Barely teaches; get a good group or suffer

OH NO HAHAHAHAHA. She's a really irresponsible prof. At the start of the sem, you'll be grouped into 5-6. Get a good group, this is VERY IMPORTANT. She's barely there to teach class, and when she is, the class is useless. Everything you need is in the powerpoint, which she'll give you at the start of the sem. One LT (but she promised 2), no quizzes, mostly group papers. She can't keep track of deadlines very well and we have to remind her sometimes that the deadlines are impossible to meet. She's really boring and you won't want to pay attention in class. The feedback she gives during consultations is useless and she'll grab onto anything familiar with her and make kwento from there (you will hear about the music industry a lot) She'll ask you to give 2-3 presentations with your group, which she won't pay attention to. Fun story: during our final defense, she invited another panelist and proceeded to just be on her phone for the entire defense. Didn't even ask any questions. I hated her teaching style and her class in general. Also because she made racist comments in the very first session LUH TRIGGERED. She called the four Chuas in our class the "Chua Children" :(((( Easy B though. B+ is possible if you get almost nothing wrong. A is impossible.more

definitely agree w the lively discussions!! i think it helps if you engage w her and her kwentos esp during consultations. had her for Q1 and she had a discussion board for almost every page in her module which was v exhausting but deadlines were all at the end of the qtr (maybe she’s improved considering this was the first qtr for the online setup) !! lots of groupworks wherein you have to submit passes which you can basically compile at the end for your final paper + the ppt presentation for defense. she gives me tita/mom vibes at the same time since i can freely reply to her kwentos! she’s v approachable as well so it helps if you coordinate w your beadle if the class is having a hard time w deadlines. aside from getting tired from the amt of discussion boards, it’s very A-able as long as you submit all assessments for both indiv (dbs and quizzes) and group (papers) and do well in defending your group paper !more

iirc...we were given group papers about the company you chose. Then afterwards, final presentation about the company chosen. Overall, its an A/B+/B-able class

You most probably won't fail but I don't think you'll learn that much. I'm not sure she knows how to teach. I suggest just get good groupmates for the paper and don't cram doing it.more

make sure to pick an industry you're familiar with and a firm who would be willing to give your group almost anything cause she'll really push you guys to actually get financial projections and actually dig in really deep into the company. her instructions are not clear (like in the paper we got confused if industry or yung company like ???) and late siya during consultations (actually late yata siya every time) very few requirements(?). industry research, 1 long test (supposed to be 2 but I think the 2nd one kinuha na lang niya from multiple short quizzes which were given by the class din kasi kasama sa presentation) as much as possible do well in the long test cause that would probably be your first and last. also late din siya nun final presentations namin so good luck with that lalo na if afternoon kasi baka mamove to dinner yung presentation niyo.more

Her class was a blur for me (but in a good way). Learned a decent lot to ensure medj sulit naman ung tuition, had relatively chill workloads BUT be sure to get good groupmates cos a lot of ur reqs will hinge on that. Overall wasn't a major stressi depressi and was a good experienssimore

Hi! I took Mam Cheryl for LAS 120 last semester. She doesn’t use slides—just goes through the Canvas modules when teaching. She shares a lot of real-life examples from her own or her friends’ experiences, but the discussions can feel a bit surface-level. Tbh, they can get a bit boring sometimes (or maybe that’s just me 😅). We usually had one onsite class a week, while the other session was either online or asynchronous. For assessments, the main one was the Corporate Strategic Report by group, which we worked on in parts throughout the sem. There were also individual online assessments or discussion boards, usually due during class hours. As for grading, I don’t really know how she grades since we never got anything back 😆 but I got an A, so I think she grades pretty fairly!more

Didn’t get the 3 hr class but M-TH. She has a hybrid class system and would alternate online and onsite. We’d only go asynch if she assigned us discussion boards/papers to do. We’d also go fully onsite for a week if we had group presentations scheduled.more

She’s B+/A with effort. Other classmates got a B/B+ even tho they didn’t give effort in DBs or the papers. She grades low in group papers tho, like all groups got 83-88 over 100 i think?more
