Take him for calculus / mathematical analysis if you want a patient, kind lecturer who grades fairly and will re-explain. Plan to ask questions in class or at consultation, and assume email will not save you. Prefer him over a reputation-based skip. Be much more cautious about an unconfirmed proof-heavy MATH 51.1 intersession if you do not already write contest-level proofs.

TLDR got him for 31.1, 31.2 on my first year and 60.2 last intersesh so hard vouch ❤️ Sir Mallari is really good and passionate about teaching math, its really difficult to hate the subject even if ADMU math is pretty difficult I came from HUMSS track and we did not have calc subjects but the way sir teaches lessons rlly helps you understand the topics. Just make sure to take notes and consult when you can, he’s also very nice and he makes it a point to make his students feel welcome regardless of whatever type of question you have:> A few things to note lang:
1. He doesn’t accept consultations on the day of the LT so make sure not to cram review in case you need his help 2. While he’s a good prof, you still need to self-study alot; pacing was a bit fast back in my time because 31.1 and 31.2 in BS ME was taken in the same sem. I think it will be alot spaced out for you since you are taking first sem Don’t be shy to ask him to slow down tho!! He did it for us bc he rlly prioritizes understandinng 3. Exam items tend to be harder than what sir gives in class because he usually uses class time to teach the concept mismo; rlly helpful for first time calc ppl but if you want to see how difficult the LT items are, check the mock LTs 4. Sir started sending ppts and handouts last sem but always take notes of how he explains as footnotes / addtl info Tagging @Z2 + MATH 31.1 section F ppl 🤧more

Also had him for calc (Math 31.1 and 31.2) 🙂 Super great prof! Very patient and approachable. He really tries to make all the info digestible. He’s the type that would be willing to repeat or explain what he was saying just to make sure his students get it.
Synchs are not required but are definitely helpful! He posts the synch recordings on the same or next day and rewatching also helps a lot! Not much content on canvas other than the recordings and the PPT (usually the same as the one used in the synchs) but sometimes he posts a bit of supplementary materials especially if the class asks for it. He grades pretty fairly naman and is considerate with alternative solutions/partial points.
Consulting is definitely key if you do not understand any parts of the lesson hehe he’d be very willing to help! B+/A-ablemore

hi! took mallari for a different math subject but he’s actually the goat just like everyone says !
he teaches extremely well and doesn’t move on until mostly everyone gets it.
he definitely challenges you to think critically in seatworks and encourages working together in groups, making class alittle more fun!
he’s most definitely a-able, but by that I don’t mean it’s an easy A, given it is a math course, but with a lot of effort it should be possible tomore

He's also always available for consultation and it helps a lot even when you just observe other people consult. he’s really helpful and encouraging in class! you’ll learn for sure but if you have any concerns outside of class hours, you won’t be able to reach him 😓 he’s very unresponsive and has the tendency to cancel classes (if need be) super close to his class time or right when his class was supposed to start
