SOLID PROF, serious class, generous bonuses

SOLID PROF !! had him last year and from the get-go he makes it a point to take his class seriously, and it's really the best you can do to get a good grade from his class. he doesn't curve but he's pretty generous with bonuses (at least in our class). also vv nice, albeit intimidating at first. for assessments, he does written quizzes, a midterm essay, and an oral final. he's pretty strict with the wording on his quizzes so make sure to read the material he assigns and understand what it's trying to convey. the midterm and the final are done by group and it's the biggest chunk of your grade. best advice is to maximize your consultations with him to ensure that what you're doing is aligned with what he's looking for. he's very generous when it comes to feedback just make sure that you take everything seriously and that you do the work on time. for classes, he's very pertinent when it comes to reading. he emphasized that he doesn't like it when students don't read. he's also not strict with gadgets in class — i started the sem with a pen and paper but as the discussions went on i gave up and used my laptop LOL. just make sure to listen bc he does get mad when he catches you talking during his lectures. he also does recits (not graded) for class participation, like reading the slides and asking for your interpretation on what the assigned reading material is. overall, his class is structured super well. as someone who was p hesitant with theo, i think he set a good foundation of my understanding on how admu approaches their theology courses !more

update: I had him for first sem this year Theo 11 Kenjie for me was a scary prof to have but deep down I think he isn’t the worst of them all. He just has a really strong personality and it was hard to deal with sometimes. He has an extremely short temper so do not even attempt to talk for long in his class unless you want to be kicked out. But during consultations he was actually really approachable and understanding. He tell you what he expects and what to change so def take advantage if he give out consultation! His quizzes are super short like they’re all only 1 question and you need to answer in 5 lines of pad paper only. Anything more than 5 lines he will not read. And the questions are just based on the reading so make sure you understand it really well. However sometimes his questions are unpredictable, one time he asked for the 10th footnote of the reading so also just be prepared for that. Overall though kenjie isn’t the worst prof ever. Just don’t be intimidated by him. He shows concern naman for his students and deep down I think he loves us naman HAHAHHAHAmore

he's a challenging prof for sure! his lectures are quite interesting and you will be sure to be a bit confused and challenged but it's worth thinking about and listening to. he has high standards so make sure to research your projects well. He has quizzes for all the readings so read up and review before each one. His orals were alright as well, just make sure to practice and know your content. biggest tip is to not use any of your devices in class as he's quite strict about them. I usually brought a pen and paper instead of using a laptop for notes. engage in his discussions as well especially when he asks questionsmore

The GOAT. Kenjie can be strict at times and sometimes intense with his discussions. But he does offer understanding and kindness as a younger Proff. His quizzes were heavy on the students doing the readings, so be sure to read them thoroughly. Don’t make the mistake of answering quizzes with personal interpretations( I did that and got low😭). Dont be afraid to say that you don’t know the answer in discussions, he’d much prefer an honest response than just making bolamore
