Grades extremely low, B+ with effort but A is rare
Hello, I took her last school year. I am not sure if I was one of the few unfortunate students to get this experience from her, but if I were you, I'd run out of that class.
She grades extremely low and reserves high grades only for the most creative outputs when it comes to class activities. She is not objective at all when it comes to grading these activities and I doubt that she uses her own rubric. If you want to get a high grade when it comes to these activities, it's best if you try and make your output as entertaining and creative as possible rather than try to only follow the rubric she will give you.
As for essays, which in my experience were her major outputs, she does provide many writing tips. But in my opinion, her tips are not entirely useful since she will do everything in her power to try and find mistakes in your essay no matter how miniscule they are; and not always in a clear, constructive way. It's as if she wants you to adhere to her writing style moreso than develop your own style based on the resources and lessons she provided.
Parenthetically, when it comes to other aspects of grading, she's a bit confusing. On one hand, she'll happily provide bonus points and curve people's grades in some activities. While on the other hand, her extremely harsh standards make it so that the average class grade in her major requirements becomes around 84/100.
Overall, she'll happily give you a B+ with enough effort, but you'll only receive an A if you somehow manage to adhere to her extremely subjective standards. Is her class pure hell? Not really. But is she a fair and impartial professor? Definitely not. 😞

Hi! I had ma'am Gomez for Enlit (lcs) 21, so things might be a bit different, so maybe take this with a grain of salt. TLDR: surviveable, I'd say almost a certain B or B+ She knows her stuff and it's clear naman that she's knowledgeable.If she handles ENE the same way she handled Enlit 21, it'll be a lot of hands-on work, so not much in the way of discussions. She would give out readings first (which, ngl, were long) and then discuss the major points of the reading, but her discussions were really short and the rest of the meeting would be focused on an activity or group discussion. I'd say her workload leans towards heavy-ish because of the readings and she gave a lot of activities. However, the activities were relatively light and quick enough to answer. My gripe with her was that her feedback isn't exactly constructive? For example, she'd highlight a sentence from your answer to activity and just write a comment that says "no." then when you ask her to clarify it doesn't really make sense? So yeah that was tough. She's not particularly a harsh grader (typically gives Bs and B+s) though she's not the kind to give As. Still, I had a pretty heavy sem when I took her and I got a B+ with as much effort as I could give, and most people in her class got about a B-B+ as well. So I'd say she's bearable enough and you'd survive her class with a satisfactory grade but tbh she wouldn't be my first choice of prof just cuz I felt like I was going in blind due to the lack of proper discussion and feedback from her. Again, this is from my experience from Enlit (lcs) 21 so I'm not sure how different her ENE course would be. Good luck,!more

hii!! i had maam gomez for enlit 12 last year, and while she was very meticulous during the first few requirements, she made enlit very very enjoyable for everyone (i personally had enlit as one of my fave subjs for that sem bc of my overall exp w her 😭) she gives quite a lot of activities throughout the sem but it's typically done by group! she would give prompts to answer based on the given readings for the module, and she is very specific on what types of content u include and how you plan to present it :0 it can get quite intimidating to listen to her comments, but they really do help in improving your output (and she also loves fun and creative presentations so much!! natutuwa siya kapag may pa-eksena bago yung presentation itself) there is also a relatively high learning curve on getting what she wants in the essay requirements, but she makes sure to prepare everyone on how to write proper papers (we took a while discussing module 0 which was about the basics of writing a good MLA paper) in conclusion, very much A-able as long as you consult as much as possible for major requirements while also letting your creative juices flow in the activities 💗 the module's materials are also very fun to read and watch (we had EEAAO, 1984, and macbeth last time among others), which helped a lot in making the class enjoyable!! i hope you enjoy being in her class as much as i did, 🤞more

my grades (reqs + report card) under her classes typically ranged from B+ to A:> generally, i think she's p clear with what she wants from her students naman so u js have to follow that. for example, she would usually tell us to write essays with a more personal tone etc. for quizzes, you should rly go through the material bc she asks about random details to ensure you actually read / watched it

(for future reference) her class was very unstructured to me, like you wouldn’t know what would happen in the next session because at one point she kept making sessions online or cancelled it fully 😭 i think she gave a total of 2 lectures the whole sem, the others are group activities/discussions where you have to make your own insights and write about it. she does go around to ask for what you guys have so far and discusses along with you. she returns some grades late as in 3 days before the final grades are released. the lowest grade she’ll give (based on what i see) is 80, but it’s hard getting 95+ tbh. she has good taste in literature and her humor is funny but she was just so unpredictable 😭 i was thinking B+ able with effort.. but somehow i got an A??? i didnt score that high in her assessments btw.more

hi! had her for 2 sems n i think her classes are pretty manageable:>
- she gives nice and interesting materials for her discussions BUT they tend to get a little heavy so you rly need to budget ur time
- she either gives a lot of quizzes or grp presentations (weekly 😭)
- makes it clear what she wants to see for written outputs so u just have to follow that and u should get a good grade
- when i had her for ENE she gave a bunch of opportunities for consultation

Her material is a good read if you take the time to understand and reflect on it but even without you'll be able to follow through with it anyhow :>
If she sees you're really enjoying the readings and are very engaging in class she'll grade you well.

Medyo mabigat yung workload but it’s mostly by group so the work is divided between y’all. I’d say take her advice during consultations seriously. usually she tells you naman what she wants, so follow that and you should get an okay score.

Like the materials she gave were very interesting. Workload wise, it is not super heavy naman. Is it an easy A? Not really HAHAHAH but it could be bias since I'm not a big fan of reading. I was her beadle during her onsite class last semester of this year. She's unlike her past reviews now: so easy to talk and consult with; always gives constructive advice with essays.
She's easily entertained through presentations; I recommend to add icebreakers or skits to keep her attention. She has high standards on essays, but as long as you consult with her and follow her recommendations, you can get an A!
Class participation is always via discussion boards and Perusal annotations. imo you don't really need to listen attentively during class discussions because they're mostly supplementary and has nothing to do with your deliverables. She's absolutely organized: for every module, she'll post the schedule and tasks for synchronous and asynchronous classes; for almost every onsite lectures, she'll write the agenda on the board to keep us on track.
Also, in our case, we technically applied to be the beadle. There was an application form and everything. She'll be choosing two beadles, and they'll be partners. If one of the beadles are unresponsive/uncooperative, she will replace them with another who also applied.
I almost gave her a perfect score in the faculty and course evaluation hehemore

- iirc most assessments were group essays about the readings + two individual papers (midterms and finals) and discussion boards for every reading discussed where you have to reply to others to get the full points.

- Take advantage of consultations! She really gives you good feedback and usually pinpoints specific parts of your work she thinks you could improve on (and she usually gives you tips on what she wants to see exaclty)

She treats the class like kindergarteners, never teaches anything (we never had a single lecture in class), she makes the class "teach each other" by giving nothing but group assignments and group works
She gives the most mundane comments on your outputs then suddenly drops a huge project where all she does is give nothing but backhanded feedback

had ma'am gomez for this subj last sem + enlit in my first yr in terms of activities, she makes us do a LOT of group works tho may indiv every now and then._. sometimes you'll be allowed to pick your groupmates, sometimes she'll assign beforehand. but tbh they're pretty chill for the most part. kinda surface level imo but she grades pretty highly naman she doesn't do much lectures either (though she acknowledges they aren't really her thing; she once referred to her lectures as "zombie lectures" so at least self aware haha) i'll say though that she definitely knows her shit and she does have good taste in literature and media. ma'am made us watch snowpiercer (the film, not the series) as a required viewing and it was fun actually! we even had an activity based on our understanding of the film with grading, kinda random siya magbigay tbh... even tho i've taken her twice parang di ko parin nagegets yung standards nya T^T pero i can safely say easy B+ naman si ma'am overall, i think she's a decent prof to take! not exactly my top reco for ene since feel ko there are better profs, but you'll be in good hands naman with her! good luck!more
