Had him for ACCT 122 Cost Accounting SY 24-25, 2nd Sem.
His grading system included Midterm Exam, Final Exam, Group Project, Classroom Activities (HWs, Short Quizzes, Class Participation).
Midterm Exam - objective type, multiple choice for all questions. His questions for this mostly came from the quizzes, book, and practice worksheets. I prepared a week in advance.
Final Exam - objective and essay. We had multiple choice but the last part consisted of essay questions. This was a bit more complicated than the midterms but I’d say it’s do-able as long as you spend enough time preparing for it (I did 2 weeks).
Quizzes - a bit challenging but just review the book and module worksheets.
Group Project - Very easy! Pick good groupmates since you’ll be analyzing a case/word problem for this. Make sure your presentation is concise and complete.
Class Participation - Recite at least once in class because he does record every time you recite. There are some HWs and SWs that are by group and individual but they’re easy naman since the questions came from the book.
Teaching Style - He does NOT teach. What he does is he simply asks his students to review the modules before class and during class, he would ask students to answer it without explaining the solution (He uploads the answer keys on Canvas). As my friend and I would describe it, it’s giving “bingo vibes”
He’s not the most approachable instructor especially if you’re from his last class. He has an attitude talaga.
What pissed most of us last semester is that he switched up the grading system at the end. He graded us subjectively for class participation and you could tell that he had favorites despite reciting often in class and doing good on the HWs and SWs.
He made the quizzes have a higher percentage when it was supposed to be under the class participation (10%). He also disregarded the HWs and SWs scores.
He provided one opportunity for extra points (Online submission, no submission) but you could only get 5 points from this.
Overall, his class was a B+/B with effort. By this, I meant studying in advance for the major assessments and keeping up with the modules. His workload and assessments may have been easier than other ACCT profs but his attitude and work ethic is not the best.
Take him if you can self study and have enough patience.more

We had him for FAA 102, he was so moody for no reason?? Example. He uses a lockdown browser for quizzes (which was kinda glitchy on macbooks) and during our first quiz he literally told someone “Bakit ka naka-mac wala kang windows?!”in a really annoyed tone, then got mad because everyone couldn’t use the lockdown browser thing Example 2. During one of our online meetings, he told the class that it was our fault for getting low scores and not studying enough. In hindsight, it may seem like our fault but he did not promote an environment conducive to learning. Again, how can you expect to learn accounting if you’re self-studying? Tbf, he does allow open notes during quizzes but if u’re seriously weak at accounting it won’t help that much. He just reads his PPT so you gotta read the materials in advance but idk abt u despite reading his materials most still failed He calls people in recitations (he shares an excel sheet on the screen which is an attendance + recit tracker) so u gotta read the materials he assigns cuz he will CALL EVERYONE. He will berate you in class if you’re not able to answer, I’m not kidding. He gives % increases in scores but thats because he has a retention rule that midterm and final exam should average to 60% or else you’ll fail the course. The midterm and final grade retention rule is different from your actual final grade. So say, even if you calculate all your assessments to be 70% above, so long as the average of your midterm and final does not reach 60% then you’re still F regardless. Anyway, good luck. He’s a tough one so I suggest start advancing now on the course. You can find some on the internet 😀more

For attendance: he usually doesn't care UNLESS literally 75% of the class starts cutting. Bro will actually crash tf out. He's usually pretty forgiving with attendance but obviously, the cut system still applies. But that's kinda if he takes attendance lol
But aww hell naw. Generally, you really won't learn much from this guy since you'll have to do a lot of self studying. Doesn't really give or upload stuff on time so you'll have to rely on the internet or the large ahh pdf he'll be sending by the start of the sem. Kinda just hops into seatworks every meeting and those'll be the best notes you'll get to study for tests. I don't know about other people, but dude's not very forgiving when it comes to grading tests. Usually malaki bawas niya if you mess up the values even tho tama naman account names, etc. Buttttt tests aren't super bad tho so hey, if you just suck at accounting, then ok gg.
If you're a diligent student who's mega conscious about grades, you're dead. I'm honestly just praying for a B rn. No clue if he plans to curve. I've heard rumors that he used to curve really hard back in the day, but I dunno if he still does that since I think he got in trouble for that.

I suggest during the class discussion. When a friend of mine asked for a clarification right after class she got told “Bakit hindi mo tinanong nung nagdidiscuss ako” or sm similar like that.

had him for acct 115! the short answer is, you really won’t learn anything. the class was marked onsite but we probably only met onsite 3x the whole sem, with the rest being online (where he just played video recordings of lectures from years ago) or async quizzes/LTs.
we had 3 LTs. the first two were online while the final one was onsite and everybody found it super difficult. sir is kind of unresponsive also so don’t expect too much when you’re under him. he’s definitely an easy B to B+ (or even A for some) but it’s not really worth it considering you don’t learn anything and you’ll struggle in the succeeding accounting classes for lacking the foundations cos he doesn’t teach or make a big effort in ensuring his students learn. in the few onsite sessions we had, though, it was a lot of recitation so brush up on the ppts if you can and since gadgets are allowed, google also sometimes to recite!more

hi! just took his this sem and honestly super chill prof. i load rev to his class because my friends that took him all said he was good.
- his lectures get boring but just recite! he grades recitation and whatever he asks is like google-able. (ex. how many % was… last year)
- his quizzes are all online and really chill (sometimes gets hard because one time he had a test for a lesson he never discussed)
- i had him as a Wed class and we only met up half the sessions because he kept making it asynchronous
- has groupworks that adds to the recitation points and bonus for tests
- had like 10 quizzes (all online and open from 8AM to 11:30PM), 1 LT and Finals
- his LT was long but doable. most people got a B to C+
- one of the better accounting profs offered to be honest
- if you want a sit in, ask him beforehand he will get mad and kick them out.
- he checks attendance but later on in the class. you can go an hour late (3 hour class) and he wont care.
overall, i liked his classes and would take him again if i could.more

++ a lot of people failed and are repeating. he REALLY stands by if you don’t get 60% in midterm and finals you’ll get auto F — despite doing well in quizzes and group activities.

Had him for 101.20 and if the experience is the same RUN. The man doesnt teach he just does practice drills all the time so you wont learn in his class. He had to bump everyone in tue class by 20 points sa finals so that less people would fail under him. Genuinely the worse prof I have ever had in my life. i’ve had terror profs before and have survived them but this one is just one of a kind. i’m not exaggerating when i say this is the worst trauma i’ve ever gotten. i would rather do calculus again than have him i swear.
i agree with everyone — he is SO RUDE and MEAN. i couldn’t take my midterm due to NSTP and he got mad at me because i had to do NSTP 😭 i emailed him to inquire for my midterm grade (cos i took makeup and my grade wasn’t on canvas) and instead of just giving me the score, he got mad at me and said he “provided everything i needed and that he has a full day of meetings”.
i genuinely hope ateneo does something about this because the anxiety, stress, and trauma from this prof is not worth it.more
