Sir Cuadrante is a v nice and knowledgeable prof. He has a lot of experience in the industry kaya he really knows what he’s talking about. In terms of workload, we had 1 group paper per week, some dbs, and 1 indiv paper at the end ata (tho the reqs might get spread out na bc of the semestral system). For grading naman, i honestly dk how pero we ended up with a B+ :”) with a little more effort sure kaya A! Overall, he’s a great prof 10/10 would take him again + hes pogimore

Hi! I had her for ArtAp as well last sem! Requirements and Workload 6 Quizzes 2 Group Reportings 3 Position Papers 1 Debate (Incl. 1 Position Paper for this) 3 Individual Tasks (Still Life, Art Writing, Image-making) The workload is rlly heavy. The heaviest module requirement is the position papers (emphasis on papers😭) from Module 3. They are done in groups, so choose your groupmates well, and they will also be your groupmates for the debate. What made this really heavy, aside from the fact that there are three position papers for one module, is that you also have to write a rebuttal for the opposing group and that the deadlines for the papers are not even a week apart. They burnt me out, personally, huhu. Assessments We always had quizzes, almost every meeting🥲, based on the readings. They're always 10 pt quizzes, usually true or false. If there's a quiz that you've missed, she gives a make-up requirement, which is an essay, that you have to write from an event that she suggests. Grading Ms. Amanda have high standards. Her requirements are always graded 10 points, so a point for that weighs super heavy na. It's a hard A, but I think it would be possible if you make papansin in class, like be rly active during classes, make yourself known to her, I believe that will do wonders😭. Tips Like what I mentioned above, make yourself known to her so try to be active in class. And always consult! Given na she has high standards, consulting gives you a gist of what she wants to see in your works and what you could do to improve them. She always allocates a time for consultations, so make the most out of them. Also, Ms. Amanda gives out a bonus point for attending an event or watching a play, so grab that chance. It is just one point pero super helpful na. And I suggest you add that point sa may heaviest percentage na requirement (I think it was the Art Making one which was 20%).more

she's a nice prof if youre really passionate about art. but if you're not into art, taking her would be one of the worst experiences because of how heavy her workload and readings are. she also has high standards so you need to be very careful in writing your papers.more

copy pasting from another post about her: solid prof!! shes super chill and nice, and the classes are super fun and engaging especially since she likes to open the floor for an open discussion. there are quite a lot of readings but they are pretty easy to read, and theres a 10-point quiz for every reading which is very detail focused, but not too hard and usually you can just logic your way to an answer! there were times when i didnt read or just skimmed but still got around 8-9 on my quizzes lol. if you dont wanna do the quizzes about readings, she also allows alternative quizzes for some the projects where you attend an event/talk/etc then write a paper about it! her standards for the projects have been called high, but i honestly think theyre really fair if not lenient lol. she has a really good sense of when a project was bullshitted or not, so just make sure to put in effort, apply the discussions in class, and follow the instructions and formatting well and you should be good! out of the 5 projects i crammed 3 an hour before the deadline and still got like 9/10 lol. shes a writer and author first and foremost (she has a bachelor of fine arts in creative writing) so focus more on your writing than actual art outputs, a 10 minute artwork can still get an A if you can write about it well, ESPECIALLY when you apply concepts from readings and videos and those discussed in class. also, she gives out bonus point opportunities for attending events and shows and stuff like that! definitely a solid prof, an a is possible with effort but honestly even if you just put the minimum needed effort for the class you could still get away with a b+. a lot of people say she has a heavy workload with high standards but honestly most of it is pretty crammable and shes pretty decent at grading.more

had her for media and society (comm 21) and shes vvv chill compared to what i saw before sa reviews shes tried to be engaging esp with current trends, always assigns group works, quizzes (but are announced), BEST CONSULTATION (she gives u specific comments and suggestions talaga), and she has GOOD vibes (her aura ++ HAHAH) got a B+ cus of my quizzes but other than that she grades fairly A-able?? I THINK but lowest Bmore

hi! i had her for comm 20.03 and she was honestly really understanding and chill - had short quizzes every other week but it only consisted of 1 question or 4 true or false. this was done in the first 10-15 mins of class. - she only has 2 papers (1 being optional if you are not satisfied with your score in the 1st one) and a final paper - group presentation: make it entertaining and make sure to get a good group - she grades the tests fast but the papers take a while - she secretly takes attendance (never knew bc she used index cards and never called anyone) so go. - Very understanding and you can easily consult with her (dm her on canvas and she usually responds in less than an hour) - She teaches well and does not force anyone to reply. - She is not strict even though you fall asleep in class (had an 8am lol) Anyways, i would 100% take her again if i could because she is so nice and teaches well.more
