Most of my classmates already gave their reviews and I would say they’re pretty accurate so yeah but let me give my two cents. Personally, Ma’am Nazareno made me appreciate History talaga like her modules are not just the typical historical facts that you’ve probably known your whole life so if you’re into history or you’re genuinely interested about it, you’ll actually enjoy reading about the materials in her module. She’s also mabait like she would check in with her students how they are especially if the current political climate is rocky, she would take time to actually make kumusta to her students during synch. Now for the (un)fortunate part, her standrds are indeed high but she grades fairly. I got a perfect score in her reflection paper and As sa mga final requirements (the midterm and final paper) I think its also due to the fact I got good groupmates (she groups us randomly) but yeah you gotta exert effort in her papers and if you read her criteria and follow as much as you can, you can reach her standards naman. The tricky part pa about her standards is she asks for depth and comprehension and really nuanced understanding but her word count is limited like less than 1k words so you gotta be smart. She doesn‘t like lengthy answers so make your submissions short, straightforward, and nuanced enough that you can show her you understand the differing or contrasting points of your argument. Biggest con: she doesn’t give feedbacks lol so you’re entering blind talaga like during our midterms we had so much we could’ve improved on only if she gave us feedback earlier on :(( Overall though she’s the type of prof you’ll learn about History and definitely would force you to actually be a hardworking college student who exerts effort in researching about their essays. Take her if you want to be challenged and good luck<3more

It was definitely not an easy A but I was actually surprised by how much I appreciated taking her class. Like how others have mentioned, her modules are very detailed and the readings she assigns are engaging and relevant. It never felt like I was being assigned to go through an unnecessary amount of information which is common in history classes. As for the assessments, the online quizzes always just asked about the content in the modules and readings. If you studied the materials she gave, you would likely get perfect/ an easy A on these short multiple choice quizzes. However, this gave me a false sense of comfort because these were the only assessments she really gave feedback on throughout taking the class (because they were auto graded). We had several group works that were usually podcast/recorded discussion style submissions based on guide questions in the modules. You couldn’t choose your group though which may pose as a struggle especially if you’re taking the course online. Aside from this were individual reflection papers about seminars and readings, and other short writing activities that I don’t remember getting any feedback on until the last week of the semester. You can also keep track of her class without attending the synch sessions. She always would send reminders on canvas about where you should be in the module and the upcoming deadlines. However, be prepared to ask your beadles questions despite this. Overall, I learned a lot and enjoyed taking her class. I actually tried to load rev out of it to be with my friends but I’m kind of happy that my request was denied hahah good luck lang and be ready to put in effort!more

pros: 1. organized ung modules sa canvas 2. detailed instructions 3. nagsesend ng reminders on requirements thru canvas inbox (esp pag malapit na due) cons: 1. kahit maayos ung modules, hindi naging consistent sa pagrelease huhu like may isang week ata or two weeks na walang nirelease. tapos readings nalang nilabas sa last 2 modules rawrr (kung tama pagkakaalala ko) 2. little to no feedback :/// ito yung pinakamahirap since the requirements were similar? like there were 3(?) podcast-like discussions tas mas okie sana kung nakakuha ng feedback sa una para alam paano iimprove for the next ones, pero waley AHUHU (same with the essays, nagsilabasan lang lahat ng feedback nung patapos na sem hahahah) tapos kahit nireremind din siya ng beadle re: feedback (and other stuff), wala tlga huhu 3. intimidating,,, sabi niya agad samin on the first synch na mataas daw standards nya HSJDJSJS 4. i think most of the synchs are just about the requirements. isa lang ata yung naging discussion talaga ng lessons. sayang lang since history class ito! di mo talaga maga-gauge performance mo sa course niya, pero i think B/B+-able naman!! pass all ur requirements on time + effort lang talaga to get an A!more

VOUCH not but i will also be reviewing 😭 every time i see a new annotation notif i just cry omg…gives you a false sense of security fr because all our grades prior to this week were auto-graded so we were all A standing. Then class averages for midterm AND finals which are 40% of our grade are…72%-78%. And we can’t do anything about it now because she’s only giving feedback NOW 😭more

to add to this, i took her from prev sems and her finals was jus multiple choice (60 items) onsite pen and paper. If u listen in class, took down notes, and read the readings u’ll be fine! was initially scared of taking her class bc of prev reviews but she def changed and not what old p2p say:)) I got a B+ with minimal effort (would probably be an A if I did the extra credits) extra credits would be joining a seminar / attending an event or smth similar (very doable!)more

Hello! Her modules are very detailed and the content of quizzes and other assessments are pretty much included there. One thing that did bother me is the lack of feedback (or super late ones). We had two group podcasts, about three quizzes (iirc), two group papers, and a reflection paper from a seminar series. Worst memory was that the reflection paper guide questions were only posted two months after the seminar itself so parang napa-huh na lang ako kasi nakailang kulit ata ako sa beadle namin She also has a principle of not being able to choose your groupmates bc that’s real life daw (so i pray that youd be lucky). Shes also strict with deadlines and timed quizzes kasi thats also part of her principles of teaching (which she discusses early on naman)more

I loved taking her class! Old reviews are very outdated because she is not what those reviews say anymore. Took her Histo12 last 2024. TLDR: easy B/B+, and with just the right amount of effort you can manage to get an A. - Doesnt allow gadgets, but you wont need it either way because her class is really engaging - All her quizzes were done online asynchronously through Canvas - Finals was onsite with ~60 items all multiple choice - She has readings too, but very manageable imo - She offers bonus points by attending talks/seminars then submitting a paper on it - There are some group assessments but not the OA type of groupworks (ex. you’ll go to your groups during class then talk about the reading)more

it takes serious work to get an A, i’d recommend to take up all her bonus opportunities! honestly in awe of how good of a lecturer she is, very articulate and passionate about what she teaches. there may be less room for negotiation over deadlines, but always try to be timely and polite whenever ur class needs the adjustment. mahirap to get high marks on her tasks, but she’s very generous with consultations! just make sure to also do ur part as a researcher of ur own topic 🤓more

Had her for the last intersession and she's very passionate about what she does! It's quite hard though to get an A but very easy B+. Quizzes were on canvas with auto-check and for other assessments she takes a LONGG time to return those grades. My tip is to get good groupmates since the final was a groupwork output 💔more

Hello! I'm currently taking her for intersession 2026-2027. In terms of lecture, she's good and she teaches well. Ma'am doesn't upload her slides and she doesn't allow gadgets so you have to jog down notes. She does have high standards but its manageable imo. All quizzes are done online but through the lockdown browser which you will have to download. Ma'am also uploads the readings in Canvas. She also has a final groupwork about an artifact in Ateneo so pray for good groupmates 🙏 Overall, she's great and manageable. Would have her class again :))more
