Take Asinas for OPMAN 120 if you want an approachable lecturer who uploads slides, grants extensions, and grades with partials, and you can start the company-operations project early, pick decent groupmates, and book consultations. Took Ma’m Asinas’ for DecSc25 last sem (which was her first experience teaching eVER).
Overall, she’s fairly new with the whole teaching schtick, but has years of business experience— and it kind of showed when she taught our class.
The Bad(ish): She had a lot of requirements for the class which included around 4-5 case studies that we usually had a week to prepare for, present in class, and have write ups according to certain frameworks and tools she wants you to use (which are usually tools she teaches in her PowerPoints). For example: When you say Design Thinking Process,,, we literally had like,,, three things come into mind,,, which is kind of confusing when you’re asked to use a certain tool for the test. Other requirements included: a few quizzes (I think I counted around 5) which were both announced and unannounced, some homework, a take home midterm exam, a midterm project, a final exam that wasn’t open notes, a final paper/case study. It was my most requirement heavy class, :’) I also never saw her give a perfect score to anyone, the highest I’ve ever seen her give was a 94-96 and that was actually pretty rare to see. She doesn’t give instructions well either,,, My biggest peeve was that she usually just read off her slides, and I’m not a fan of those kinds of profs. (Also: she takes note of attendance every session, though I’m not quite sure if she’s super strict with attendance)
The Good: I think she actually tried to learn everyone’s name in the class. She’s very motherly and actually easy to talk to when you have clarifications or concerns about certain things. Sometimes our class was able to negotiate some deadlines HAHAHAHA (emphasis on sometimes). Other than the requirements, it’s actually easy to keep up with her class since all you really need are the slides, which she usually gives to her beadle (if you end up becoming her beadle: HAHAHHA BLESS YOU, IT’S GONNA BE WILDT). You can eat sometimes in her class too (just don’t do it all the time I guess(?)) BUT she’s a pretty okay teacher to talk to if you have any concerns.
Is she A-ble? I’d say it’s difficult, not impossible. A B+ would be more realistic knowing how she doesn’t really give perfect scores and the whole A-ble average would be difficult to bawi.
Hopefully she’s improved as an instructor cause she /is/ new to it and gives less requirements than her class last sem HAHAHAHAmore

Had her last sem. She was a fully online prof pa. Here are my thoughts:
Pros:
- generous in moving deadlines
- grades relatively high
- content of long tests and papers are not too hard (like u can easily find them in the book)
Cons:
- TOO MUCH WORKLOAD. It’s like she forgets we have other classes 😱
- Grades high BUT ur grade at the end of the sem is lower than expected??? 👍
- SUPER LABO. Labo rubrics, labo instructions, labo and contradicting feedback (like she’ll ask u to remove one topic but then her other comment asks u to find a way to incorporate that topic or her feedback clashes w the instructions given like what)
- UNORGANIZED MODULES. Grammar and capitalization are ALL OVER THE PLACE. She also gives you waaaayyy too much materials (opman book, ppt of opman book, her own ppts) and puts all of them in the modules that the information is not centralized in just one place and u get confused on which material u shud actually read (m not saying too much materials is bad but then in this case it is because the lessons are all over the place and it’s harder to locate certain topics lol)
- zoom monitored tests. Long tests are 2 parts - quantitative and quali. The quali tests are asynch but the quant ones are synch. It’s a con cos it’s pointless – in one of our quanti synch tests, she left earlier than those of us who extended and were still taking the test so no one was actually monitoring us 😃. On top of that, she extends these synch tests AF so good luck nalang if u have a class after.
- doesn’t teach. She just reads off her ppts in class. The most she’ll teach are the qualitative aspects of the topics, but when it comes to the math parts, ure on ur own. The book rly helps tho for the math parts but u gotta teach urself.
Overall, it’s a NO for me. Save urself the trouble, way too much workload and it’s not worth it in the end in terms of grades and learnings 😃.more

Hi! She was a new prof last sem and taught DECSC 25 (Creative Thinking & Innovation Management) ! She’s pretty experienced in business and operations, but not much so in teaching 😅
Teaching style: usually reads from the PPTs (all posted), called people randomly for class participation (usually the same ppl tho HAHA), a few group activities here & there
Quizzes/Tests: a few announced & unannounced quizzes about previous lectures or videos, midterms & finals were essay or cases
Requirements: for Decsc 25, it was very requirement-heavy (cases, groupworks, projects), but for some reason her reqs seemed much more than what other sections had 😢 super hassle tbh and she expected a lot from us even if she’d give little time to work on the reqs 😢 She gave reqs as if she was our only class 😢 + instructions were always malabo
Others: never gave free cut (cause she didn’t know she could LOL), checks attendance at the start of class, chill motherly vibes, was pretty lost tbh (probably cause it was her first time teaching in Ateneo)
Overall she was a nice person but personally i could’ve had a better experience !! Can’t say how she’ll be in her second sem teaching POM but hope this helps !! 🙂more

(Asinas) The workload was super heavy for 5% of the grade. Like we had 3 cases ata with full blown paper and preso all for 5% only HAHA. written exams on topics we never even focused on (there was a math/computation exam but we were never given exercises or she never focused on how to solve problems during the synch). Once you make it through that storm though the grades were pretty high naman, A-able with a loooooot of effortmore

shes not that bad!! jus prepare for the tests theyre rly objective and technical but she doesnt really teach them in class (as in her lectures ≠ tests). papers/presentations are b+/a-able! esp w good grpmates:)) the difference between a person who gets an A vs. a B+ is rly just the tests bc of their weight. just review her pointers and book pages, super kaya! easy b+, not so easy A

i took her in my sophomore year and her sessions were ol (idk if same til now). One of the worst classes ive ever taken in Ateneo, sorry but she can’t teach 😭 I srsly didn’t learn anything. Like as in her class made me hate the field rather than be interested in it 🥲 On top of that, her ppts and canvas pages were soooooo incredibly unorganized and wrong grammar / capitalization of stuff which bothered me affff. As far as i rem, there’s a final group proj where u make an operations plan for a company and there were a bunch of long tests. For the long tests, she actually grades decently, which was rly surprising considering i had no idea what i was talking abt. U just need to put in d effort. Medj higher standards sa group proj.
My tip for u is to read the textbook for unclear concepts bc it helps. Get good groupmates as well!

For DECSC 22, she was pretty okay. Discussions were abit heavy and her ppts would reach 50+ slides. Her exams were actually pretty difficult since there was a whole portion (10 points out of 50) for “fill in the blank”. She was lenient about it but it really forces you to memorize and really familiarize yourself with her lectures.
For the company outputs, she provided everything for you. Setting up meetings, linking you with the representatives of the company assigned to you, and even chitchatting with them after presentations (she had a discussion with the representative for our final for like 10 mins).
Shes super super nice and never got mad at our class. Her outputs were a bit heavy though (2-3 presentations per month).
Other than that, i bummed out in her class (got 38/50 and 36/50 for my midterm and final written portion) but still ended up with a 91 (B+)! Majority of people got an A!more

Had her for OPMAN 120. She’s has a lot of slides and some lectures might feel dragging. OPMAN 120 has you analyze the operations of a company for the whole sem, would recommend to do the work early on since her schedule is a bit late. Sometimes, it would be frustrating with her schedule or what her feedback is on your work because she could be confusing. Her tests per modules were okay, B+ to B-able, A-able if you’re super smart but I know people that got near perfect. She’s actually nice and you could talk to her for feedback or extensions. She grades well though.more

She was very confusing and had a hard time navigating canvas. It felt quite messy since shed post ppt in the announcement page and not the module page (plus some ppts were left from previous semesters so you would get confused going through them!).
But she was def super nice and sweet!!! Like it was messy but she was gen trying her best huhu. I think some ppl got an A, but personally it was hard for me to lock in w her bec it was super messy.more

Had her for OPMAN 120. Although her Canvas is a bit messy, she always uploaded slides. Lectures can feel a bit boring but she's very open to questions, feedback, extensions etc. As for grading, she is pretty lenient and gives effort points/partials for incomplete answers. What's important for OPMAN is to get good groupmates and frequently schedule consultations with her, which I believe is how we got an A.
Overall, she's nice and approachable with decent grading. Coursework may be a bit heavy, at least in the first half of the semester, but she is definitely A-able and I personally don't know anyone who got lower than a B with her.more

Hi! Graduating senior here who had Asinas for DECSC 25. Actually, it’s A with effort (Context: I got a B+) pero the heavy part lies in how much work you have to do. She has a number of assessments; however, it’s not that hard to pass. It’s just effort to get a really good grade. Remember the modules and discussions for the tests. Overall, B/B+ able, A with effort. I don’t think you can fail easily unless you don’t do your work. Good luck,!more

Maayos si Ma'm Asinas!
I got an A in her class for DECSC 25. Her lectures are comprehensive but can be a bit boring sometimes. Just recite a lot and make sure she knows you. Her project is also not as tedious as Atun (as I've heard from my friends who took Atun). You'll learn a lot because you'll get to meet with companies, and Ma'm sets lots of consults.
Her exams are also not too hard, just memorize and study well. You can get an A with good groupmates, and being active in class!more
