One of my favorite experiences in a COMM elective so far!!
I was part of their first batch of students earlier this 2025 and I am so happy I took the gamble even though they were a TBA prof!
Their teaching style is very rooted in their real life experiences especially since they are from different fields in comm. Very much application focused and more on implementations rather than concepts.
This isn't a hard class academically but you really learn a lot from true practictioners of comm.
Best to get good groupmates for this class since you are more or less doing one project for the entire semester with that group. From our batch of comm 114, we chose an organization who would benefit from our help and we make an advocacy/marketing plan for them (my group did a brand book). They really appreciate when you really work with the organization you choose. +++ for presentations they love when you are really able to paint a picture. They don't like scripts and not super stiff presentations, they want you to present not report.
I really wanna take their class and be their student again if I could. They are all super tita energy and really show they care that you learn. They also remember who you are and genuinely want to get to know you as a person and not only as a student.
Get this elective if you could!! ☺️more

i've never written a review on profs to pick in my life, but after seeing this post, i knew i had to write one!
this is one of the best classes i've ever taken in comm!! i honestly wish that i could take this class again!!
as long as you’re passionate about your advocacy, you’ll absolutely love this class. these three professors are so genuine, passionate, and deeply rooted in their advocacies — you can really feel how much they care about the topics they teach. you will feel that energy in every class. all their discussions are meaningful and eye-opening. i totally agree with the other review that it’s best to have good groupmates. it makes brainstorming and campaign planning so much more fun and cohesive. you will be grouped with the people who have the same advocacy as you. but, you can also go solo if you have a very specific advocacy!
they create such a supportive environment where you feel safe to share your thoughts and experiences. you can really tell that they care about their students’ growth both academically and personally.
overall, these three profs are what made advocacy communication such an enjoyable and inspiring class!! please, please, please get this elective if you can. it's one of those classes that genuinely stick with you even after the semester ends!more
