Most of the six attributable rows say take another instructor for COMM 23/24 if you can, and they talk about COMM 193/194 under her as a horror. I wouldn't say that she's the absolute worst prof ever, just know that it will be [edit: VERY] frustrating. Here are things that you need if you do get her:
📌 Get a beadle that's organized and can properly communicate to the class everything she's trying to say (announcements, clarifications, assignments, etc.). Wala kayong magegets if hindi.
📌 Treat her nicely, and try not to sound too pushy when asking for extensions. She operates out of kindness, so if you push her limits, hindi siya magbibigay ng considerations.
She's actually a really nice person, and she's very tita vibes lalo pag nagkwkwento siya. She values the insights of everyone. That's one of the top things that I look for sa profs para gumana ako sa mga subjects, kaya I was okay with being appointed beadle. Yun nga lang her work ethic made it hard for me to like her as a prof.
For someone who has a PHD in Communication, sobrang gulo niya magcommunicate. She replies to me naman within the day, but ang hirap intindihan yung mga sinasabi niya at all times and she gives important feedback on assignments way too late. According to some of my classmates, they had to revise their entire papers more than 4 times kasi di nila maintindihan yung pinapagawa niya. Ako mismo na beadle, I had no idea what was going on because of how unorganized everything was. Expect a lot of "I'll be [doing this and that] later" from her.
There was not a single module uploaded on Canvas—We worked purely out of the Assignments and Announcements tab. Just know that, for some reason, she struggles very heavily with technology. She also was hesitant to give us quizzes because she knows that it's not really the best way to assess yung kayahan ng student. Every topic in the entire semester was only discussed by us, the students. She would give a few insights after each presentation, but honestly, sino ba naman kasi kami para magdiscuss diba? You would prefer that it would come from the professional mismo. She was nice enough for me to go to class, but my brain would shut off immediately because it was such a bore. I didn't learn much from it.
She was nice enough to say though that we're guaranteed an automatic A grade unless we deliberately gave no effort. Hindi pa tapos sem namin now, so I can't vouch for the validity of that, but I can say that she does grade higher than other profs in Ateneo.more

pros: ma'am is very motherly and nice naman, she's also flexible when it comes to deadlines (kulitin niyo siya minsan cos naggive-in naman si maam HAHA) plus easy A siya pero gugulo muna mundo niyo bago niyo makuha yan choz HAHAH
cons for comm 194: she's very unorganized 🥲 like hindi nasunod yung syllabus namin for real kaya nagkandalito-lito talaga kami the entire sem, as for our research topics sobrang gulo din ni maam our group had to change theories multiple times kasi every time we consult maam nagiiba yung mga sinusuggest niya na theories 😭 she barely taught bc she expected us to read the online books that she gave us pero parang wala naman nagbasa cos we're juggling a paper na sunod-sunod dls (chapter per chapter walang preno guys) 🥲 i honestly dont know how my group survived (like we were clueless the entire sem HAHAAH) but m glad we did lol
cons for comm 24: girl we had to present like twice a week, cos maam's teaching method is, she'll have a lecture tapos kami magtutuloy ng sub-topics per module tas after everyone presents we have to present another na comm critique in relation to that module's topic 🥲 sobrang umay na umay na kami cos for the entire sem ganyan ginawa namin, m so happy though cos she grades high naman although its super draining lang talaga and along with that you're also juggling your final paper cos everythibg builds up to that so shaisisiw cry so much
tips:
- CONSULT, CONSULT, CONSULT don't wait for maam na to release her schedule like just initiate when and where cos ayun nga maam is unorganized plus she has other extra-curriculars like yoga (yes every tuesday yoga ni maam HAHA she always shares that w us 😭)
- get good groupmates!! like esp productive ones kasi i swear laziness is ur kalaban here (i used 5/6 cuts sa comm 194 cos sobrang nadedemotivate ako pumasok huhu)
- wag magpapalate cos maam is very strict w this i swear!! di niya palalampasin yan

Ik this bcos once we were talking and she was like now lang daw siya naging Canvas proficient and it’s actually very very helpful daw wahahaha! I’d say she’s pretty much organized when it comes to modules na!For COMM 24, heavy on group work and reporting but I’d say just get good groupmates and ur good. For COMM 24 naman, I remember presenting and our topic was about an illness. In my part, I specifically talked about the potential causes and what it's about. At the end of our presentation, Ma'am said that we did not talk about that when I literally did. So I was so dumbfounded and ended up overthinking about that part.

my class with her was very research based so baka the same for her in this one but i'm not sure so take it with a grain of salt HAHAHA from my experience, she was super unorganized. she would tell us what to do prior writing our chapter, we'd follow, and at the end she would make us rewrite everything according to her comments on the due date itself XD ang chaotic and sometimes ang hirap intindihin ng gusto nya mangyari HAHAHA in my class with her also, she gave grades and comments really late to some groups while already being done with others so ang gulo lang... personally, i would rather not take a class under hermore

Had her for COMM24 which was (surprisingly) a very research adjacent class. She was really unorganized and gives grades/feedback really late. Almost every meeting was a reporting and there were barely any lectures and when there were any the examples she would use would be very farfetched and made things even more hard to understand 😭😭more

Maximize onsite Qs and lean on your beadle
A lot of people get her pre-enlisted so there isn't much of a choice! Here's my 2 cents
- Maximize onsite sessions by asking all questions and clarifications there, about the syllabus, instructions, deadlines, etc. Ask literally everything there so that you get answers immediately.
- Communicate well with your beadle as they'll be the class' lifeline when talking to her (especially with negotiating deadlines)!
- Take note (aka proof) of her feedback and reasons for that feedback whenever you implement changes in your work, just to track your progress and see what's best
- It's likely that you will be with the same group for the whole sem, so once upcoming assignments are mentioned, try to make a master doc and delegate tasks ASAP. This makes it easier for everyone to know what they're doing, especially when (not if) there's a finals cramming session hehe
- It's best to do your own research for presentations, as about 99% of the class is honestly just different groups teaching each other. Most of the learning is from you, aka you get out what you put in
- Recitation, participation, and asking questions for other groups will boost your grade (and have you remembered better lol). Take notes during others' presentations and try to listen well!
- For research, ask for sample papers for guidance format, etc. Or search for your own
- If you have the choice to say no to "playing a game," say no
- Have something to keep you awake during finals
- Good luck and take care yourself HAHAHAHmore
