i’ve had ms. kim for organic chemistry laboratory 1 and 2. and as a chemistry major, i dreaded the first semester i encountered her. having an A or a B+ is impossible or it requires total max effort masters level effort to get. for laboratory, she is so meticulous and she often goes around the lab asking about what you are currently doing and she can have a passive aggressive behavior. she also likes to micro manage everything so be always mindful of your setup. the post-lab is where we died. she grades so low and so bad as if she’s looking for a peer-reviewed journal. she also grades everything, from your pre-lab to post-lab, and leave your A and B+ aspirations. she returns your post lab naman and if you get what she really wants, you will be graded what you deserve. she was better during our second semester because maybe she is familiar with us. the pros are she sometimes provides us additional points like bonus questions in quizzes. she guides you naman sometimes just don’t mind the passive aggressiveness. overall, B+ with super duper max effort. i don’t know someone who got an A.more

she's very meticulous. she goes around the lab occasionally to comment on your set up and/or ask questions about it. she guides you naman pero you'll notice she's quite passive aggressive with her comments 😭 she's also the same way with grading postlabs and prelabs. she really goes through your work, so you have to be careful and put genuine effort into what you write because she does not grade high... you may think you're a good writer coming in to her class but once the first wave of postlab scores hit you'll think otherwise 🥲 however, ma'am ceniza is a really organized prof! she'll have a complete breakdown of your standing by the midterm mark, wherein she'll advise you on how to pull your grades up. (by the second half of the sem, she'll also be more lenient with grading and tends to give away bonus points). she returns schoolwork at a reasonable period. tl;dr very meticulous and organized prof who'll give you a grade you deserve (albeit on the lower end); b+ able with high effort, b-able with sufficient effortmore

hehe tbf i got high grades from her, and here are some tips: 1. expect that your first two prelab and post labs will have many comments so use those as opportunities to gauge what to improve in your next outputs. when you get what she really like in terms of writing, she will give you high marks. 2. basta memorize the whole experiment and try to follow what your prelabs says about the flow of the experiment. she constantly checks everyone inside the lab so be ready to answer some of her questions talaga. 3. there is a quiz before the labs so learn the theory. and sometimes she gives some bonus points. 4. i feel like you’ll survive maybe it was just her innate chemist that was strict because we were literally chemistry students 5. she is kind naman like she also gives us gifts and stuff. also she’s lenient when you have sickness and will try to move some deadlines for you.more

make sure to review for her prelab quizzes well, all of the questions can be studied from the manual naman. carefully apply all her feedback for the succeeding prelabs and postlabs, the first ones would almost always have a relatively low score but most of the time your scores would increase once you heed what she is looking for. tbh you'll just get better with managing your outputs as the sem goes by 😭 you just kind of get used to it by the midterm mark hahaha (she doesn't really fail unless you actually don't pass your work) good luck, op! u can do it 🙏more

you’ll learn a lot from her even though her standards are high. Our batch became good (if not great) with our lab skills because of her. The workload is manageable. Just do your best and prepare ahead before the class! B+-able with effort:))more
