not quant 34, but quant 160. like what others said, yes, he’s kind. he has this tropa vibes. yes, he limits giving out As. I personally got an A, despite not having perfect scores every quiz/exam.
Always recite/ask questions/volunteer/participate in his games (these are all valid for plus points). I personally don’t like yung pa-games niya. it will make the subject feel lighter but most of the time, it takes up half our time na. sana if it was shorter or related to the topic sana. if may games pa rin siya, still do take advantage of this and be competitive because earning 25 points will grant you a full mark sa class participation grade.
his topics are easy to grasp, he gives ample amount of sample problems naman. he spoon feeds kaya don’t hesitate to ask questions and consult your group’s concerns.
he doesn’t fail (or at least tries not to) unless you don’t show your effort until the end of the sem. before, we had a classmate or two that only attended 4 or 5 sessions, only showing up during exams/presentation having no valid excuses. sir still gave them every chance he could give and the kid passed naman lmao.
with that said, light workload (kahit pa may isa kayong irresponsible groupmate) kaya niyo yan hahaha.
i learned naman sa class niya, though i think i could’ve learned a lot more. he explains the topics as if we were 5-year-olds. he won’t judge if slow learner ka just show that you’re trying.
during his lectures, may times na mapapasabi ka “ha ano raw?” kasi medyo magulo siya magturo
i wasn’t the only one who got an A ah, several of us got it. kaya don’t overthink if he says he limits As kasi he will give it if the student deserved it. our class grew quite tight knit (thanks to his games in fairness) kaya we got to help each other out.
i didnt regret taking his class naman. well wala naman kasing choice. if may other prof na available, and if they’re not boring, get that nalang if you want to learn lotsa stuff talaga

actually sir is super chill! we only had like 2 long tests and honestly they were really hard for me but sir gave us lots of bonus opportunities to bring up our grades. i would just advise u to pick good groupmates bc that was my major stress factor when it came to this class. sir is also pretty lenient with deadlines but he sometimes announces it late or is just so magulo about it but its okay. also for modality, we had one day online one day onsite every week!
another con he doesnt really return ur outputs haha so its hard to tell what ur standing is but trust when i say di ka babagsak. he told us in the start palang that the chances of him giving u an F or a D are super low. just make sure to submit ur requirements on time and pick good grpmates and u'll be good!more

grades: he doesnt fail students unless you really dont submit your reqs. but a con here is that he said he cant give out too many As to students (even if the whole class deserved it) bc it would look like there is grade inflation? majority of us got B+s
teaching style: only teaches the basics and not that effective, his biggest con in our class is that we werent able to learn proper statistics. and yes he does icebreakers before class starts but its unrelated to the lessons
overall a kind prof but we didnt really learn much from him. but he is for the students who want a light workload (we were mainly online and our reqs kept being pushed until some reqs were crossed out lmao)more

hi! Yes I did, if you’re a mis/cs/have experience already in Python, I wouldn’t suggest his class for DESCS 33 since you’ll probably be taking it with SOM students and he would begin teaching from Python basics (lists, tuple, etc:))
His teaching style was just okay, didn’t really learn that much, and only got to learn one machine learning topic which was only self-taught. Really chill prof though!
Overall, wouldn’t recommend if you’re someone who’s willing to learn something newmore

he's kind (not a bully prof) but the most useless prof ever. for a subject like decsci that relies on handouts and practice problems, he was hell. lang kwenta. should've js requested to change sections.more

I know this comment is a week late, but for QUANT 34, you're in good hands. I had him in second sem and I can say that it's genuinely pretty difficult to get a B under him since Sir likes to give a lot of opportunities to earn extra points, especially for class recitation. Quizzes are pretty easy since they're practically the same as whatever is in his slides (tbh the questions are also very common sense AND it's all MC). Oh oh also, to add onto what I said earlier, getting more recit points than the given quota could get you additional points to add to your quizzes! Great prof and funny divamore

based from exp, all assessments were done through canvas and everything multiple choice (50-60 items iirc)—the questions are literally copypaste from his ppt, so as long as u listen and pay attention in class u’ll do fine
modality is fully onsite, but sir is open to switching to online class (just let ur beadle ask, and make sure to show some kind of proof that majority agrees to switch online)
it’s not hard to get an A or pass his class; in fact, u’ll only fail if u literally do not do anything in classmore

like each session we have games as like pampagising which gains us recit points ++ if u’ll volunteer to read like a part in his ppt u get recit points also (even when u ask questions u get recit points)
we wer supposed to have other quizzes/finals but sir asked if we still wanted to do it and siempre we said no so our last requirement was a recorded presentation😆
it was such a chill class that we had more online than onsite kaya when it was pa-end of the sem we had to go onsite kasi we needed to meet d required number of onsite sessions😅

he had a pretty light workload, mostly gave out B+ (he didnt want to give too many As, i personally dont think this is valid bc what if the entire class deserved an A?), flexible in shifting to online classes. we had a lot of online/asynch classes
biggest con is that i didnt get to learn much. he wasnt that great in teaching too, but hes not terror lol. he is kind
take him if you want a light workload, but dont take him if you want to learn substantially. altho im not sure if the workload would be heavier in QUANT 34more
