Hi OP! I did not take her for intersession, but took her for a regular sem (Second Sem SY 2526)!
Ma’am’s lectures are the best! You won’t be allowed to use devices during her class, but I never got bored during her class as she is very engaging and passionate about the topics :)) Another perk is that your class might also get a chance to visit the Manila Observatory because she is an ES prof ☝️
I suggest to take as many notes as you can, as sometimes even random things that she mentions in class comes out in the LTs. We had 4 LTs which had a mix of multiple choice items, modified true or false items, and an essay question. You have to study well and maybe a few days in advance for the LTs as they tend to be quite tricky.
Aside from studying the notes and lecture slides in class, read all the readings and watch all the magisterial lectures! These are all organized in Canvas already by module so you can already download/read them in advance if you want. Her lectures are basically a summarized version of the readings with Ma’am’s own little tidbits but it’s still important to read them. I noticed that there were some questions in the LTs which weren’t discussed in detail in class, but are seen in the readings.
Workload is pretty light, because you’ll just have a total of 4 LTs, which make up majority of your grade (there is 1 LT per module, worth 60 pts each) and 1 pair activity or quiz per module (these are quite easy and worth 10 pts each).
Her class was one of my favorites last sem, so TAKE HER!!! You won’t regret it :)) I got an A in her class, but I wouldn’t say she’s an easy A because of the challenging LTs. However, A or B+ is definitely attainable with effort. 💗more

just be sure to give the quality work she gives to you and make sure you apply what you learned properly cuz her standards are high (even until now as her thesis advisee.. 🥲) but sooo worth it you’ll have so much fun and forget that the class is a class 🤍 she just wants the best for all her students and she wants them to learn as much as they could ☺️
and dw! she rarely grades low unless u don’t put in any effort but honestly with the way she teaches you’ll learn so much and enjoy everything, and she really just tests how well you learn from her and doesn’t really care about like being “perfect” basta tama na you get the general concepts because she loves learning from her students too 🥹🫶 she praises you rin if you really do well and tbh it feels so nice to hear from her kasi you know that you’ve really learned from her talaga hehe

miss favis is amazing! though grading-wise she's a B-B+ with effort, A is doable only if you grind like really hard 😭 she also doesn't post ppts/material so you have to meticulously take note every class session, but other than that i loved her class sm <33 she makes sts so interactive (she brought us to manila observatory once) and she makes her lectures engaging and fun by integrating her own interests like video games :> not bad naman na siya sa grading if you want a memorable class and if u want to experience one of the best sts classes admu can offer hahahamore

miss abby (favis) is the goat fr! her lectures r rlly fun and super engaging talaga. she includes nerd references in her lectures pa like LOTR. no gadgets in her class tho so pen and paper cos it helps us remember things better (acc to her) her outputs r pair activities, quizzes, and you’ll have 4 long tests. im a polsc student so the LTs were kinda hard for me 😭 will update w my final grade. overall, shes rlly kind and she rlly rlly cares abt science and she will try her best to make YOU care abt science.more

ABSOLUTELY WOULD VOUCH FOR MA'AM ABBY FAVIS !!!i won't go into too much detail with her assessments since i feel there's a lot of posts/comments that explain them alreadywhat i can say though is that she's a somewhat challenging but doable A! tip really is to listen and take notes as much as possible during her class since it will ALL show up in her LTs (even her unhinged remarks, though they might show up as a bonus question)she also has such an infectious personality, especially with her nerdiness! don't know how she is for intersession, but she does conduct outdoors activities every now and then which are guaranteed fun! can come to class a bit agitated sometimes but she switches to science nerd real quick tbh HAHAhonestly just go for her agad !!! like no question <33more

her long exams are a mix of multiple choice, identification, and multiple essay questions
(aside from taking notes during discussions, I highly suggest that you read the readings since they can also help deepen your understanding) she expects quality work for essay answers but she’s not very strict as long as your answer aligns well with her discussions and is explained well
lastly, take note though that she doesn’t post her ppts on canvas, so I suggest bringing a laptop to take notes during her class

hi! i had her for sts 10 so this may still apply. her teaching style is personally effective for me. she clearly knows her stuff and has mastered her lectures. she has a no-gadget rule, and i was worried that I'd start getting fidgety esp bc we had a 3 hr wednesday class 😭 but i found myself not having the urge to do something else during her lectures! as someone with a pretty low attention span, i was able to focus for the whole 3 hours, and writing traditional notes actually made the info stick more.
in terms of grading, she grades fairly. idk how the assesments differ, but in sts 10 she had 1 quiz per module and pair activities.
personality-wise, i really liked her! she's fun but just dont piss her off lolmore

Recommend! I had her SY25-26 2nd semester as a pre-enlisted class and her discussions and lessons were very engaging even if I am not really good at science hehe. In short, you will not be bored to death :).
