Andrei Sy Javierto Amazing prof! Microbio became one of my favorite subjects because of her. The pacing was a bit challenging since I took her in intersession, but she taught us a lot about microbial genetics and applications aside from basic microbio. Microbial genetics was really helpful in the succeeding bio courses like Genetics and Cell Mol.more

Timothy Dumlao Adding to Tim's review, you might find yourself getting a lower grade than expected so if you want to aim for that A it does require you to put in maximum effort. For quizzes focus on memorizing concepts and if may application questions practice the easier ones and pagdating the long tests they're basically just harder versions of the quizzes. Idk how to explain pero sa quizzes there are concrete right and wrong answers pero sa long tests you'll have to think about it more kasi there are many possible correct answers. Can't stress enough na super time consuming and lengthy nung mga computation questions niya (for genetics atleast). Also, mej gentle gentle yung boses ni ma'am so at times mej nakakantok yun lecture pero make sure to pay attention kasi she sometimes asks people to recite.

Had him in La Salle (for shs HAHAHA) for a Fil class and I remember him being a chill prof with lots of kwento but also gives feedback on all assessments. He loves fountain pens ✒️and graded us fairly naman :>>more

She has a pretty conventional method of teaching. Right off the bat, she told us she doesn’t like students using gadgets during her class (we were hybrid) and that she’s more of a paper-and-pen kind of prof (which to me was kinda hassle cuz im an ipad kid JAJAJWJW) pero if ure into handwriting then you’ll like her! She’s not super by-the-book naman pero she’s blunt and gets into the material, no nilly willy. I kinda like how she gets straight to the point, and I can easily digest the information she says (albeit loaded/comprehensive) so I can definitely say her teaching style is very much competent and translates to students. Medj nakakaantok and boring at times tho, maybe because her voice is so monotonous. Her reqs are saks lang naman, we had three long tests, three quizzes, and a special project (altho intersession siya, idk if its diff w a regular sem). Her quizzes are easy and her long tests are fine naman but,,, she’s very particular with essays. If you want full marks, she really needs to find the answer she’s looking for, otherwise she’ll deduct points. Di siya nadadaan sa bola. Other than that, you really have to pay attentively sa kanya and you’ll be goods (her last exam tho gave us a whiplash huhu it caught us off guard). Overall: Would take her again, definitely A-able with effort.more

after sem update: - we took a long test in the middle of an earthquake, and she was very considerate enough to adjust our scores bc most of us had to evacuate before we could even finish hopefully she teaches this subject again in the future bc u should take her!more

Just finished taking Sir this semester. For me, A-with effort (not a terror prof). He is a very knowledgeable prof in the subject, while not necessarily having a background in psychology (has a background in law), he has taught the subject much better than some of my actual psychology professors have done. The modules are easy to understand, and the lectures, which are often a repetition of the modules (sometimes, but still take notes), help add onto it with examples. His classes are very organized, schedule everything ahead of time (save for sudden disruptions), and are easy to communicate with (prefers Slack and hates Canvas mailbox). He gives very barkada vibes and loves talking to students in between the breaks that sometimes you forget he is your professor. He is approachable and loves talking about his interests in video games and K-pop (for my section). DO NOT BE LATE to his class, as he hates that and won't hesitate to call you out on the spot. However, he is very exact in his expectations/rubrics, so I suggest consulting as much as possible. Personally, I would take Sir's class again. Just GET GOOD GROUPMATES. If shared equally and done ahead of time, the workload is not heavy at all, but be prepared, this course is very writing-heavy. But there are no discussion boards, only assignments and quizzes. ------ REQUIREMENT DETAILS BELOW: For requirements, we had four assignments (1 individual and 3 group-work but optional if you prefer to work on them alone), and three quizzes: Assignments: - Creative Project (Indiv): Work profile about yourself with application of comm theories. - Mid-Term Research Paper (Group/Indiv): First half of final paper. - Creative Project (Group.Indiv): Video (3-mins) about comm theme. - Research Paper presentation (Group/Indiv): Present 5 mins overview of the research. Sir will also ask questions here, so know your paper fully, and be ready to take his advice on changes. Part of Final research paper grade too. - Final Research Paper (Group/Indiv): Continuation of Mid-Term Research Paper. Consultation: - Each of the papers will have a designated consultation day. But you can email Sir if you want more. Quiz Details: - 2 Paragraph (10 points) and insert the 20 correct words in the box type (20 points). - Paragraph: Get straight to the point. Concise and put the big terms there. - What to study: Sir puts all the term details in the Canvas lessons. Highlight the terms there, study and memorize them, know what they mean and how it connects, and you should be good. - You can explain, challenge, and expound your answer if it is not exact during the answer reading. - Preferably, use Sir's exact wordings in the explanation in Canvas, and you can get a high score in the paragraph section. - Bonus points if you - No curving in our class due majority having the same score. - Review at least a week before as depending on the modules covered, there are a lot of terms.more
