Attendance sneaks up; grades fair, not high

Attendance: You'd think she doesn't take attendance, but if she notices na madalas konti lang people in class she'll start noting absences herself. Otherwise, it's the beadle doing it. Grading: She grades... alright? Fairly? I wouldn't say high. Her tests are mostly objective with a short essay portion. I don't think we had quizzes. She gives opportunities for bonus points if you attend certain events and write reflection papers for them. She's kind, she won't give you that hard of a time when it comes to grades. I don't want to say she grades high because I got a B+ at the end of the sem when I was definitely expecting an A (my tests weren't bad at all and I submitted bonus papers). So ewan lang lol Teaching styles: WOOOOOOO self-study na itu jk Quick disclaimer! We had her for EU 151, which has EC 102 as a prereq. She expected us to know a lot of the concepts by heart, as well as learn quickly the higher eco concepts she would discuss in class. She wasn't mean about it; she'd explain if we just completely didn't remember/understand and she gave us additional materials to read if we wanted to review. I don't know what she's like for EC 102 but I would expect she would take more time explaining. She says herself that she's not very theoretical, but practical, so she'll be giving you lots of real-life examples to help you understand the lessons. Idk if she'll do this with your class, but with ours she tended to read the PowerPoint........ the entire PowerPoint........ every meeting.......... so that was burat AF because hi ma'am we can read 😩 but if you ask her to stop and explain, she will naman. Ma'am Paderon is very motherly and kind! I just honestly think she's not the best teacher out there, but if you're in her eco class I'm sure you'll learn a lot more than we did in our class. 😂😂 She's the chair of the EU Dept so she also tends to be busy most of the time, especially if the EU Dept is arranging and organising talks, lectures, etc. She might give free cuts, or she might require you to attend the talk; depends on the schedule of the talk. She also likes to give "life lessons" in class. She's really a very lovely woman, medj burat lang talaga kami nung class cos we had a super shitty EC 102 prof so as a result we didn't understand a lot of what was being discussed 😂 Just make the extra effort to read on your own and find other resources if you find the discussions confusing or insufficient. Average was something like C+ to B+! Oh, and she has super distinct....... verbal...... mannerisms lmao you'll get what I mean when class starts 😂😂😂more

Her lessons are a bit rushed and her handwriting is really small (so stay in front if you want to take her). Her voice isn't very loud either. Quizzes/LTs are somewhat more difficult than what she teaches in class. She's rather motherly (is that a word?), and nice naman pero her classes are not super stimulating.more

Paderon has a very quiet voice so dont sit in the back. She grades really high, her LTs are multiple choice, just recite and act attentive and youll be alright. Shes overall very nice unless she feels you dont care about the class.more
