This is for those that need a B or higher for a major subj 🥲. Took her for Math 30.13 and 30.14 last semester and here are my thoughts from someone who would consider himself slightly just below average in terms of math skill.
[TL;DR HOW TO PASS]
- lots of self-study; the modules are walls of texts and pictures
- sync sessions are just answering practice problems
- use the book to fill in your gaps of knowledge about the topic, and answer the many different kinds of problems on there. These questions will have similar form in the exams.
- you will learn 10x faster if you collaborate together with your classmates in helping to solve difficult math problems. You understand each other’s different ways of viewing the problem and I sweaaar if you understand how the difficult problems work, this class becomes MUCH easier
- Ma’am is approachable! Her sync sessions deal with the topic with a strict schedule that she follows to a T and I’d recommend consulting her if you need it!
- A is not impossible. I guarantee you’ll get a B and up if you’re just diligent with this class. But don’t be surprised with C/C+ tho, that’s usual as you learn along with the course.
[CONTENT/MODULES]
- Self-study that’s it. Some modules and concepts were easier to understand, while others I literally had to hire a tutor explain it to me because reading about the concept was just NOT ENOUGH (especially the foundational concepts like limits and derivatives)
- To be quite frank, I had to go through this course only knowing HOW to do the mathematical processes and rarely ever understanding the WHYs of it deeply. I partially blame this on the full online setting, but even in ma’ams sync sessions the “whole idea” is rarely touched on (at least in my experience). If you asked me what’s the purpose of an anti-derivative, I wouldn’t be able to answer you. I’d know how to get it, but that’s about it. (But maybe this is just me being stOOpid so I don’t know)
- the book, you’ll need it for practice problems and sometimes, concepts are better explained there than in the modules so also refer to it when you can. But the reason why it's so invaluable is because of the many different practice problems that are sure to come out in the exams. PRACTICE AS MANY DIFFERENT KINDS OF PROBLEMS AS YOU CAN one bad experience of mine was that I focused on the types of problems we would answer constantly in sync sessions and in problem sets BUT THEN this question came up that I didn’t know how to answer because I wasn’t used to that type of problem BUT WE DID ANSWER IT LIKE ONCE IN LIKE THE FIRST SYNC SESSION FOR THE MODULE AND WE NEVER TOUCHED ON IT AGAIN BUT IT CAME OUT SO YOU CAN GUESS THAT MY ANSWER WAS LIKE 1+1 = oranges. Not fun
[SYNC SESSIONS]
- Honestly, you could skip these just fine if you’re someone gifted in math because all she does is go through practice problems FULLY EXPECTING YOU TO HAVE UNDERSTOOD THE MODULES COMPLETELY. It's really more for just clarifying stuff tbh.
- For me, I kind of had to attend them to solidify my understanding of the process, but again, if you’re someone who did advanced math stuff in high school, then I think you’re ok (just as long as you still practice obviously)
[WORKLOAD]
- in terms of required workload, we had 1-2 LTs or quizzes, then 2 Problem Sets (grouped 😚) and then a Finals, so honestly not that much because they’re sprinkled fairly throughout the quarter (we were quarterly)
- in terms of studying for the quizzes and answering the problem sets tho? Prepare to dedicate AT LEAST a quarter of your week diligently answering practice problems from the book. It is not enough to understand how to do the process, you must practice different types of problems because you’ll never know what will end up in the quiz/lt.
- exams follow a similar pattern: multiple choice -> Fill in the blank -> then Open-ended. The types of questions are every variety you can find in the book.
[CONSULTATIONS]
- I personally never was able to attend one because I was able to grasp the content enough that I only really needed to thoroughly practice with the problems in the book
- She is super approachable though, and the past reviews about her droning on about respect or other random topics never happened throughout my semester with her. If anything, her sync sessions were proper enough and they really did focus on the lesson. Don’t be afraid to consult her!! she actually made me laugh sometimes when she would tell a joke in her sync sessions if that counts AHHAAH
[TIPS]
- your classmates are your best friends oh my goodness, SERIOUSLY DO NOT TRY TO ANIME SOLO THIS TYPE OF CLASS. You will learn 10x faster and much more efficiently if you help each other out understand difficult practice problems.
- For almost every difficult open-ended questions, you would have 2-3 different ways to solve it that would all lead to the same correct answer. This is important because some methods will be easier for you than others so PLSSSS help each other.

Heyy so I had her for my Math 10 this sem so I can’t say how she’d exactly do for Math 30.13, but here’s a couple of things to note with my experience with her: • You MUST follow all her instructions exactly as she says it should be—even down to the most minute details—or else she’ll deduct points just for that. Ex: “List down all the things you like about this subject…” with this you’d get deductions for writing your answer in paragraph form rather than bullet form just for the word “List” in the beginning. • Ma’am Eurlyne teaches in this condescending tone that might make you feel…. essentially stupid for not meeting her expectations 💀 I heard bfor that ppl would describe her like a mother and I can agree. A mother who’d dish out that condescending voice for not being able to either answer a question or deliver a high score on a test 😭 • it’s best that you study and do notes of the whole module BEFORE a class discussion bc she wont always give time for ppl to copy notes on for certain parts of her slides. And it would also give you the upper hand during in-class group activities where she’d let you answer questions on the white board. dw tho cause she’ll post each module in succession throughout the sem and it’ll always be before the introductory discussion of each module so you’ll have time to study/take notes on them (pro tip: if possible, and if you’d rather forego taking handwritten notes on the whole module, go with printing the entire module instead because she gave someone plus points for doing exactly that; same with handwriting everything) • At the start of the sem the first thing she did was ask for two beadles, and only after that will she announce there’s extra points added to their final raw grade for being one of them, min qpi req of 3 in your prev sem tho to be able to get the position. • I can’t say much grade-wise since you might have a different grading system compared to Math 10, but like I mentioned we had group activities, either board work or on paper (must carry A4 with you at ALL times). And even though boardwork is grouped, she’ll still give individual deductions if you happen to be absent on certain days, therefore a hit on your participation grade. We also had a paired final project rather than a final exam, but again, might be different for Math 30.13.more

Honestly, the best professor I’ve ever had hands down. Her negative reviews are outdated. I think the reason some students don’t appreciate her is because she really pushes you to learn and understand the material deeply. She expects a lot from her students, but that’s exactly why she’s so effective. She has definitely improved from how previous students describe her. Total 180 degree shift!!!!
I came into college never having taken calculus before, and I was honestly terrified. But thanks to her, I ended up getting a good grade in her class! She explains concepts clearly, gives lots of examples, and knows exactly where students tend to struggle. Her lectures are super organized, and her teaching style just clicks. Out of all the math professors I’ve had in my life, she stands out by far, not just for how she teaches, but for how she actually makes you want to get better at math.
I’ve had her as my prof for three times now (Math 10, Math 21 & Math 30.13) because I genuinely learn best from her. She’s also funny, has this really encouraging way of challenging you. If you think you’re bad at math, she’s the kind of professor who can change that mindset.
Don’t let the negative comments throw you off. She’s god-tier at teaching math, especially if you're someone who struggles with it. Trust me, she’s worth it.more

Hello to whoever is reading this! I also had her during online class last sem and I agree with what my classmate said above about the subject and about ma'am. Calculus is difficult and you need to work hard for it to truly understand it and get a good grade. I'd like to add more about ma'am Domingo because at the start of the sem I was scared to take her after reading all the comments about how she's so malabo, condescending, rude, etc. So, I was thankful when she wasn't how she was described in the past reviews. Maybe she's a changed person? Idk lmao. Anyways when she teaches during sync sessions I personally found her explanations fairly clear, but then like said that's assuming you already understand the module. She's approachable and is open to clarifying what she explained in the sync session or during a consultation if you're up for it. She also was nice and seemed to care for our wellbeing at times. My point is for those who are scared about how ma'am would be during online classes she really isn't that bad! Good luck to those taking calc in the future!!:))more

ngl I had around 5 cuts and I thought it would affect my grade cuz she talked abt how important attendance is because she usually gives random seatworks (which idt was a huge percentage but I'm not sure I dont remember the specifics). but yeah for me, I generally like math so most of her topics I just YT and got the hang of it. but I do recommend not to cram review the day before. 2 days to be safe, 3 if youre extra paranoid ig. (agn this is for MATH10)
my group and I recited a lot. I'm not sure if she'll be forming groups for 30.13 like she did in math 10 tho. nor do I know if she'll want y'all to recite in calc.
basta if ure a hater like me and hated going to class w a prof like her but somehow confident or at least trust urself to study topics by urself, then I think you'll be fine.
also I think some comments about her (esp by her beadles) are quite accurate nmn. you can check those out!
tbh it just takes a lot of stuffing down your hater-self and rmb ure there to learn. bc at the end of the day you just want to pass, regardless of how bad the prof ismore

respectfully i disagree! i was her beadler last year, and honestly shes the best prof ive ever had. the workload she gives us is not hard at all. maybe ure just used to profs who don’t utilize having beadles.
i also think the reason why most people dislike her is because she really pushes you to learn alot. as someone who never took calculus ever before college, i got a B+ in her class! her teaching style really is effective.
i guess maybe it’s not for everyone but i swear, get to know her and shes actually really funny. i hate math but i always looked forward to class because of her.
out of all math profs ive ever had, she stands out the most. ive taken her as my prof for 3 times now because of this. dont mind the negative comments about her. trust!more

We had her for MA19!
- Make sure you really surround yourself with a set of people that are willing to seriously study with you a number of times! - Try to go for all her bonus point requirements, it'll help you in the long run.
- Be her beadle she gives plus points!! (She requires at least a B in your past sem though to become one)
- Although you will really need to resort to elsewhere to learn, I suggest still keeping in mind the methods she taught you, it's what she wants to see in your tests
- She really likes it if you take note of everything (even though everything might not be necessary)
- Get on her good side, be nice to her! She doesn't necessarily have a bad side/moods but I feel like she has bias when she know a student isn't doing his part in her class
- She won't keep up with your pace, so just try to to figure out her teaching style and see if you can find a way around it :)))more

Her teaching style is all over the place - a mess. On a positive note, she grades pretty well; in order to get higher grades, you have to participate on answering her questions, even if your answer is wrong. She curves grades for students who always recites in her class.more

omg i actually agree with this comment 😭 i also had maam domingo for math 10 and it was actually a not-so-bad experience. on the first day of class she shamed me for not understanding something in her class calendar in the syllabus. but it’s okay just don’t let it faze you if it happens to you 🤣
i dreaded her class everyday for like the first half of the sem then suddenly her humor grew on me and she became super funny i genuinely laughed my head off every single session 😭
my tips are just to sit in front if you can and just keep reciting even if she shames you. she will shame you if you get it wrong but she will praise you SO MUCH if you get it right (worth it ngl). also if you get an A on her LT she will LOVE YOU SO MUCH. i got an A straight away on her first LT so she remembered my name 😭
and yes i think the curve is real because i got a B on my second LT and still ended up with an A at the end 🤗 good luck anon!!!more

yes she fails, since the math dept works on a departmental scale all profs adhere to the same standards. For intersession she gave 4 quizzes and then the final exam, they look hard but if u understand the material well you'll definitely be able to solve them! Just make sure you can keep up with her pace. For our class she assigned us study groups so we would have an easier time studying.more

My blockmates and I will start praying for you ☹️ Easily one of the worst profs.
She assumes you know everything, and you don’t really learn much from her lectures. Relatively vague discussions and she has a habit of making students feel dumb especially when they don’t get something/ask a question (I don’t think she intends to naman, or that she’s aware. Wording lang niya siguro but still, u feel like crap lol)
She’d also waste like half of the whole class time just getting mad about certain reasons (like when your class is talking loudly before she arrives instead of studying daw or when the class didn’t get very good grades sa activity or something and she’ll start talking about how YOU SHOULD already know it kahit di naman talaga helpful lectures niya etc.).
You really have to study for her tests and she doesn’t allow graphing calculators or any calculator better than the standard sci-cal typically used. We had some activities din na by group iirc and I think there were some seatworks ata na open books? Pero no notes so I just used to write my notes on the book itself hahah

Hello. I have a few points to give.
Yes, she teaches. No, she doesn't do it well.
Yes, she cares. No, she doesn't care enough.
Yes, her grading system is reasonable. No, it won't feel like it 'cause of how she'd teach you.
Yes, she tries to make her classes fun. No, they're not.
Yes, she asks if everybody understands. No, she didn't explain no matter how hard I told her that I didn't understand.
I do have a few tips:
1. If there's something you'll learn from her, it's how to study on your own.
2. Don't make her angry. She's not scary, but she'll totally waste 50 minutes of class time to berate.
3. The book is your best friend.
4. Get awesome seatmates.
5. Bring food. (This is more of a comfort thing. Share with seatmates.)
6. Get ready to dance.
7. Always have your calculator. (If possible, bring a spare.)
8. It's better to study on your own than to listen to her but she'll get mad if you don't listen (if she manages to catch you).
9. Group studying and having a tutor helps a lot.
10. Do. Not. Use. Any. Other. Method. To. Solve. A. Problem.
Overall Experience: 2/10
Why the 2 you ask?
At least she asks you if you're comfortable with praying. She doesn't force non-Catholics to pray.
