took SPA 11 with Justine Porras. lowkey the best professor i had this semester. as compared to my other peers who took it with another prof, ma'am mayee is generous with activities that get you bonus points. she teaches the course well and uses a variety of tools to teach; you do a lot of class activities / games together and your participation counts towards your grades. this is why class attendance is important under her - i would say this is the most she follows "by the book." quizzes and exams are also very doable. she's a young prof, so she relates well with us and approaches the language in a very accessible manner. she teaches at and works with upd in creating tag-spa materials so she's very passionate about her area of work and this bleeds thru her lessons. i think one thing i didn't like lang was that there was a canvas homework every meeting and had varying deadlines. it's a me problem though bc the multiple micro deadlines just stresses me haha. it honestly really isn't a problem because she explicitly says that the deadlines don't matter (and it really doesnt - you can literally hand in all your missing work at the very end of the sem and your grade will still be whatever you score in the hw) A-able with some effort!more
