Both injected writeups say skip the class if the goal is to learn accounting, because he is often absent and hard to reach. The same students still call him nice in person and credit lesson videos. Take only if you already have accounting background, can self-study from recordings, and do not need a present lecturer. Sample is two comments, so this is lean_avoid rather than avoid.

tbh every other accounting prof was bad during our sem so it’s just a matter of choosing the lesser evil 😵💫
similar to other reviews, yes there are times where he’d just ghost us lmao even our beadle couldn’t reach him so it was genuinely so hard to ask questions unless u attend his ftf class. we only met on wednesdays but even so, there were still times where he’d make the class asynch or online, making it much harder to grasp concepts. the subject is very terminology heavy so make sure to study those along with the problem sets on the book.
assessment wise— we had a lot of seat works which was usually due at the end of the period. i’d say it’s doable naman but you NEVER get your scores back so take note of that especially if you’re the type to compute for your grades. our midterms were online and the finals was onsite. it typically involved multiple choice, t or f, and problem solving but i’d say it was relatively easy.
his grading is so ??? tho cause i could’ve gotten an A in his class given all my nearly perfect assessments but i got a B+. you can’t even ask for a grade breakdown because he never replies 😔 (idk anyone who aced his class— even our genius math gods didn’t)
overall, i came from a humss strand and i had to pull all nighters for this class. genuinely not worth it at all ://more

I had him this last sem for FAA 101.10! Honestly the reviews are still pretty accurate 😞
I will say he is a nice guy so if u try to talk to him he’s very understanding and approachable naman but most of the time he doesn’t reply 😃 I communicated w him thru Messenger for most of the sem para mabilis LOL but even then sometimes ghosted talaga
He’s always absent or mentally absent cos as others said nga andami nyang ganap talaga in life. He uploaded vids of each lesson naman which were helpful, he had some examples given also pero minsan mali mali… class is super boring cos everyone is so not engaged and doing smt else on their phones.
Grading wise… idk what to tell u. He didn’t return a single assessment he gave so ur left guessing the whole sem. Idk anyone who got an A from him. I got a B but only cos I feel like he knows me since I msg him a lot. The best u can do is study hard and leave the rest up to God lol. Good luck!!!more

got him for my first acct class in admu. when we had our orientation, okay naman. pero nung tumagal laging walang pasok LOL. parang thrice lang ata nakita ng buong class in person si sir Lopo. i get why he’s absent sometimes cos ANDAMI NIYA TALAGA GANAP IN LIFE. but it reached to a point na parang hindi ko na nafeel na meron kaming accounting class kasi he was absent most of the time.
in my experience, our exams were mostly online, but the finals exam is onsite and pairwork siya if i’m not mistaken. the exams were manageable for me because i was an abm student before. but if you do not have any background on accounting, medyo mahihirapan ka sa kanya because like what i’ve said, wala ka talaga matututunan masyado. expect to self-study a lot.
would i take him again? HARD NO. 😃more

For our class, we only saw him thrice or four times, including the final exam day. He does not give feedback nor the scores on previous exams and seatworks. We had our final grade yet I did not even know my final exam score.
I know that he is knowledgeable abt his subj but he does the bare minimum, maybe even less. I got a B in his class but only because I had to fend for myself and work my butt off.more
