ms. taty barely gave us seatworks and homeworks so, a great majority of your grade will solely come from the quizzes and the final exam. no other tasks to help pull up your grade a little higher. she sometimes gives review sessions (optional to attend) where it’s also like a quiz bee that every student gets the chance to answer and earn points that can be used as bonus points for the quiz.
her teaching style is very fun and engaging. most of the time, before class starts, she would ask us to stand up and dance to the song she plays to wake us up. she’s also very gen z-relatable as she uses words and phrases that make discussions lighter and easier to digest. although she got disappointed in us towards the end of the semester because most of the class did not perform as well and some were failing the subject.
for me, her tests are DIFFICULT!!! although usually in multiple choices, it requires you to gravely memorize important terms, names, and meanings. she’s also heavy on computation, i would say. all in all, i did not enjoy any of her tests, especially the final exam. and for activities, most of the time, we would do them in pairs and sometimes, we were allowed to use our gadgets to research
as for her grading system, she has high standards. i once continued writing an essay on a back page of the blue book and she disregarded all of it. my mistake, yes, so i hoped for a consideration but to no avail. i would say she’s a C+ if you don’t try as much and an easy A if you’re knowledgeable and passionate about chemistry.
overall, she’s a good prof. classes with her are a hit or miss—there are days that she is not moody and it affects the whole discussion but that seldom happens! if i ever failed her class, i personally wouldn’t take her again though. 😅
i hope you enjoy it, if ever. 😊more
