taking sir art (millo) this sem and FOR ME he’s not as bad as ppl say 🥲 he’s actually superrr nice and very lenient with deadlines :”) also very accommodating regarding groupings and online sessions. his discussions at the start of the sem were very draggy but they were a lot better towards the end! yun nga lang he has pretty high standards for papers (he has only returned one so far, but i got a B+ naman) - i think the key for his class is really to just recite recite recite and make sure he KNOWS who you are. it helps! quizzes are tricky and a lot fail BUT coming from someone who would only skim the readings the night before - they’re doable as long as you have notes and pay attention in class 🙂 got pretty high in them but still, DON’T WORRY because he’ll curve the quiz component if most of the class fails. will come back to this once final grades are out…… TLDR: i wouldn’t 100% recommend taking him BUT if you do, dw too much he’s not as bad as the reviews make him seemmore

He grades okay, but he's not transparent at all. You'll think you're doing great until the final grades 😂 Teaching wise, he's about as engaging as watching paint dry. Classes are a test of patience and understanding. The topics themselves are somewhat interesting but the way he presents them will leave you wishing you had loadrev-ed. Honestly, he's a reflection of how much quality control the admin needs to do on the way their teachers engage. The assessments are often random and can feel like a weird attempt to shake things up. Usually, they're groupwork. Either way, appreciate them because at least you'll spend time not trying to fall asleep to his voice 😂😂. Quizzes themselves can be confusing because his wording is confusing. One time, he made changes to the quiz right in front of us because the way a question was phrased made us all go "huh?" TL;DR: survivable but A-able? probably notmore

Hi! Just engage a lot in the class discussion. He presents lots of social cases, dont be afraid to say your views about the topic kasi there is no right and wrong answer, only perspectives. He really appreciates that. He is really understanding and considerate as long as you are respectful din. Valid din other reviews saying he tends to ramble and medyo blocky ang ppt niya. Dont focus on taking notes, it wont help since he gives the slides. Just focus on listening and engaging in the class. Magulo siya mag grade yeah, unclear rubrics and expectations yeah. But more than that class participation is important, my mid performance with the group couldve been a 3 or 3.5 at most but the class participation makes it a 4. Goodluck! Dont be pressured and try to enjoy lang hahahahmore

I usually don’t rate profs based from being an easy A BUT with Sir Art Millo, you’ll barely learn anything. He is really nice as a person and is passionate about gender related topics but as a prof😬 If ever you can’t loadrev out, just make sure to always consult with him so you can know what kind of output he is looking for & make sure he knows you!!more

run from millo at all costs u would literally learn more from doomscrolling than u would from his class 😭 waste of tuition, also publicly compares students' grades and grading practices are highly questionable. me and my educ blockmate consistently cite him as an example of what NOT to do as a teachermore

I mentioned that I’ll come back to this post once I’ve received my intersession grade!! I got a B+ from his class but it took a lot of effort. Constant reciting and constant reading the course materials are needed to get B+/ A 😵💫 but don’t let that deter you from enjoying his class! He’s really kind and helpfulmore

hi anon! iirc, mostly essays, reflection papers, discussion boards and a few projects that have to be submitted by group!! i remember our final project being divided into two parts for the whole semester,, but there's not much time alloted during class to actually discuss. we spent most of our time in class listening to sir art, and not much to actually meet with our group and work on our project. his discussions weren't as helpful as well for the assignments! he graded our papers around 2.5-3.5, rarely someone would get above 3.5more

Honestly, one of my favorite profs! 🥹 💗 he’s very understanding and will guide you if ever you need help navigating your paper. I’m not so sure how he grades for the final marks because I’m taking him for intersession, but once the grades are released, I’ll let you know!! My tip is to recite a lot and make it known that you’re actively participating and engaging in his class, I think he appreciates the effort. He’s really not as bad as everyone makes him out to be, he’s just socially awkward 😆more

Jst an update, I took him this intercession and I kid you not, he's literally the sweetest prof I've met. He's not even judgemental in our class like most of the recent reviews. Even if you don't read his readings right before every single class, he guides you through recitations and is more objective about his criticism than just plain biased. And don't get me started on his after class consultations, he really went out of his way to address me and my friend's concerns regarding academic, and even personal insights while maintaining a strict professional relationship on the FIRST day! Just don't be a slacker and complain about feeling embarrassed in recitations, you'll just be digging your own grave. He's a great guy.more

A-able probably not… idk anyone who has gotten an A from him 😭 but B+ for sure! He’s not all bad tbh he’s actually super nice and very lenient with deadlines! Yun nga lang lectures are dragging and he’s very veryyyy nitpicky with papers. Quizzes for me were doable naman, just make sure to read the readings plus TAKE NOTES IN CLASS and you’ll do okay! He curved the quizzes for our section because around half the class failed lol. But he does not curve or round up final grades 😞 Even so, there are probably worse profs out there. Just make sure to recite recite recite in class so he knows who you are (by name talaga! I think if he knows you, it helps boost your grade sa papers)more

Update! Took Sir. Art for intercession and got an A. I wouldn't say he's an easy A since you really need to put in a lot effort in terms of recitation and outputs. However, Sir. is very kind and forgiving naman so maybe B or B+ is easy! He's started to give back our grades much earlier but a good chunk of the class still fails. Although, for all of our quizzes he curved! My advice is just recite A LOT in class. In his syllabus, it says that you need to at least recite thrice. According to him, just make yourself known (make sure he knows your name talaga!!) He also allows devices which is really helpful for taking down notes (because his readings are really long). Additionally, he is very open to questions and consultations!more

run away from sir art 🤣 his discussions are not productive. he usually doesn’t teach—he asks the class on their opinions and spends more time pausing than actually talking. majority of the class didn’t learn anything. his quizzes are also hard (mcq, modified true or false, identification). he also grades really low for essays + gives feedback towards the end of the semester.more
