Hello :> I took Ma'am Ibita's class during the online set up, I was her beadle. Ma'am is super nice she really takes her time explaining the basics of what the semester's going to revolve around. Legit, I don't remember how many times I heard the words see, judge, act, evaluate, and celebrate throughout that sem but it stuck naalala ko pa nga ngayon.
We had around 6 outputs for her class back then, they aren't just papers so it wasn't that boring, medyo refreshing pa actually. Around 3 outputs were indivually done the first requirement and our midterm exam. Mostly essays with knowledge questions and we'd have to expound on our answers through the essays. The midterm exam was knowledge based, she gave us 8 hours to accomplish it then, saying it's doable for 2 hours for a lot of us it took longer lang, so take it with a grain of salt when she talks about the amount of time it takes to do requirements.
About the group work naman, they're mostly papers as well. The last requirement was the heaviest one. It was pretty heavy since we had to write a lot for it, but everything needed are in her lectures and her slides. If you listen to class it wouldn't really be that hard to work on the requirements.
She was also very patient with our submissions, I remember asking her at least 3 times to have deadlines moved, minsan she offers pa depending on the vibes she got from us in class. She also really likes it when you engage and share experiences in class, super naeexcite siya about that.
With how she grades naman, she grades relatively high, with minimal effort I'd say you can get a B or B+ na, with a bit more effort kaya A, basta you're careful with the way you write and how you deliver when you submit outputs. Also peer evaluation has its own percentage in the final grade, it doesn't just count as like 10% of the final output, or any group output, I think it was 10% or 15% of the final grade [take this with a grain of salt because I don't remember how big the percentage of it was]more

super motherly and she’s hella nice! but its kinda tough to get really high scores.
On the class - her modules are long af. There are around 5-9 ppts (with voice recordings) per modules that take hours to finish each. Sync class was cool, she loves ateneo so much and always makes kwento abt on-site classes!! so cute!
On grading - my final grade was so close to an A so I emailed her to reconsider my grades for our final paper. I respectfully gave her a few reasons, each laying out points where I did meet the criteria. BUT SHE RLLY DIDNT WANT TO ROUND IT UP HAISHSJS:((( she did however respond with a crazily long email giving counterarguments for each point i made but she did it in the nicest most respectful way possible!! According to her, a “very good” paper where all the criteria were met would only get a B+. She then went on ranting about the grading system of Ateneo, how there is no intermediate grade brackets like A- HAHAHAHHDJD
TLDR: B+ with lots of effort, u gotta be amazing to get an A!more

Hello! I took her last sem. Very nice and accommodating prof! She understands how heavy our workload is and will often ask the beadle if we'd like extensions on assessments. In terms of the course workload, it's kind of heavy and she will occassionally assign long readings. Really pay attention to her lectures and how she applies the concepts to real-life situations bc majority of her quizzes and exams are applications and rarely memorization of concepts by definition. don't let the midterm advisory grade let you down she grades rlly low for the first half of the sem because majority of your overall grade comes after the midterms where you have to write a 12-page paper coming up with ways to tackle a specific issue related to theology, SDGs, and Laudato Si goals. Definitely A-able, just do your work on time, contribute to group works, participate in class and you'll be goldenmore

sorry late HAHAHAH but yeah she's considerate and kind, although honestly she gave so much sources of information that I got confused where and what to study. I didn't really like how her activities were also quite far from what she was teaching. she has high standards, and honestly, I don't know what she expects from papers bc super unclear her instructions and expectations! overall easy B+more

hello!! i had her theo11 1st sem she is vv motherly and caring
although there were a lot of synchronous sessions which personally was beneficial kasi her ppts for each module were really long
we only had 6 assessments for the whole sem — both indiv and by group and she strictly follows the rubric when grading kaya you really have to put what she’s looking for
pero originally there were a lot of requirements if based sa syllabus pero i think she just lessened it to make it much easier for everyone

Long lecture videos, many synchronous sessions, and some quizzes will require you to read some articles/readings. But she’s very considerate! You can ask her to move deadlines. You can also add her to your group paper’s gdocs then she will leave her comments and suggestions there. As long as you have good group mates, you will survive. As long as she sees your effort, it’s manageable to get a decent grade. Good Luck!

i had her for theo11 last sem. she is a super mabait prof!! i remember in her ppts, she added slides that reminded us to take a break, stand up, drink water, or get a snack and that was super cute!! she also tries her best to let her students "experience" ateneo. there was one sync nga when she played the ateneo bell and then "toured" us around the campus. her readings can be quite overwhelming so just don't cram them!!
grading-wise, i wouldn't say she is super generous but i also don't think she grades unfairly. just don't expect very high grades from her because she kinda imposes a messy grading system?? she always expects something from you in an output, and when you don't deliver that, she almost always gives a subpar mark!!
overall, you will enjoy her class!! just read the readings and attend the syncs!! hard A/B+, but super B-able. good luck!!more

Love her sm!! Very open like even if I’m a gay atheist I still really enjoyed theology since she makes the environment open to criticism of Christian theology.
Tips: for group works make sure to have an editor to make the entire thing cohesive
For indiv. Works make sure to incorporate the lessons.
And when the part of the Bible you’re studying uses LORD God, u better use LORD God in your analysis/essay.
She’s very open to moving the deadline or even removing some requirements!!

Lemme tell uuu she showed our class this really awesome final paper that was so complete and so full of information. She had so much praises for it, saying it’s such a great work. And that she expected the class outputs to be on the same level as that output. Like,, that output was the exemplar output. But you know what she graded that output? 93/100. That’s barely an A (A is 92 btw)
Even if your paper is rly great and she has so many good comments about it, expect a grade in B+.

Hi! I had ma'am Maricel for Theo 11 in my freshie year, second sem in the online setting AY2021-2022.
She's a great prof! While it was quite taxing to attend sync sessions, she's very kind, considerate, and knowledgeable of the lecture content. She encourages us to participate in discussion and makes sure we are in sync with the pacing of the course.
I would say that the requirements are quite heavy, but they are quite easy and manageable to do. The only thing I would say needs a bit more time is the final paper in which it's by group. She grades relatively high, and is definitely A-able if your inputs are more aligned with the lectures and integrated towards your personal experiences. I would definitely recommend her as a professor, so please take her class!more
