having her as your prof for ENLIT 12 is going to be the one of the best things to ever happen to you during your time here in Ateneo, trust 🤞🏻 Class Management: She provides timely feedback and maintains clear communication both with the class and the class beadle. She’s also super understanding and fair, so you should feel comfortable about expressing concerns because she’ll really listen and find a way to accommodate you :> Workload: My experience with Miss Deidre was that she stepped in as a replacement for our original professor, who went on maternity leave. She followed the existing syllabus and adhered to the tasks and deadlines set by our previous instructor. The quizzes, essays, and readings were all very manageable and, in fact, quite enjoyable, so I found the workload to be light Teaching Style: Her teaching style is all about guiding you to the right answer rather than simply giving it to you. She frequently rearranges the class seating into a circle to encourage more interactive and engaging discussions. On top of that, she provides additional materials that are genuinely helpful in deepening our understanding of the topics. What I especially appreciate is that she never dismisses your thoughts or opinions, even if you're far from the right answer. Instead, she patiently helps you work through it and find your way to the correct conclusion Personal feedback/experience: She was one of the professors at Ateneo who truly pushed me to think both critically and creatively, constantly challenging me to step outside the box. I found myself never skipping her class — and for context, I'm usually quite lazy and a self-proclaimed sleepyhead 😭 That alone speaks to how engaging and impactful her class was, especially for me to get up for her 9:30 AM sessions. All the feedback and lessons I gained from her class have stayed with me and continue to influence my thinking to this day ~ GOATED FR, would take her again and again if I could 😭more

Hello! I would highly recommend it! For this class particularly, her workload mostly consists group works, and onsite quizzes. This class focuses mostly on close reading different types of literature, and personally I've struggled with analyzing the poems, but she's really kind and open to questions. Most of her quizzes are open notes but it definitely requires you to put in extra effort in studying since she grades how well you interpret text and extract evidence. If I were to take her class again, I would definitely practice reading poems and understanding metaphors within context, same with the short stories she assigns as well. Not super A-able, but definitely manageable with extra effort, at least coming from someone who was STEM in SHS. Her class is really engaging, and definitely worth the experience.more
