hes boring...... but he tries i guesshis readings are not heavy but u will have quizzes on them so u will need to read. bawal gadgets so u will need to take notes.. idm but he has some slides parang fully taken from the readings (huge blocks of text lol). for his LTs u have to print at least 2 readings na u will have to write an essay on in class. di ko maalala if may multiple choice din but i think there was?? he has short assignments on canvas. just dont bullshit it bc he really reads them. theyre super easy tbh, i got perfect scores cramming them, but i remember after the first one, he told the class na halatang minema lang ng iba or something like that.hes just very very very mid to me he was so boring it actually pissed me off HAHAHAH kaya di ako naganahan na mag-effort sa klase niya kaya i got a B+ but i THINK he can be A-able. after half of the sem, i didn't even listen to him anymore and barely took notes. i just relied on the readings + canvas modules. he really does try to make the class engaging naman but ehhhhe's pretty fluent in filipino and will use full tagalog so baka mahirapan ka if not fluent. take this with a grain of salt bc i'm not rly sure abt this since i'm fluent namanmore

took him last 2nd sem, he's my goat fr chill af he js doesnt let u use ur phone but workload is totally manageable!
he has a bunch of objective short quizzes with around 5 items (some r surprise f2f, some r online with 3 tries) that r super easy if u know basic facts about the text (characters, setting, mentioned proper nouns and stuff)
he has a midterm and final each with multiple choice and essay portion but both not too hard if u review facts like for the short quizzes. for the essay portion he releases texts to analyze in advance so u have time to think of a response
he also has some other misc assessments and a paper about the play u will be required to watch but also not too heavy! he gives some bonus opportunities also from talks and i recommend doing at least 1 if u want a guaranteed A.
absolutely A-able especially if ur classmates work together to note facts about the texts, authors and about the assigned readings for midterms and finalsmore

EZ B or A. Really chill and funny prof just dont be late or marked absent ka na. He curses more than Duterte but thank God he's much nicer. Quizzes are short but are usually every class most of the time (based on essays about random topics he'll make you read from the book). His other quizzes and assessments are online, and are easy to do. He has high standards tho when grading early drafts for your paper so try to give extra effort for your draft to get a high early starting grade. He also gives a lot of bonus point opportunities, so finish em all for a sure A. We never had Long Tests also, so yeah, mostly short quizzes, online works, and papers siya. Fave Quote: "Kung magkaka D ka pa pagkatapos ng mga bonus points na to putangina hindi ko na alam". :)more

actually quite nice, tries hard to be funny nd relatable. everythings reading-based so make sure u do read them. he gives little 5-item quizzes sometimes before discussing a reading so just make sure to memorize small details from the reading. gives a lot of bonus papers & v helpful insights in consultations so make use of that

(take this lightly because i wasn't in class most of the time HAHAHAH) Cerda's a pretty cool prof. He gives short 5 point quizzes every other meeting, which will always be about the readings he assigned (try to remember names/ figures). He grades fairly + he gives alot of chances (last sem, he gave us around 5 papers to submit for bonus points + he allows you to revise your graded drafts for higher scores). Lecture-wise, he would always just explain the reading more thoroughly; he gives good insights but other times he can be hella boring. Very A-able, just try not to sleep (or cut).more

He's chill and gives so many bonus papers. Easy A siya. He's boring (except for the times when he says something like...Wassup, my nigga, yung mga racist na gago, xenophobic na asshole, shit, fuck, etc.) He talks casually so it's easy to understand his classes. Just read his readings in order to do well in his quizzes. I didn't do really well in his class, but I got an A as a final grade because of the bonuses. And never be late, if you're late...that's a full cut. He has a bitch resting poker face. Hahahaha. :)more

And I think consulting with him goes a long way as well. It'll give him a chance to warm up to you (which may or may not affect your grades lol), and he's also a lot friendlier/more chill outside of class. Had him for half of Fil 12 (because my original prof had to take a pregnancy leave or whatever) and I was reeeaaally bored in his class. I'm not really good in Fil, but I surprisingly did pretty okay in his class naman. Make sure you read whatever he tells you to. He is strict when it comes to attendance so make sure you get there on time or earlier than him. ALSO, don't even try to stalk him. Please. I had a classmate who did and shared stuff with the rest of us. Your eyes will hate you. :((((more
