Gemmy grades higher; Noel is fairer on exams

hiii ive had sir gemmy for ECON 111 and sir noel for ECON 121 but ill rate them based on what i experienced Grading: Sir Gemmy is for sure the higher grader of the two. He is quite lenient and very generous in terms of bonus points. Kaya lang your exams will be one mid term and one final with 150 multiple choice questions if he decides to keep it the same as previous years. Just be sure to do your assignments also. Sir Noel gave us 3 exams spaced out over the sem and these will were the only graded tasks we had. They were typical tests with a TF, Identification, Problem- Solving (Sometimes), and Essay section. He grades fairly, but loses this category just due to the nature of his tests compared to Sir Gemmy’s. Teaching: Both of them are equal in my book. Sir Gemmy is enthusiastic with how he teaches, while Sir Noel just has this air about him that makes it easy to pay attention. Workload: As previously mentioned, Sir Noel only gave us 3 exams as graded tasks, so the workload wasn’t all that heavy. Sir Gemmy gave a midterm and a final, but he also had easy assignments (can finish in 5-10 mins) that he assigned throughout the sem. So, in terms of workload, I’d say they’re about equal again. Overall, whichever prof you decide to choose, you’re in good hands either way. But if grading is an issue, Sir Gemmy probably edges Sir Noel out by just a bit. If Sir Noel is A-able with minimal to medium effort, Sir Gemmy is A-able with no-to-minimal effort.more

Had him for ECON 112 online this recent intersession! He’s a really nice and understanding prof, grades high, and returns assignments promptly and with feedback 😊. He has weekly synch classes and he likes to make jokes so if you take this class I hope you on cam to react to him 🥺 parang he’s too nice to keep asking his students to on cam HAVDHAHS Cons for me is that he can be a little fast when discussing synchronously (but he posts recordings right after class so you can rewatch!) & he’s also quite old and doesn’t keep up with the news daw HAHA so he doesn’t provide much contemporary/pop culture examples to aid the discussion (but not a big deal if this doesn’t matter to you!) Overall recommend! 😁more

Nice, insightful, and cares a lot about lecture quality

i just talk to him in the department sometimes so this is a completely different view of him it seems to me, that he can lecture well, especially from past reviews and the fact he can actually speak well and say something always insightful upon prompt he’s extremely nice, open to questions, and is extremely knowledgeable, especially in theory. During our conversations it he made it clear that he does care ALOT about his lecture quality, and being a good teacher. He emphasized coming to class prepared, and that as a lecturer he must then appeal to all the students as his “audience.” still take this with a grain of salt! but I seriously doubt he is nothing short of a good or even great profmore

nice and considerate but deadlines were vague
just to add! her deadlines were very vague in the syllabus (i.e. week x instead of actual dates) so anticipating due dates was difficult, and sometimes the deadlines would be announced in class and not disclaimed in the submission page for discussion boards in particular. agree tho that she’s very nice and considerate n the reqs are manageable! pero ye, she won’t rlly change ur life:”3more
