one of the many reasons i shifted into FA!
our class did not match her vibe (mga KJ) but like what everyone else said, just participate and be attentive! ma’am is very energetic and funny, don’t be intimidated by that! (that is, affecting you from interacting in lectures/class. wag mag overthink, share your thoughts!)
she’s open to all opinions naman and dialogue, and the class is purely space to engage and converse about art meaningfully (sa reqs, just reflect this energy doon also)! idk why people have so many questions/odd comments about her when you’re in safe hands naman talaga kung responsible student ka 😭🙏
the reqs aren’t too difficult! i recommend talking about stuff that piques your interest talaga in the art scene and just yap from there (of course integrating class material). truly, you just yap about how much you f with this piece (academically anchored) HAHAHAHA
overall, one of the best profs i’ve met in my college lifetime and one of the nicest if not most! (she does remember you and will say hi to you when she can!).more

Maam Missy is great!! Her classes will always be engaging and fun since Maam is so hyper and cheerful!!
Ngl her requirements will mostly be video presentations(atleast that's what happened last sem). It's by group and we had to submit 6 to 8 minute videos for discussion boards. She also required us to do a 20 minute podcast. Soooooo yeah her requirements will really be time consuming and it will be a lot( last sem, she wasn't able to give all the requirements because she got busy with other stuff) However, anyone taking her class will really learn and come to appreciate art bc maam teaches with so much enthusiasm and passion that you can't help but listen to her during class. Also she really knows her stuff so classes will never be boring and you will really learn.
Overall, i'd recommend her class!! She grades high as well!!more

can vouch for other people when they say that she has heavy workload but it's a fun class overall! most if not all the tasks are based on the reading and they tend to be v collaborative since you'll work with different groups throughout the semester (at least during my time). the syllabus is comprehensive so make sure to follow what's in there. she calls on people for their thoughts if no one will volunteer to recite. you don't have to worry about that one kasi it's pretty chill naman. she doesn't have a dull teaching style also so you'll not get bored at all. just manage your time in submitting requirements for her class, read the readings, and you'll be good to go!

((Not really about the course but about the prof)) I'm not sure how she is for Film Acting but I had her for Improv and she's amazing! She's not only a great actress but also a great teacher so she'd surely be able to convey the technical side of the course very well + a lot of application. She also loves making her students journal. :)more

her class is a-able but very heavy workload (especially as someone who’s not really interested in arts). I would say her class is more theoretical in nature compared to other profs kaya there are a lot of readings, outlines, mindmaps, podcasts 🥲 her syllabus is also very detailed. her grading system lists how many points for each output totaling to 100 (so every. single. point. counts hahahah)more

Doc Missy is very kind! No class will ever be boring throughout the whole semester.
Her workload is decent to heavy. A lot of readings, and she asks for an output for each reading (either a podcast, outline, mindmap, or most of the time all three tbh). You are required to actually make art at the end of the semester, but it can be any form (music, painting, etc.). She also needs recitation in her classes, so if you don’t recite, she’ll call people.
Grading style is okay. A-able, but needs a lot of effort. She grades fairly, mostly depending on how well you’re actually doing.

I beadled for her class last sem and shes very energetic and fun to be around! Shes a bit different from other art app profs in which she'll treat it more like socsci and give a lot of readings related to art, and then you apply them to different pieces. I would say her workload is a little more than what u would expect from an art class but still manageable. At the end of the sem she'll require you to make an artwork with a grouped theme. Most of the class got around B-B+ but an A is totally possible. Good luck and have funmore

There will be a surprise quiz almost every class. After some point, of course, its no longer a surprise. However, what's tricky will be the coverage. Sometimes it'll be the current reading, sometimes it'll be a previous reading. She kind of just expects you to remember all course content at all times, so really study the readingsmore

She was my thesis adviser, majority of my classes were under her, she cares a lot.
She is a good teacher because you rarely get someone as passionate as her in Ateneo nowadays but also as everyone said it’s not really an easy A, you gotta work for it.
She has a PhD so her standards and her meticulousness show in her formatting and requirements.
The most important thing you’ll figure out is that she just wants you to show up, she’ll tell you one day “sayang tuition nyo” if you keep cutting HAHAHA
But it’s fine , just lock in when you need to and have fun when you have to, great prof, just try not to get overwhelmed when she has her outbursts of energy some people get spooked by that!more

- attend her classes as much as possible! i enjoyed her classes sm that i didn’t realize na i never cut 😆 and on the last day she personally thanked me for attending all her classes + said it meant a Lot tlga sa kanya (she remembers sino ung mga naga-attend yes)
- stay true to urself and ur interests since a lot of reqs revolve around this (u’ll see what i mean soon :DD)

i got super low in her quizzes but was able to make up for all of it for the final project and ended up with a B+
Our class was 8am or 9:30 and her energy really wakes u upmore

Honestly very enjoyable and fun class, and def someone who made my 2nd sem memorable, my only complaint was that my class was so quiet It felt like only me and a few people really matched her vibe HAHAHAHHAHAHA
However when it comes to her quizzes/reqs they are def pretty tough since there’s a lot of reading to do and you actually gotta put a lot of effort into reviewing if u wanna make sure you end up with high grades, so in a nutshell A-able With Effort
But all in all she’s a super friendly, energetic and enjoyable prof and Idt you’re gonna be wasting your time with her, just don’t instantly expect it to be a walk in the park lolmore
