if u want an easy A dont go for sir jehu, but if u wanna sulit ur tuition go for it!! super eye opening and fun hehe it was my fav class this sem

Had Sir Jehu – not an easy A but kaya naman with effort + super SUPER recite and class participation. At the end, I just got a B+ because I didn’t recite as much 😅 No regrets tho bc during class you really just have to sit and listen, and I assure you you’ll learn SO MUCH! Eye-opening class for sure! And sir is such a vibe he’ll still greet you even after the sem ends!

it really depends on what course you’re from cause he once mentioned that he has higher expectations to those that come from SOSS😭 so if you’re from SOSS, don’t expect a high grade if you’re only gonna do the bare minimummore

In an ideal world, Gappy would be A-able. But he isn't, he just isn't the prof for me. Yes, he doesn't do quizzes, but he makes us do a lot of papers. He also yaps a lot during discussion IMO, and can really get you weak especially if your class is at 8am, because he has an accent that makes it even hard to understand what he's trying to say. He's semi-weird with grading, and I mean that he really sticks to the rubric, and you really have to milk out every niche detail in the readings, that's how you get an A. I took him for SocSci 11, only a few people have gotten an A in a SINGLE paper, let alone all. My blockmates who took SocSci 12 under him said similar things: No quizzes, just readings and papers..more

reyes!! Not so reading-heavy. Gives emphasis on incorporating your personal experience on your paper. Recite often to secure an A. Very chill class, mostly kwentuhan!! Very tropa vibes :))more

balboa is the GOAT. had him for socsc 12, he has a lot of readings BUT you are not required to read any of them for the discussion! reading them will help for tests, but most of the content on the tests (mostly essay type) will be based on what he discusses in class. plus, even if theyre not required, he gives reading days before discussing a new reading. an a is possible with effort! hes a bit discerning with how he grades his essays, but honestly as long as you listen in class and make sure to answer as best as you can, an a is very possible he is petty lenient especially with deadlines, and he is very very very approachable! he loves to chat with students before and after class about different topics, and hes pretty funny and entertaining when he teaches! hes also very passionate about what he teaches, and loves student input and opinions during discussions, and he really fosters a good learning environment where you can really express yourself academically and intellectually so yea, 10/10 prof for me, if i could pick him for every socsc class i have, i would.more

Nice guy :) tho he yaps A LOT and most of the time idek if he’s still talking about the lecture or he’s js yapping. TIP!! Sit on the front row cos his ppts are super small and doesn’t allow pics during lecture. He also discusses with lights off and the presented screen is mainly his “guide” and not for urs to see cos the fonts r again, SUPER SMALL.more

balboa is p good!!! i enjoyed his class and it was an easy b+ with like just average effort esp since i had sm majors that sem…def an A if u give more than average effort i took him last year lang, hes a new and young prof - Hes so nice! does not take attendance but will check on you out of concern for your health and well-being 🥹 - He grades really low..but he curves really high!!! if you’re the highest scorer in the class you get the A and he adjusts everyone elses score to that. So if you got like 30/45 and ur the highest scorer…u get the A and he will adjust all the other grades based on the highest scorer (this is based on what happened in our class) - super few assignments too and really manageable as long as you try even a little bit! only about 5 assessments/assignments total i think - does not require you to read readings!! but ofc he really appreciates it if you do - hes v nice and very open to ALL opinions even if he disagrees - orals were online for us…he was rlly nice about it and gave us a lot of freedom i wud take him again if i could!more
