She’s one of my favorite profs!! Honestly, I took her 6:30-8:00 pm class, so medyo pagod na talaga ako since my class starts at 8 am, so yung sched kay Ms. Piamonte yung last class ko for the day. BUT SHE MADE EVERYTHING BEARABLE. She doesn’t require you to recite every meeting, but she would assign you to a group wherein you will be graded for your individual recitations (based on readings), and it is scheduled until the end of the semester pero it would be helpful for you if you would still participate even if you’re done since Miss likes to hear your insights and opinions about the topic. (idk if she would still do this, but this is my experience with her class) I thought at first that Philo would be overwhelming to me, but she made it light and fun to learn. For the workload, kaya naman. I didn’t encounter any difficulties sa requirements na pinapagawa niya, and most of her tasks are per group ++ she grades high and fair naman. Just make sure to read the assigned readings, but not to the extent that you will pressure yourself to finish everything. Kagaya nga ng sabi ni Miss “nasa sainyo kung magbabasa kayo o hindi” 🤣 One tip that I could give is always pass your output on time and answer all the dbs on or before the deadline ^^ Take notes every discussion if kaya! Pero she provides the PowerPoint presentation naman in case you want to go back to the discussion. The final Exam would be an oral exam per group (she will choose your group mates). I thought it would be hard and intimidating, but if you would prepare for it and go back to the readings and discussions, you’d do well, especially since Miss is not the type of professor who would make you pee in your pants during oral recitation. All in all, fave ko talaga siya, and if given a chance, I would take her class again. She makes the 6:30-8:00 class schedule less tiring!! Not strict and terror. Parang nakikipag usap ka lang sa friend mo during discussions. Maganda siya kapag fluent ka sa Filipino or if mas gusto mo mag take ng Filipino class, but she’s understanding naman if you can’t speak fluently ^^ A/B+-able! i love her 😭 took her for onsite ethics! her discussions are very engaging and she likes to throw jokes and pop culture references in her classes to keep people engaged (for one of our sessions, our reference material was batman HAHA). she’s very approachable and replies quickly to any questions and concerns the class has. makes it easier also to just course your concern through your beadle!
she has quizzes, papers, group discussions, and a final exam, all of which are paced well imo! make sure to take down notes during sessions, theyre really helpful for assessments and future discussions! as for reqs, just submit on time and your grade will be fine. pro-tip: volunteer for beadle! she gave the beadle of our class a free pass to submit reqs late (which is why i volunteered) HAHAHA
my only concern with her is how she calculates the final grade…tbh i was expecting higher than the grade i got especially because when i calculated it, i should have gotten an A (despite the grading system she puts in the syllabus, i think quizzes weigh much more than she indicated so do good in those) but tbh the classes were really worth it and ma’am is a great prof! still B+/A-able and i actually learned a lot! 10/10 would recommend her ♥️more

she gives a mix of both! personally i just plugged it in chat & made it explain in english for the fili readings. js as long as u understand the readings its all that matters (theres no terms or concepts/ objective stuff u need to memorize iirc)more

Got her last year. Engaging discussions, light workload (one or two short papers, one or two group presentations, no quizzes, one graded recit for the entire sem*), group orals. Very accommodating and kind. Sets fair deadlines, too. Tip: volunteer as a beadle. She lets you choose what module to recite for and form your own group.
*She may still call on people time to time during discussions but there's no pressure. She just asks for your opinions or thoughts.more

Also group forums are around every other module as well!! Mostly it's during both onsite or online classes where she'll ask you to work together on an output that you can submit asynchronously. You might stick with one group throughout the entire semester and it's randomized, as that's what we had!!
Final oral exam will require you to answer a single question lang in a matter of minutes, but the catch is that it's from a randomized set of prepared questions about all the topics discussed throughout the semester. Best to keep notes of important points early on so you won't need to make a reviewer of the sorts, and also great to encode the important points she includes in her presentations!! :DDmore

Hi! I took her online and she’s a pretty chill prof! The class in general had lots of readings but she was able to discuss them during synchronous classes in a simple manner so you could get by without the reading. She also has easy and minimal requirements, relatively light workload. Only one essay or db per module. Her quizzes are also relatively easy as long as you take note of important stuff during the discussions. The finals are orals and she’s super chill about it, you’ll be fine as long as you prepare adequately hehe. Overall she’s a nice prof, friendly and approachable, and grades pretty high ☺️definitely a able with effort!more

Took her for onsite Philo 13: Ethics!! Definitely B+/A-able as Shawn said, and her requirements are very manageable. She's also very approachable, and her onsite discussions are always engaging and helpful in understanding the readings better!
She also has quizzes I think every other module, and they're very specific when it comes to details. Sometimes you need to remember the exact quote for you to get the item right, but not so difficult naman since she also includes the most important points in her presentations which she uploads.
Her classes are usually late in the evening (iirc, our section was the 5pm-6:30pm class, and she still had another section for the 6:30-8pm timeslot), so if you live on campus or nearby, it's not so bad to take!! As for outputs, she enjoys good writing and understanding of the topic as her criteria, and sometimes she also wants you to relate it to personal experiences or current events. She always calls on everyone during each onsite class, be it through attendance checking with ice breaker questions or during the discussion itself, but the questions are fairly subjective!!
Definitely a must-take prof if you want to genuinely enjoy learning Ethics 🧡 loved this class so much!!more

I took her class online and enjoyed it overall. Her requirements are Quizzes, Group Forums, Text analysis and Lecture Digest, and a Final Oral Exam.
From what I remember her Quizzes are okay and are usually multiple choice, some have essay, one had matching type.She also gives practice Quizzes which arent graded and are similar to the graded Quizzes.
Group forums on the other hand are discussion boards. These are individual and are done in breakout room sessions in class. You will discuss the answer to the question to the db with people in your assigned breakoutroom then come up with your own answer.
Text analysis and Lecture digest are individual papers about certain topics. I remember she grades relatively high for these requirements (3-4).
She does not give thesis statements for her oral exams so you have to prepare for everything. She B-B+ able.more

SUPER DUPER RECOMMEND! I love her so much! Sobrang entertaining ng lectures and she really wants to know your insights on different things. Discussions are very engaging kasi isa-isa talaga kami tinatawag for attendance. But no pressure! Sometimes I just bola what I say kasi I don't always read the readings HAHAHAHA but that's enough na. Took Miss Piamonte for onsite Philo 13: Ethics and she's genuinely a great prof, very understanding, relatable and has a well-structured class that has requirements that make sense. She's Batch 2-able because her classes are really late since she also teaches at another school
The requirements took the form of either short one page essays, discussion forums that were either online discussion boards or legitimate in classroom discussions, and a final oral exam that was done online. She had some fun requirements like one where you had to watch the Dark Knight and make a paper about Batman/Joker's philosophies
For the oral exam, you get a random question/problem to solve about ANY of the topics covered so far. Not gonna lie, some of the questions REALLY vary in difficulty but she graded high for the most part regardless
Should be moderately easy B+/A as long as you pay attention in class and put good effort into everything. Highly recommend and was one of the highlights of the first sem back onsitemore

I love Ms. Piamonte! I took her online last sem. She summarizes the difficult readings in her lectures and she adds insights that are quite interesting. Her quizzes and (short) papers are pretty okay since it's based on her lectures. We also had orals for our finals but it was okay naman since her questions are all about stuff she discussed. Workload wise, it's quite manageable since her required papers are not that long and her quizzes and orals are kaya naman. For grades, she's A-able as long as you listen to her lectures and pass all the reqs hehe 😄more

mother! she’s very organized and very lenient sa students. yes, english ang philo 13, altho she also communicates in fili and allows you to code switch (in recits only, not in submissions). also, usually her classes are in the night talaga so it may sometimes be boring pero her high energy always compensates for that hehe. workload is very very light. there are only some dbs, a required recit, some papers, and a final orals (which is group btw). hindi rin masyadong high maintenance ang class niya :)) grading: very easy A, as long as walang late submissions and you slay the final orals. goodluck,! you’re in really, really, really good hands!more
