Take Odulio for THEO 13 if you want a passionate, structured lecturer who likes questions, posts slides after class, and runs few assessments (group oral plus magazine-style essay) with fair grading. Do the recitation and notes honestly; it is not a free A. Sample is five comments and two independently call him a favorite. Lean away only if you need a no-effort A or cannot sit recitation.

You'll learn a lot, high standards, no BS on orals

You will learn a lot from him since he's very knowledgeable about what he teaches and you won't get bored in class with his jokes and anecdotes.
In terms of grading, he has high standards but you really can't blame him since he teaches everything so well. You have to be precise in his surprise short quizzes since everything can be found in the readings. For the orals and major onsite essay, you cannot simply bs your way through it. Just don't leave sir hanging and support your ideas well with the course content without making it sound forced. Also, don't stick to simply parroting his slides or things that have been said in class since sir won't give you a high grade. He also looks at how you engage with what you learned in class.
As for requirements, sir's class isn't very demanding since they're usually done during class time so I wouldn't consider this a heavy course.
Overall, his class is B-able with just the right amount of effort. Just be insightful and participate a lot in class if you are aiming for at least a B+.
P.S. He's very strict with attendance so make sure to be in class before the second bell ends.more

I took his class last year and I agree with basically everything that the previous comments said. A-able and easy B+, but I would recommend reciting often if you really want to get that A. Notes are your best friend in his class, so be sure to take them down bc the ppt can be vague. For the orals, they can be tricky, especially sa follow up Qs, but I would say you’ll get a high grade as long as you know what you’re talking about. Sir Ino’s a “modern/progressive” and open-minded Theo prof which made the class very enjoyable and very insightful compared to the other Theo classes I’ve had before. Would highly recommend tho probably not batch 2-able.more

By far my favorite Theo prof in all 3 theo classes I took.
- Lectures are well-structured and engaging, he always finishes what's to be covered in one lecture yet explains everything well
- Few assessments; do them well but he doesn't grade too harsh, very fair
- Midterms are by groups and open-notes, BUT he will ask follow-up questions that test if you really understood the lesson. Man does not live through notes alone. Thesis statements released in advance.
- PPTs are released on Canvas, usu. after the lecture
- Very important: not homophobic ❤

Grading is fair (but medj also leaning towards high grading 😅)
Orals is like a roundtable discussion. Itll be by group but each of u will only discuss 1 sentence of the thesis statement (not the whole). He leads u towards the answer he wants to hear nmn so yes
But do take note that he doesnt conduct online class (coz he doesnt have a conducive workspace at home); so expect onsite always unless he says asynch session

Sir Odulio is charismatic and familial. He likes to give examples of situations about the topic. He especially likes it if you ask questions in class. He does get sick quite a bit. He is also very aware of the difference between a Catholic and Theological Institute like Ateneo. Take down notes very well, especially what he says. The orals might just let you use them.more

my fave theo prof!! his lectures definitely changed my perspective about theology. i always look forward attending his classes because of how engaging it is :)) he's funny and open-minded!!
IMO he has high standards when it comes to grading but i don't mind; i'd say he's b/b+ able with effort!
he's very understanding during orals, i was nervous during the orals so he asked my other groupmates first hahaha

it would be gud practice to take down notes cause it helps with your assessments a lot.
not easy A and he WILL challenge you when it comes to recits (in a good way) and he grades fairly for assessments.
