Lots of reqs in a short quarterly sched

Took her class 2nd sem last school year (2020-2021), and personally it was not an experience that I enjoyed. There were a lot of requirements that needed to be done despite the short timespan of the quarterly sched, and even when we expressed our concern about the amount of reqs, she just reasoned and told us this was because she didnt want to short change us in our learning. If im not mistaken her quizzes are also structured in a way that you cant go back to the previous question, so you really have to be 100% sure when taking exams. The modules for me were also quite long, and the amount of content was just too much at times given the platform. We had 3 quizzes, 2 papers (one indiv and one group) and many canvas activities (disc boards, graded activities, etc) Some discussion board activities require watching a 30-40min video, or the like so thats kinda eh not the worst prof by any means becuase im sure there are much worse, but i wouldnt take the class again and i def wouldnt recommend to anyone edit: i think it's important to state that I got an A in this class, but at what costmore

Hi ! I took her 2nd sem last year. In terms of workload, i’d say okay naman. She was willing to adjust some deadlines. In terms if readings, medyo mahaba slight pero kaya naman. I didn’t finish all the readings tho cuz the modules explained it better so like ,, why bother ? Work smart not hard In terms of exams, hindi pwede balikan yung items HAHDHSNAJA IDK WHY OH MY kapag naman f2f, nababalikan naman yung question sa test paper. I do recommend you to attend sync sessions. I honestly remembered the things she said non. And insightful lessons niya during syncs. Also, note lang, i was her beadle. Honestly, maayos naman kausap si miss. She was nice to me naman nung nag uusap kami. BIG NOTE ! Pls do address issues using the proper protocol. She got kinda disappointed nung we had a reklamo na hindi muna umabot sa kaniya. Understandable naman. Overall, i’d say miss is okay. B+ able. A-able with a little more effort. Good luck !!more

TLDR; Definitely A-able with some effort. Workload was reasonable naman imo but yes you need to watch the deadlines but this might be different in a semestral setup since all revs on her abt her in the online setup are from a quarterly sched. If her workload doesn’t change, then it’s definitely manageable. Modules, albeit some lengthy, contained all the information you need for tests and papers. Grades quite high as long as your papers make sense and incorporates the teachings. I don’t really remember finishing a reading she gave HAHAHAHA because the modules were really comprehensive like that. Tests are like what everyone said: they’re in a way na you can’t go back to the previous question, HOWEVER, you are given I think 2 attempts so you can always just note down where you went wrong since iirc, you can view what questions you answered wrongly after each attempt. Can’t say anything about her syncs since I didn’t attend any.more

hello! to tell u the truth, i didnt even have notes for orals i just relied on my stock knowledge that i gathered over the sem and miss gave me a 19/20 pa rin (since its an oral, she multiplies that by 4 so my orals grade is 76/80 which is vv high) all i can say is just show how passionate u are in what ure blabbering about and js be prepared to defend ur answers! she'll defo ask follow ups until ur time ends best of luck op, ik u'll do great!more

HAHHAHA sure afaik if u took her written exam, u'd have to answer 8 questions worth 10 points each (or 10 questions worth 8 pts each, cant rlly recall na) hence why the orals score is multiplied by 4 para same weight sila sa written the difference here tho is that unlike orals where u'll only defend two thesis statements, u have to answer all questions on the exam paper within less than 2 hours yata and i think miss has higher standards for written exam given that she rlly prefers orals para mas makita nya raw "genuine" side momore

In terms of teaching style itself, she will say so many questionable things but also a lot of quotable quotes. Best is to just nod along and look like you agree. Unfortunately, she's very judgemental too. Had multiple instances in class where my classmates were just existing but she decided to call them out for it.more

Very conservative and unpredictable. She'd call out certain students for such random things (mainly the women) about dress code or attitude. She bases a lot of her teachings on the slides/readings compounded with her own faith so you get Theo stuff sprinkled in with a lot of conservative talking points (just nod nalang there's no point arguing 😭) Her finals for us were orals (usually by pair) and funny story, one time I failed to articulate my last point correctly so she TURNED BACK to my partner and had him answer even though he was already technically done and graded 💀 very unpredictable Just try and pass this class, maybe aim for a B or higher, but don't lose braincells over it 😭🙏more

i was one of her beadles during second sem last sy (got an A hihi) and can i just say that u dont have to feel pressured by ur canvas grade because she may actually bump ur final grade a letter up if u do well (e.g., just being a nice and participate student towards her coz she rlly does appreciate such ppl) i would highly vouch orals for your finals (it's easier kasi u only have to defend two thesis statements compared to written exam) telling u this para di ka kabahan if below running A ka basta just do your best and as cliche as it may be, god will do the rest!more

Doable Theo 11 quizzes if you keep notes handy

Hi! I had her for my Theo 11 last year (got a B+). She mostly did online quizzes and tests for my time (not sure if she changed it now). As for the quizzes, they covered both the readings and the lectures, and some (I think three for mine) had questions at the end that you needed to elaborate on from the readings and lectures. It's doable, but I recommend keeping a note/outline beside you when you do the quiz, as there is a time limit. The rest of the assessments were primarily papers, as I recall. If I remember correctly, she liked it when you relate the lessons to your application in your personal life. I hope this helps! :))more

hi! i took her class 1st sem last year. her workload was okay ig, pero some readings were sooooo long and i didnt even bother to read some of it (i passed naman HAHA) the exam questions are parang easy-average BUTTTT hindi pwedeng balikan yung other items which i had to learn the hard way during the first quiz 🥲 sync sessions are not required naman like other classes BUT she does say some things during the lecture which will likely appear on the tests. overall, an okay prof, not the best but definitely not the worst. a-able with effort.more

modules are really long and feel like indoctrination rather than theology (imho). the essays actually you to apply the things read in the module, and possibly go beyond it by looking for more sources. sinabi na nila sa taas abt her reqs. The deadlines are unforgiving, so you need good time management in her class. if you meet her conditions, she gives high grades naman pero v specific about them. Her course demanded more than our major subject too so that didn't help. Overall, she demands a lot from her students in terms of requirements, the way she grades, synchs(since she randomly calls out people to answer). But if you meet them, you get a pretty good grade Def A-able or B+, but man is it a painmore

was her beadle and took orals instead of written exam for finals! all i can say is just be passionate with whatever thesis statement u get and miss will surely appreciate this! she will give u a chance to clarify what u have said and make sure to maximize this since after all, 20 pts lang yung orals but ur final score is gonna be x4 of this (in my case, i got 19/20 so mh final score was 76/80) in toto, u'll be fine for as long as u dont pretend to know stuff u dont know and just show how much uve learned through her class best of luck,!more

Honestly you don’t need to worry so much abt her orals, as long as you got a gist na of everything she taught in class. You don’t need to tryhard when reviewing since madaling ibola naman gotta be fr HAHAHAHAHAH (as long as you listened and paid attention in class). I got like 72/80? and I barely rehearsed anything at all, so you don’t need to put so much effort into it, unless balak mo talaga maka perfect score. The questions are pretty straightforward, and simple and if ever you get kinda lost she will help guide you toward the answers, so difficulty wise it ain’t demanding naman although I suggest you still go through the slides and your notes just to refresh your memory on the teachings.more
