super chill. 1.25able with min effort. he's rarely there 'cause he doesn't need to be. STS is team-taught by ~23 diff lecturers/profs teaching stand-alone topics (related to their field: STEM/AH/SSP, you name it; they'll most likely teach it) requirements: attendance, 1 reaction paper, 1 final paper/report (~15 groupmates), 1 exam(2 essays)more

few tips: for the exam, you'll be given 2 sheets. each sheet has 1-2 essay questions from 1 of the many different lectures(no choosing) but you can narrow down what to study.if the lecturer is based abroad/is super big time (chancy),they won't be in the exams so no need to take notes. take notes if it's a UP prof who likely has time to check essays
Since history of math yung tinuturo niya, ma-eenjoy mo talaga yung class. Siya yung tipong teacher na puro pictures lang yung nasa powerpoint, if gagamit siya ng ganun. Magaling mag-explain at maiinspire ka matuto more about the subject.more

STS is probably one of the most chill (required) GE I've taken! Unless dependent siya sa prof. Sir Nemenzo is soft-spoken pero he's really nice, and first day pa lang he already explained what will go down sa class and what is required of us. Lecturers ang mostly nasa class meetings. Final group output + perfect attendance + (essay) exam = kerimore

Not much to say kasi di naman siya always present class. But mind you, magaling siya magturo. Comprehensive ang discussion, kahit sa orientation, and he makes sure na naiintindihan ng students. Basta effort sa 2-essay finals exam, finals group presentation, prepare to celebrate in the end kasi sure pass. For freshies wanting to take STS, TAKE HIMmore

Not much to say about him since hindi naman sya madalas magtuturo, pero nung orientation, he explained his requirements very well. I did not exert much effort but I got a 1.25. His reqs are 1 reaction paper, 1 group paper, and final exam lang na 2 essay. Super chill! Try to appreciate every speaker in class, you'll learn a lot kahit boring minsan.more

STS is basically a series of lectures and Sir Nemenzo only handled one in our term. But on that one lecture, sobrang cool ni Sir, haha he really knows his field well. To pass STS, just go to class + do well in group project (paper + report) + essay exam. I think this subject is relatively chill. :)more

A kind of professor that really respects his students. Just do the very best that you can and for sure you will get 1.00. :)
positiveSTS
This is the easiest and chillest GE I've taken so far, yet very value-adding - lectures are given by different experts coming from various fields. Just (1) prevent urself from cutting the class (2) be a hardworking groupmate (3) ace the requirements (NO need to review for finals because it's subjective naman). If I'm not mistaken, many got 1.0!more

Pogi ni Sir. Huhu. ♥

Pahirapan in a way ang finals pero nagulat talaga akong nauno ko siya in the end. A must-take prof tbh.more
negativeMATH 10
i was always present (he always checks attendance), did well on the group report, did the final exam, but ended up getting a 1.50. we never even knew ano grading system kasi a syllabus was never sent and never gave feedback. bigla ko nalang nakita sa crs 1.50.more
