Honestly not so sure bc I didn't get an A but I got a B+ LMAO with decent effort I would say A-able, but not super easy because of the amount of details in the readings:')) Tips: - Recite as much as u can (and as complete as possible) bc I think this pulled down my grade - Study well for the finals, remember the details of particular events, especially the names of the people involved (this also pulled down my grade HAHA) - Speaking of the finals, he never told us in class what the coverage was and turns out it was everything on Canvas.... Do the assigned readings early bc they're pretty long, I recommend taking notes/summarizing - There are also 2 LTs, but he exempted all of us from the 2nd one hehe, 1st one was easy just remember the really main/major events of the assigned readings. It was just 2 questions (1 for each reading), explain your answer in bullet form (better than paragraph daw bc easier to read) in a blue book. I didn't really know the exact answer to the 2nd question so I just wrote everything I knew about that topic and got an A lol - You will have to do 3 presentations (2 minor, 1 major) with your group; he likes when students show excitement about their topic! So try not to be too monotone and try to be engaging He's nice naman but not the best with communication and found it hard to pay attention to all his lectures A lot of his recitation was also objective stock knowledge about related historical events so you can try to study in advance bc tbh I couldn't rlly answer them, but honestly u can just google them when he asksmore

hi! review for mendoza from semester style not intersession but might be similar 😄 1. reports - we had reports by group (i think groups of 5 or 6?) where u get a topic (he has 6 topics to choose from, 1 per group, then u present on diff days!) my group got to do a report on filipino food HAHAHA i’d reco making this engaging since sir pays attention to both the content and how you’re able to present 2. LTs - his lts are notoriously difficult since it’s like memorization and it’s 20 items of modified true or false. i think i (and most other people) got like 3/10 since its super specific details that u usually wouldnt remember but his letter grade system is like 90-100 A, 80-90 B+, 70-80 B, etc so most people ended up with B-B+ parin 3. museum visit - we did a museum visit, i think my friends and i went to the vargas museum in upd lang then u have to write a report about ur visit. super fun naman! i think overall it was a heavy core sub HAHAHA i felt like the lts were super hard but the class itself was ok naman! i’d say he’s a B+ with effort and some luck. most people got B ata. lectures were kinda engaging but i still feel like it was a core subj i had to study a lot for (more than some majors)more

mendoza is ok! pretty chill. he lays out everything u need to accomplish during the start of the sem, so no surprises. in our case, 2 of his LTs are easy essay-types, but one was a hard modified t/f. there's also 1 reporting, 2 events, 1 museum visit, and daily recitation. imo his lectures are ok also, sometimes entertaining but sometimes it can get boring. overall, i learned a lot naman. prev students said he curves, hope he does!!!more

would like to agree! He loves it when the class is very participative, got an A to him (idk why pero nagc-curve ata siya? Not sure). He also had fun stories about histo ++ he can stitch his teachings to his own experience. The cons lang is to prepare for his exams mostly kasi true or false 2 pts each and very very specific. One tip is to take down notes during his discussion. Lahat ng sinasabi niya yun lumalabas sa exams niya.more

Ah also about workload, definitely manageable but do work on your presentations early--you can find the schedule on the syllabus and he strictly adheres to it so it's about to your group to make sure you don't cram.
