Genuinely one of the best professors I’ve had the honor of being taught by during my stay in Ateneo so far. Took her for my POLSC 20 and 21 back in my first year, and though I’m unsure of how she teaches SocSci 14, I don’t think her approach will vary that drastically.
- Overall manageable workload, can get heavy at times due to the assigned readings, but nothing overwhelmingly unrealistic or undoable in-between class days. The “heaviness” was moreso due to the nature of the class rather than Miss Trixie’s teaching style, which is really as simplified as you can get without losing any of the key concepts.
- Speaking of her teaching/lecturing style, again, she simplifies a lot of concepts for you and generally makes the readings digestible. However, don’t rely solely on her lectures — she also would like for you to actually take time to understand the readings, so set some time aside to read and process them. Some items we had in our quizzes were from the readings, others from her onsite lectures. She shares her PPT slides as well, but don’t rely solely on them.
- Super, super, SUPER understanding and always willing to lend you a hand, so don’t hesitate to ask her for clarifications and for consultations. She has such a passion for the class that she’ll transmit to you as well, but beyond her role as a professor, she really cares about her students. She was such a point of reference for me during my first year (still is up to now!) and she’s quite lively and motherly to her students :))
- You get the grade you deserve, quite literally. It’s hard to fail Miss Trixie’s class unless you do and submit literally nothing because of how understanding and accommodating she is. She will give you all the chances you need to get a good grade or to recover from a bad one. She gives some bonus activities.
- She’s willing to move deadlines naman, but don’t abuse this; she’s accommodating when she can afford to be, but she’s also firm on her ground rules and non-nego deadlines.
- She’s A-able, but not an overwhelmingly easy A. Somewhere in the middle ig, but IMO she grades very fairly.
Overall, I absolutely recommend and vouch for her! I hope you’ll enjoy her classes as much as I did 💌more

Hii! Took Ms Trixie for a POLSC course during last year's first sem and TLDR she's a super easy going and well-organized prof.
I'm not sure if what I'm gonna say here will translate to her SOCSCI classes but, she usually assigns readings (honestly it's up to you if you wanna read em or not) and would give a quiz after every module (usually based on the readings and her lectures).
Her onsite lectures basically simplify and breakdown the contents of the readings since the readings can be quite wordy and tedious.
She's also very open when it comes to consultations, usually comments on things she'd wanna read on your outputs/essays. Workload wise, I think her course was pretty light, iirc we only had 4-6 quizzes throughout the entire sem, midterms and for our finals it was a group essay.
Overall, she's a lively, sweet, and understanding prof. She made my 8AM classes bearable and if I could retake her again in any other class, I WOULD. You're in good hands, OP!more

hii, i can't really remember if the recitations were graded (i'm so sorry i barely checked the syllabus about it😭), but from my experience she likes it when the class participates. u don't really have to be super knowledgeable about the material in order to participate cause she also appreciates when u apply little details from ur lessons to real-world scenarios, it could be the smallest details even!!
tip lang, just go thru the syllabus for the details such as rubrics and graded recits kasi her syllabus is pretty straightforward naman and she also doesn't like it when students ask questions that are answered by the syllabus na. aside that, she's a sweetheart!more

ohh and to add, she's a-able naman with effort. for our advisory marks i actually got an F because my quizzes were pretty bad (but that's because i wasn't really able to find a study method that worked for me by the first months of classes) but i ended up pulling through and got an A as my final grade in her class hehemore

Very manageable workload, and she teaches well and tries her best. Very approachable if you need help and have a problem. Her lectures are good but are only supplementary to the readings which I think is ideal

she’s one of the best profs i’ve ever had! i had her for polsc 20 & 21 so i’m unsure sa teaching style niya for socsc 14
workload is manageable. the readings are quite heavy but her lectures usually summarize/synthesize the readings. however, i don’t recommend to rely lang sa lectures since some of her quiz items are from the readings
she’s really understanding and approachable and halata talaga na she cares so much for her students !! she’s very helpful and insightful sa consultations
she grades fairly but not that hard to get an A
i’d take her again if given the chance! you’re in good hands :))more

maybe it's just me nitpicking, but it can be hard to follow her lectures onsite when she's sharing her ideas bc the way she talks can be quite confusing. she uses a lot of filler words so you really have to filter through that.
but can vouch, she's really good all in all. very generous, please try to read her readings bc they're informative naman talaga. tho if ure busy, it wouldn't really matter cos the readings are only complimentary to the slides & discussion. just listen in class & avoid being absent if u wont readmore

Great prof! Had her last year for SOCSC14. Discussions were fruitful and insightful. Assessments are manageable. We had short essays, short presentations, and discussion boards. There was also an individual synthesis. Bulk of the grade would come from the advocacy paper that you will write the whole semester. Take advantage of the consultation as she is super eager to help you improve you paper. Frankly, there are no stupid questions to her cause she is open to all inquiries.
