he's okay naman! the classroom is in bel and he talks a bit softly so minsan hindi rinig yung sinasabi niya. medyo boring yung teaching style niya and in a bel classroom you might get sleepy, but he's g for consultations to help you understand the concepts better. surprise quiz for every lesson, and then 3 exams (two written, the final is oral). he provides lecture videos din both from him and other sources. before every exam, there's a day for reviewing the concepts (v helpful actually in gauging the way you can go about your exam answer since essay siya). i got an A (i locked tf in), but i'm sure he's very B+ - able with medium/moderate effort. phenomenology is more on experiences, so i think illustrating examples from your own life will really help you in quizzes and exams. good luckmore

Oral exam: pick cards, then explain a thesis
he uses playing cards! each card with a number corresponds to a specific thesis statement, so like the ace card is the first thesis statement and so on... until the ninth thesis statement. you choose two cards, then you can choose between the two of them. once you draw the cards, you don't have a few minutes to prepare anymore (do this before choosing na lang), and then your timer starts once you read the thesis statement. you have 15-20 mins (i can't remember) to explain the thesis statement along with providing examples and answering sir's question/s also, sitting down exam siya. don't worry, he's not scary with orals since soft spoken naman talaga si sir in general HAHAHAHA it's almost like ur reciting in class lang except it's an exammore

if you want a pretty okay prof, he’s not that bad! he’s not life-changing but he doesn’t grade terribly ^^ minsan nag-aasynch siya and he sends recordings! his lectures aren’t super duper amazing, try aiming for a seat at the front so you can hear him better bc i struggled at the back 😭 there’s surprise quizzes so make sure to do readings in advance! it’s pretty easy naman though :> he’s a-able i would say! orals are actu chill :> he does make the class do a group review for thesis statements for philo orals towards the end of the sem, and they’re helpful!! he builds on them para u know what he wants rinmore

i took his class last sem and it was pretty chill. tbh i didnt listen to a single lecture and i studied by chatgpting all the readings. i got a B from his class with no effort, i studied for the LT’s 1 hour before the test and 3 hours total for the orals. honestly its hard to listen in his class if you aren’t a diligent student like me or have no passion for philo. JUST chatgpt all the readings and u will be fine with at least 1 hour of prep time.more
