Is MEDINA, Amor T. for SWIMMING A-able? I'm struggling in her class and I'm put in the beginner's level, would she grade me based on how much I improve? If she's not, what helped you get good grades in her class? Thank you!more

Took her last sem and yes she really values your improvement throughout the sem!! Though, do your part and actually practice for the class esp. if you don’t know the basics but if you do have a hard time, she gives extra attention to those struggling naman (she makes sure everyone can keep up). I didn’t have such a hard time since I already knew basic swimming before I took her but I did prepare for the midterms/finals since I was a slow swimmer with really bad stamina. Basically, just try to prepare and practice outside class hours if you know you need it since she grades fairly high naman (esp. for swim assessments).more

Technically you'll be graded depending on how you perform on the requirements. She has mentioned that she values improvement the most, but I still can not see how this reflects on her grading since she followed the rubric to the t back in my time.
Personal experience: I was lagging behind as a beginner who had no idea what each stroke even looked like before the diagnostics, so I just trained on my free time. I don't have access to private pools, so I would always visit marikina sports complex/center or the ls pool during community hours. Got an A in the end.
I remember I got a C-level number of laps on the 20-laps midterm. Was present on the retaking date after finals and she randomly asked if I wanted to retake. I did and I was able to bump my midterm grade to B+. (She once whispered when we were walking together how I was one of her most improved. I still get kilig whenever I recall that moment.)more
