Good prof!!! Take him! A. Discussion/Lecture 1. You are expected to read his readings as the lecture will mostly revolve around sharing your interpretations and ideas on the said reading 2. He instantly understands your ideas and is able to integrate it to the lecture. Though as this is also an academic subject, there is a certain answer he’s expecting. Nonetheless, he’s really open to ideas 3. Readings aren’t heavy! They’re light lang naman do-able within 30mins to 1hr 4. NO GADGETS IN CLASS or else warnings (he’ll explain naman) pero tbh you dont need gadgets kasi lectures are like talking to a friend naman (more on this below) B. Assessments 1. Art Analysis Exam: You will have 2 art analysis exams in bluebooks, wherein you’ll analyze different artworks and relate the modules and lectures to it. It’s important that during these exams, you do not just analyze it but also integrate what he says to get full points. Nevertheless, he still grades high naman (Cuz there was a time i js didnt give an f about my answers and blabbered LOL BUT HE STILL GAVE ME FULL POINTS FOR IT so yeah js yap ig) 2. Art Podcast/Documentation: You’ll form groups and then you’ll try to make a “narrative” from the artworks in Arete. He wants you guys to get creative about ur production cuz this will be graded too aside from the content. For reference, my friends and I made a car podcast and we got high grades naman 3. Class Participation: HEAVY IN THIS PLS RECITE AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE! As mentioned earlier, the lecture will revolve around your inputs from the reading so it’s important that Sir Allan knows you by reciting. This is graded and is a big portion of your grade. Dont be shy and js say whatever cause he’s really open and is able to interpret your ideas. 4. Art Project: For this one youre gonna do a final art project that will relate to all the modules you have learned. For our class it was about self-identity so idk if he’ll change that. You’ll do 2 things for this a) presentation check on your progress mid-semester b) you’ll submit at the end of the sem your final ouput so you have the whole sem to do ur output. (DONT CRAM THIS!) Personality - 10/10! He’s really fun cause he also tells stories abt his friends who are also in the art field and relates it to the discussion - he has a millenial tito vibe idk how to explain it but his aura is really light! he’s approachable and cracks jokes LOL you’ll enjoy him! you’re in good hands HAHA - He’s very lenient on extensions as long as its reasonable! The deadlines on canvas/syllabus werent rlly followed becuz of the suspensions + yapper siya and our class in general so the discussions prolonged but yeah - He’s bad at names lang LOL - makulit si sir HAHAH parang tropa vibes lang tbh TLDR: • He’s A-able + insightful + funny + approachable + light • He’s open to ideas and is interactive with the class. • The presumption is that you have read the readings and you’re ready to share your ideas/inputs in the class • No Gadgetsmore

Still taking him right now, but here are my comments: - It’s always a discussion and it honestly boring but you can see that he’s passionate at what he does so try to be attentive! - He values class participation so make sure to recite often - He has examples for every reading - He gives out readings and that’s the basis for the art analysis exams - To study for the exams, just honestly read the readings because that’s literally the only thing you can do 😂 - Idk about his grading style but I got a B for the first art analysis exam - His art analysis exams is just to give you the artworks itself and you have to analyze it based on the readings he provided - Avoid cutting since attendance will affect your class participation - He’s very open to questions and consultations! Show him that you’re interested - Tips: recite and read the readings - He’s very kind and understandingmore

I didn’t take him for ArtAp during my time but I was an FA major so he became my prof a few times. Definitely one of my fav profs. Tama na tito vibes siya HAHA very chill and funny prof. He likes asking questions too so lots of opportunities to recite. Overall just really fun and the complete opposite of a terror prof. If I saw that he was my prof for one of my classes, I would not be complaining at all. I even asked him to write me a recommendation letter for my internship. That was how comfortable I was and how approachable he is. Definitely A-able. Take him!more

hi mhie HAHAHA i had him for art ap lang but.... he was great!!:)) very passionate sa pagtuturo, organized/straightforward powerpoints, engaging lectures. i'd say take him for these reasons, bonus na lang yung fact na A able siya (at least in art ap HAHAHA) and i can imagine that he'd be the same in other classes. again art ap lang i2 HAHAHA his requirements were sakto lang and medj passion project type yung papers and reqs niya medj naiyak ako sa feedback niya sa papers ko cuz they're always affirming and genuine so i'd say he rly goes through submissions thoroughly. overall great guy and prof!! probs one of my favorites ever. loved him sm hehemore
