he’s one of the best profs i've had so far and you’re in good hands with him! + tip in recitation: the more you recite, the less that he will call you later on, so try to recite as much as you can when discussing the lighter readings (he did this in our class)more

struggled extremely hard with my mental health last semester but sir ja was extremely accomodating with it, too. he's considerate with legitimate concerns and teaches well + pretty engaging too! i liked the structure that he follows in class and he asks a lot of questions to the class, making digesting the lessons easier ! got a B+ despite my delays and late outputs (had deductions but not that much due to the legitimacy of my situation), so it's definitely A-able.more

had him for enlit12, chill soft-spoken prof! he’s considerate with requirements and gives high grades esp to those with effort. during lectures tho he would sometimes call students with his index card pile for recitation so tip lang to read the reading (if given beforehand) but there are times din that the readings are presented in his slides. had 2 papers (1 midterms and 1 finals) + presentations and some activities, def A-able!more

had him for enlit and he's really cool! his readings are very interesting so u wont get bored with it. when he teaches and analyzes the readings, he really helps u understand and makes his lecs entertaining! just don't u dare use chatgpt cuz he can notice it and nadamay kami sa pop quiz ng ibang class cuz almost half of them used chatgpt huhuhu. overall, really great prof and he grades high if u put in the effort (and are truthful about it)!more

Also had him for ENLIT 12 2nd sem of freshman year. He's very generous with feedback, especially during class. I recall us having some type of writing activity whenever we'd meet onsite. Before the class ended, he would ask everyone to line up so he could comment on our work (very high school vibes). He's also lenient with deadlines. Overall, I think he's the type of prof you can vouch for to appreciate your creative writing work.more

loved him as my enlit prof (skl he gives out good book recos too if you ask him) !!! the readings he gives out for group assignments are very interesting, a lot focus on feminism and lgbtq+ themes. i also enjoyed how he analyzes some of the readings during class time and breaks down every line for hidden meanings/metaphors there came a point when we had 1-2 group assignments every week (p heavy :’)), but i definitely learned a lot. also good to note that he’s considerate in terms of midterms/finals submission, he lets you pass late (though with some deductions)more

Hello! Pretty late but HAHAHA I loved Prof Del Prado's class but I had him for ENG 12 and not ENE so not sure how that would differ but generally very nice! Pros: - Sir allows gadgets and He's very approachable! - His readings are generally not too long (longest was a story of like 16-30 pages I think) and I think they're all pretty insightful! - Prof shares all the ppts and he grades pretty high especially when he sees you give effort or passion in an activity!! Cons: - He usually calls with index card and sometimes the questions can really depend on the reading so you have to read closely but he will try to help you get to the right answer - He's kind of soft spoken so you might not hear him from the back haha but it's not much of a problem most of the time But overall GOATED :)))) very A-ble based on experiencemore

didn't have him for this specific class, but had him for ENLIT 12! he's a high grader and quite understanding, definitely a-able. however, i did notice that he didn't so much teach us the skills needed to analyze literature as do the analyzing for us in front of us, which meant i didn't learn as much as i had hoped to from the class. he also has a thing where he doesn't really let you raise your hand for recitation and instead calls randomly based on index cards, so do with that what you willmore

he was a good teacher! he is really approachable and understanding. when it comes to discussions, he really knows the material so when reading them yourself do pay attention to the details. though every time he assigns readings, they're not heavy so don't worry (they're even interesting for me!). in terms of workload, there are several group works and a few individual activities. advice is just to pick a good group & pay attention. you're in good hands,!more
