Fast-paced intersession, 4 group outputs

I took her class last intersession for ArtAp 10! The class was fast paced since it was intersession, with a total of only 4 outputs for the entire course, with recitation on the side. She's really nice and approachable and clearly is passionate about art and all which is great because I like when my profs actually show interest in what they talk about 💀 Anyway, the class itself was nice naman and the lectures involved back and forth discussions on what our thoughts are on art and its meaning, its purpose, etc. I found it quite fun because ma'am allowed for us to share our thoughts openly. For the outputs, everything was by group. A lot of it involved visiting the art gallery and using the art there in the outputs. It's fun naman, choose a good group and you'll have a good time even if you aren't super artsy. As for the grading, she's kind of critical, and sometimes for specific outputs I had a hard time deciphering what kind of answer she was looking for from us. We consulted naman, which helped guide us a bit but she seems to be looking for something specific from our outputs that we couldn't figure out so we didn't get anything higher than a B+ <//3 She's open naman to consultation during class time but she told us she was really busy during intersession so sometimes she didn't reply to any of our emails <//3 The modules on canvas were pretty much empty except for the reading for the module, which was kind of hard cause it would be more helpful if her PPT lectures were there or some sort of module breakdown instead of just the reading itself and nothing else. Overall, she's a really kind prof and is clearly knowledgeable about the concepts. Some of it may get confusing so its best to clarify na lang with her if you get lost when she explains them! B to B+ able.more

I managed to get an A in her class during the first semester with moderate effort. I encountered my first ever failed quiz in college under her class, because I only read the powerpoint and decided to ignore the loooong readings. It took me sometime to learn how she makes her quizzes and to adjust my study habits accordingly. Ngl it almost made me want to loadrev, but I stayed 😋. Her quizzes were a mix of stuff you had to memorize and short essays where she had her own idea of what the perfect answer should be. (TLDR: Read the readings kahit super haba and take note of her final thoughts during discussions). She also threw in bonus questions about Genshin and K-dramas, which seemed a bit unfair to us who don’t play genshin nor watch K-drama. When it came to recitations, speaking up was key. She'd keep at it until someone hit the nail on the head, so teamwork was a must. For our final project, we were tasked with creating an artwork of any form. I remember cramming mine the night before and still getting an almost perfect score. Also, (disclaimer this is just my observation) she displayed more excitement when it came to non-traditional art (e.g., dancing) over conventional mediums (e.g., painting, drawing), which for the latter she had more comments on. Nonetheless, the crucial part of the project was the discussion of the artwork itself and its integration with the lesson. I also remember dealing with her mood swings a few times during the sem. I really really like her! She's very friendly and her lectures were never boring 😁. She is very approachable and the workload in her class was not that heavy and evenly spaced out. Her onsite activities include group discussions and presentations. LECTURE: Your grade would mostly consist of her quizzes which were pretty short (usually over 15, 25) and they were not too difficult. To study for her quizzes, she draws questions from her powerpoints and readings. BUTTT She's very generous with bonus points 🥰 At the beginning of the semester, she would make the class choose between allowing the use of gadgets or receiving the lecture slides. Slides are around 40-70 pages long with just a few bulletpoints per slide so i definitely recommended the 2nd option!! Aside from the quizzes, the rest of the grade focuses on the defense of your lab presentation. A+ able with effort 😎 LAB: She was a bit more confusing with this part since she'd change comments in between consultations 🤓. It's very cute how she gets all excited when she's impressed with your work hehe pro tip: consult even in between required consultations. She grades pretty low in lab since she has high standards but not as low as other profs , around 70-80/100. Also get good groupmates!! Most likely B+ with high effort Overall, it was a very fun experience with her! classes were chill n exciting. I WOULD recommend her class 🥳more

Rlly enjoyable if you like discussing and reciting hehe plus the activities are always interesting — her quizzes always have bonus items and they always make the quiz more fun lol cons: — minsan malabo siya kausap :”) — she sometimes sounds unsure of what she’s saying — the quizzes are content heavy so they kind of require a lot of studying — most of the stuff here are groupworks which could be a con depending on your work ethic! B-B+ able with minimum efforrt, A-able with to the max effortmore

I took her class in the first semester. Her assessments included a quiz per module, which consisted of multiple-choice and short essay questions. She was fair, but her grading rubrics, especially for major requirements, were challenging because they were in increments of 10 points. I was the class beadle, and on one occasion KSDHDUHSSUA she asked me not to relay class requests in a single email but to have each student email her individually with their concerns (re: extension of ddl). She needs to be reminded several times about the posting of class presentations. I liked our class readings though for me a bit lengthy. You also need to form a group, and that group will be your group na for the whole semester, which includes group discussions and presentations even in major requirements. But there are times na the grouping is just per side of the class. Major requirement you need to do for her is to make an art. I suggest you think of an artwork by now so you don’t get rushed huhuh. There’s an extra credit work, not required but I suggest you do it. You need to give a critical essay about your classmate’s artwork. The most difficult aspect for our class was being the first batch to have quizzes (i hope she adjusted the number of items or the percentage this sem). Her syllabus made it quite challenging to achieve an A, although it was possible with max effort.more

Didn’t have her for ArtAp 10 but she’s pretty difficult to get an A from cause of her standards. Even if you may think you’ve aced an orals or assessment, you’ll most likely receive a B for it. So, yes she’s B-able.more

Had Ma’am last intersession. Our schedule was once a week every Wednesday split from 8-11 then 12:30-5. Aside from the orientation session, she would use the morning meeting for each group to present their output then afternoon session to discuss the lesson proper. In terms of requirements it was one creative output each week based on the discussion in the previous session and is done by group which is determined at the start and stays the same throughout. There is also an individual oral exam based on what was taught in class which is relatively easy to prepare for since it’s answering thesis statements and relating them to class concepts and existing artworks. Overall, easy class especially if your class gets along well with Ma’am and I was able to score a B+.more

hi! i was her beadle this sem and she’s pretty ok. if you’re the kind of person who puts effort into their academics, you should be completely fine. she’s the kind of prof who asks a lot of questions and facilitates incentivized discussions during class. my biggest tip is to recite as much as you can, take notes, and ABSORB THE READINGS. her quizzes require you to write essays, so it’s more of understanding-based. my only pet peeve with her is that she has a tendency not to reply, but if you make kulit her, she’s pretty forgiving when it comes to moving deadlines and shifting to asynch classes! might be handy to be her beadle this semester, considering it’ll be raining hard more often (yieee shift to online na yan). anyways, definitely B/B+ able with effort. good luck,! 🩷more

i had her for artap10 during intersession! as a prof, shes rlly nice. the requirements were super chill (4 reflection papers, 2 graded workshops iirc). the papers were on a pass/fail basis so those are automatically perfect as long as theyre relevant to the lessons. however, she takes recitation and participation during workshops seriously so the comments you give are also graded. i only got B+ because of the latter but i believe she can be an easy A if you recite a lot and give insightful feedback to your grpmates. i also recommend consulting abt ur grades after each presentationmore

I had her for intersession, but a bit of a heads up lang for Maam Roselle, try to get her feedback and opinion on your work as soon as possible! While she really is open to creativity, her standards and grading often heavily depend on her personal preferences. It can be unclear at times to gauge what she wants from you, so get her opinion in advance before your presentations! In addition to this, make sure to account for any questions she might have for your output in advance when preparing for your presentation (same goes for oral exams). Her feedback after your group presentations can come off a bit passive aggressive, but she does have a point sometimes (so just brace yourself!) Ask your questions as soon as possible because she really doesn’t respond until after 2-4 business days unless you push for it. As for the oral quiz, she basically posts the questions around a week or two (?) in advance, just make sure to already have a set answer for each question because you don’t know which one you’ll get on the day itself. During our orals, she basically had one person walk in during a 30-minute time slot and had them answer a question for 10 minutes. Good luck!more

okay so,, took her during intersession 2025 and let’s just say do NOT expect an A 😭 she’s not so generous when it comes to grading. we had weekly group presentations and tbf my groupmates and i realized that she sort of grades with vibes. she kind of has an idea that she will stick to and it can become difficult to convince her to see your vision, so grading will be based on that. you have to be well-versed with research and come prepared with a vision because if you’re not, then she will definitely deduct points for that. (while this isn’t grade related, she can be a bit passive aggressive in her comments. approach with caution i guess? it might feel like an insane amount of ragebait so just stay calm when trying to discuss your point.) for the oral exam, it was individual and you pick a time slot on a google sheet. based on my experience, you really have to be familiar with the topic and i def encourage you to go to the readings. she knows if you did your research, and it’s good bcs questions are prepared in advance. if you’re not too sure about your standing then you can bawi with extra credit where you’ll basically write about an artwork from a gallery got a B+ with the extra credit!more
