Sir Francis is a chill prof tho iirc this will be his first time teaching enlit 32. from how he taught enlit 22 and 152 he's usually the type to have a socratic method like class where recitation and discussion carries the class. he lectures yes but he pauses quite a lot to give the class space to have input. feel free to yap in his class, it's much appreciated. he speaks softly tho so stay in the front row, it's easier to hear. he gives out his ppts tho they're mostly supplementary details so READ THE READINGS and take notes in class or at least be active in listening. Be respectful because he actually cares. Always take the opportunity to have consultations because he can be vague with his comments so best to always clarify. The vagueness is not done with malice or anything tho, he just doesn't want to impose on ideas and he trusts his students. he sometimes has reading quizzes to check if you read but it's not that hard tho it's more often than not unannounced. Expect discussion leaderships and possibly 2 essays/papers (hope you like writing and actually passionate about literature/learning) /posmore

Hello! Took Sir Sollano this sem and he is an awesome prof 😊 He had two major requirements for the entire semester. A narrative analysis presentation (which was a 10 minute video) and an information campaign (any medium). Both of these are group works where you’re grouped randomly. The projects begin with a proposal where you choose a topic and present it to sir, which is followed by a consultation. For the Narrative Analysis Project there were supplemental documents that needed to be finished such as a sentence outline, secondary sources, etc. but it’s nothing overwhelming. Submission of the final projects was around midterms and finals. Along these are individual and group evals. He assigns readings before classes as that’s what he’ll discuss. Sir is very chill during class and lectures with a ppt. He’ll pose a question to the class every so often and would call on students who are willing to answer. Some of these questions will be related to the reading so make sure you’ve read them beforehand. He appreciates an active class and will find a way to connect your answers to the topic at hand. For consultations on our two main projects, sir allows us to pick from an array of slots he’s prepared in advance and they last around 15-20 minutes (onsite/online) During said consultations he would ask questions about the projects topic and raise any concerns he may have about it. But as long as your topic and proposal are sound its good to go. Overall the requirements for Ene, Sir’s teaching style and vibes alongside the subject matter we covered made Ene 13.03 very enjoyable. Sir Sollano is an S tier prof and you should definitely take him!more

can’t rlly review yet bc the sem isn’t over but i have him for ene 13.03i (humanities) and istg his class is the chillest class i have this sem HAHAH he holds onsite classes but sometimes asynch, very lenient, doesn’t give quizzes, doesn’t really call on people. he expects some people in class to recite though, otherwise he’ll call talaga will give a better review once the sem is over ^-^more
