would not recommend at all, imo he's not A-able
its true that he doesn't give constructive feedback and grades super late. after our first report, we asked him twice, on canvas and in person, to tell us his comments and what parts of our report we could improve on for our second report in the upcoming weeks, but he said we should just wait til he's done checking our papers. he ended up grading our work in the last few days of intersession when both of our reports were done alr and didn't even indicate how we were graded based on the rubrics, nor did he give any constructive feedback, which was questionable
it was frustrating because how would we know where we went wrong diba and our grade suffered because he didnt tell us how to improve according to his standards
workload: for grpwrks we had 1 db, 2 written and oral reports, and 1 infographic. then 1 indiv reflection paper
to end on a good note, he is nice and tries to be funny and he knows what he’s talking about but yeah avoid his class if u can unless u can read his mind and submit outputs to his standard hahamore

Took sir Bennett last year (SY 24-25), most people I know who also took his class got a B+ so I don’t think he grades low, but wouldn’t really recommend him if you want to learn. [Classes]: -Laidback and chill, he taught for the first few sessions but he had so many slides and had a somewhat monotonous and faint voice so it felt boring. -Not strict/terror and makes dry jokes lol -Might call people randomly to share their insights if no one recites. [Workload]: -I’d say pretty light since I took his class during a busy semester. -I don’t remember us having quizzes or tests. -Most tasks were done by group. That’s 1-2 discussion boards, 1 group infographic, and 2 group presentations with a written report. 1 individual infographic. -There were like 5-6 groups, with one group presenting per week. A range of topics per module were given for us to choose from. The presentations have to last for 45 mins and he will be asking questions afterwards. -Deadlines were evenly spaced. Overall, he’s not too bad and extends deadlines if the class asks him to. It’s just that you won’t be getting too much out of his class.more

- throuhgout the sem, he is not quick to return lab reports, only returned the first one, thus idk what's going on with other lab reports that cause my grade to pull down
- makes jokes, not strict
- he teaches (a bit), but unfortunately most of us (or prolly all of us) have to self study our way to deal with long tests
- SPEAKING OF LONG TEST, he's strict asf in checking that one minor mistake costs half to all 10 points in that item, thus there are bunch of us whose scores are below passing in at least one exam, and majority of us are barely passing at all.
Phys 160 itself is understandably difficult, but he makes our experience with the subject more difficult. It makes my motivation to enter this class @ 8 in the morning less and less as time goes on. Thus, he is not the prof I can truly recommend. To repeat what someone said here, NOT GOATED, so if you see his name again in one of the profs teaching this subject, pls pray to st. ignatius that u'll not ended up enlisted to his class.more

I was also the beadle for this class and he really doesn't require much as he does the attendance checking and things like that by himself. And asking for deadline extensions for lab reports went smoothly anyway so no problems there.more

i had him for sts during intersession...he's not naman like terror, his classes can get boring and he might like call you out of nowhere to answer his question (recitation is part of your grade)
honestly you can get by not reciting much (i remember only ever reciting twice in his entire class) and i got a b/b+ in the end. also, at least try to show ur listening bc he keeps stating u don't need to take notes bc he posted everything on canvas
as for grading, he's kinda...unclear when giving comments and he gives them back rly late even if u ask him for any point of improvement he'll tell you to refer to his rubric 😭more

Sir Bennett is, to me, a memorable prof to say the least. I think he does try his best and wants you to learn, but the class has a few glaring problems that make it very, very hard to A. This is a course where interest in the subject matter can help you get through it, in my opinion.more

hi groupmate ! to elaborate, would not recommend
classes: first few classes are a bit dragging, but that might be because we had a disadvantageous room and time (around lunch time in a non-airconditioned room), and the rest are mostly group reports so we carried our own classes. he gives a set of topics you can choose from but you can also give a topic that's related to any of them and it'll be okay. this happens three times in the semester
workload: group reports (both the presentation and the paper afaik), an infographic, and a reflection paper on climate change. manageable
grading: ????? i'd argue that if there's a curve it's downward. he gave little to no feedback for any of our group reports, and those can really pull your grade down because there's nothing else. he also releases grades the day (the midnight) before aisis grade release.

Most importantly, I cannot stress how essential the textbook is to surviving this course. The Canvas glosses over all the topics you need to go through the exam, but the textbook provides all of that alongside more detailed explanations and examples, as well as practice problems to give you an idea of what kind of questions might appear in the exams. The Canvas and slide sets used in class are mostly copied from the book anyway, so studying the book is essentially studying those two as well.more

- Returns assessments very late
- Exams have no partial points - full marks on a question or bust (somewhat balances this by giving easy questions but the questions get progressively harder)

hi! I had him for on-site PHYS 160, he’s one of my favorite profs all time 🙂 really good lectures that he somehow manages to make interesting by inserting kwento and is super understanding when it comes to deadlines, he’s also very kind!
He asked my class if we wanted to have on-site classes during every scheduled class period, but we said no, and he gave us the option to only have classes on Mondays instead of both Mondays and Thursdays
Phys 160 is a bit difficult but he always answered my questions really well even if I felt my questions were kind of dumb
Do note that his class is a bit more difficult than the other phys 160 classes, but I don’t really have any regrets since what I learned in his class helped me a lot for csci 50 lab since it’s very circuit heavy.
