Solid prof. While activities seem useless or redundant, they made the final paper super easy to write. Grades-wise, she's pretty much A-able

she grades fairly, calls randomly sa recitation most of the time. shes nice pero minsan tbh kulang instructions but feel free to clarify everything ONSITE (wag na sa chat mas magulo si maam HAHHAHA)
overall her class is rlly fun and i always look forward to it every week.
workload wise mabigat amin pero onti lang but because it is prod eh. kami lang handle niya and ako beadle together with another one
[POST-SEM REVIEW]
Hi! I had Maam Margaux for the entire of first semester and here are my thoughts after having her!
Ma’am is VERYYY nice! She’s very approachable for consultation if you’re having a difficult time writing your paper! She also gives nice constructive criticism on how you could improve your paper during class hours if you ask and is very open to you if you need help.
Now, this is where it gets really long. Ma’am has VERY high standards. I’m not sure if it’s because I’m not a very good writer (which I am not…) but I’ve only tasted a perfect from her once. She’s VERY particular with her rubric and getting a 5/5 means that your paper is the closest it’s ever been if not absolute perfection. She doesn’t give a lot of work in the early parts of the semester, but end of sem the workload gets REALLY HEAVY. I cant emphasize enough on this DO NOT USE AI. SHE WILL USE 10 (hyperbole, maybe like 3-4 but still a lot) SESSIONS TALKING ABOUT IT IF YOU GET CAUGHT AND YOU HAVE LESS TIME FOR YOUR WORK. If you have her, I recommend that you ask her if it’s possible to assign work earlier within the year because the work for my batch was so clustered at the end of year due to the class suspensions. Also, during the semester another thing that added to our workload was the Peer Evals 😭. I feel like this was a good skill to teach but not executed well since it was always due same day as it was assigned.
Also, it’s important to read the rubrics; because some of the instructions do not give a full overview of what you need to do (for example we had an assignment she stated to have atleast 5 sources, but in the rubric to get the full point you need more than 5….).
+be mindful of your cuts. maam is fond of doing surprise quizzes + group presentations 🥹. If u miss an assignment, Ms will give u extra tasks to make up for it but u will spend 2x the effort and the highest possible grade for makeup work is -3 at most EVEN WITH MEDICAL CERTIFICATE. And there are no make ups for the quizzes
Regarding deadlines; she is so SO SO FOND OF MAKING THINGS DUE WITHIN THE SAME DAY OR THE DAY AFTER. If she asks you if she can assign work outside class, say no. You will regret saying yes 😭
Now here’s the question: is she A-able? Definitely! However, for me, she was a really hard A 😭. I’d say among English teachers she is one of the nicest, but I really believe she is not for everyone 🥹more

Had her even before she was in ateneo! Haha! She is the nicest prof/instructor I've ever had and generally grades her students really high.
You have to participate well though and be sure to maximize those consultation slots if you can esp during finals szn ;D! Trust that you're in good hands very easy B+/A imomore
